Interesting. My 16gb 5x has lasted since launch (pre-ordered from Google) and I actually encountered the boot loop issue about two months ago. However, after one day of leaving the phone alone, it started working fine again. I am using stock android 7.1.1 and my 5x has been working better than ever. I've also never used a case and have dropped it dozens of times, even from heights above 6ft but somehow it still looks really good. I have the white one and there is no yellowing or dirt smudges at all. My friends with iphones tell me how good it looks and feels. When I show people pictures, they always comment on how good the camera quality is. I have a fast charger in my car so I never run into battery issues. The Nexus 5x is the best phone I've ever had and I plan on keeping it until the Pixel 2 comes out :)
My Nexus 5x (google preorder) lasted 451 days. Once its out of warranty you need to talk to LG if anything might happen. I'd HIGHLY recommend backing up the phone regularly. Mine went from perfect to bootloop to dead in a few hours. By the time I sent it in it didn't even turn on even plugged in. Yet to hear what LG will do, they openly admitted hardware issues caused the boot loop.
Depends on what you're backing up, contacts and messages get saved to your Google account while photos and documents get backed up to Google Photos and Google Drive, respectively, and Google is no longer selling the 5X on their store.
I still have mines. No boot loop here. Plus Its on Android 7.1.1. and decemeber patch. No problems so far. keep the phone in the ice. lol. Battery will last. lol. Its a good basic Android Google phone for those that just call text email browse and some media streaming. But definitely get the 32GB model.
boot loop came after 1 year and 5 months... I'm pissed as f**k not bcuz of google but bcuz of LG. They've been having this problem since g4, and they replaced the mainboard of g4 and v10 for free but not Nexus 5x... Arseholes!!!
Is it still worth it? You'd be crazy not to buy one in 2017, price is around 230$ for 32gb, android 7.1.1 makes it lightning fast with amazing battery life and all the bugs have been worked out, all that with a high quality camera.
I had this phone for over a year without a case, went to like 5 different countries and used the fudge out of it. Got the bootloop and now I got a brand new one. Its great
after 1 year of use i also experienced boot loop issue. It was frustrating af. Have to get my phone replaced. Totally agree to all the points mentioned in the video.

I hv 32gig model in 2017 and exchange it from moto X play(considering extra price I given to the seller) and I really loving it. I didn't saw this snappier and fluid performance in any Android device. battery is a serious issue(hope new Android update can fix sort of it) but i really like it very much.
This phone is just fantastic. No battery problems, no boot loop. I use it in -10 degrees to take action videos of skiing, I travel a lot so the camera is a major advantage of this phone. Plus the stock android and the amazing display... 9/10
I had this phone for 1.5 years and loved it. Started bootlooping yesterday, but I bought it from Google, so I called in and I will get my replacement later this week :)
I'm a long time Nexus user. I've had my Nexus 5x longer than any other nexus phone, now 18 months (previous nexus's usually a year). I love it! The camera took better pics than my sister's new Samsung S8 during a recent vacation (except low light). It charges fast and I've never had issues with the battery. I have not had the loop problem but to be honest I have 7.1.1 but haven't updated to 7.1.2 due to this fear.
I cannot agree on the battery life. I get 3h screen on time at least. When I am at home with good Wi-Fi I even get 4-5 hours. I never struggled to get through the day with this phone.
I'm considering getting either a 32GB one of these, or a HTC 10. I want the Nexus because of its fast software updates, the cheap price (less than €250) and the aftermarket support - I'm a big fan of custom ROMS. However the battery is a bit on the small side, the 2GB of RAM, and there's also that bootloop issue. The HTC interests me because of the price (I can get a new one for €360 with a HTC warranty), the metal design and the unlockable bootloader. But I'd have to save a bit more and the software support both official and aftermarket may not last as long. I'm not a heavy user, but I would like a good camera and solid battery life. The SD card support is a bonus but I can live without it. Should I spend the extra cash and go for the HTC?
It's July 2018. It's still my primary phone. had for two years then got the bootloop. sent it in for repair to LG as they are still fixing them but then bought an identical replacement that had bootloop repaired by LG ($120) while I am waiting for my first phone to be returned. I'll have two (backup) when that one returns. I am not a data hog with my phone. Just use it to survive and for business. Works great!! ..and beats the heck out of the hefty price tag on newer phones.
I'm going to be selling my S7 Edge and buying a Nexus 5X from a friend super cheap to use as my main phone until the Pixel 2 or Essential Phone comes out... Although it's a really good phone, a lot of things annoy me about my S7 Edge so unfortunately I have to say if I could have a Pixel 1 instead I totally would lol
I'm still using five of these for a business. Four of them just run one app have one that is essentially being used as a regular phone. Everything works great 2019.
I'm watching this in late 2018 because I've been in the market for a okay specs phone that's lightweight in it's software as it is in it's hardware. You are right to say that the market for phones nowadays are being flooded, absolutely flooded, with 'premium all metal 5.5" to 6+" displays' and I think the Nexus 5x is really the last of it's kind where a phone that can deliver solid performance (at it's time) in a plastic enclosure as everyone else seems to have transitioned into glass and metal bodies.
I love my Nexus 5X, and ran into the boot loop issue which LG sorted out under warranty (eventually), and on the plus side, they increased it from 16 to 32gb for the inconvenience. The only thing I don't like, is the battery life, but I'll continue to put up with it, because this phone is fantastic, especially since upgrading to Oreo.
I'm from Poland and I using white, 32GB version of Nexus 5X. I must say this phone is great. Camera is just brilliant and you don't have to spend thousands zloty (in Poland) to get a good quality camera. Even front camera is very good for selfie and stuff. Additionaly i bought hardcase from spigen and now I do not have to worry about damaging optic of my camera. Maybe 2GB RAM is kinda problematic because of overloading applications, but it's not neccessary for me cause I have PC for this.
I am rocking 5x. I have had it for over a year now and i have liked it. It is really smooth but lags a bit cuz of all the trash in the system. And yeah, 32gb is a must. Camera is still amazing and with pixel launcher and beta programme u still get really good experience and new features all the time. About only thing that has bothered me is the 2gb ram. Its anoying when multitasking cuz the we pages has to load again aswell as game etc. Overall I would recommend 5x still, for about 1-2 year usage. Just keep it clean inside and outside and u will like it a lot.
I bought this when it first came out and returned it immediately for the 6P. This has some Nexus 5 type battery life on it. I found it to be sluggish too. Love my 6p and now love my pixel XL.
also, I loved my old LG G2....so I bought a G3, which was awful. then tried the G4 which I hated. That phone gave me bootlooping like no other. I stayed away from the G5 and V10 because I read they had it too. But I heard they fixed the issue after the V10....so I bought this V20, which is GREAT. I've had no issues at all. nor has anyone really reported it on xda.
My Nexus 5X has been great so far, okay battery life, nice fingerprint scanner, and it seems like it won't break easily. I think I like it better than my old Nexus 6.
i encountered a boot loop like after 1 year of usage. Warranty service replaced a motherboard and a battery without any problems, but keep in mind, that you can loose warranty if they find any external damage. In overall I'm happy with this phone. Before this, i had a nexus 5, which as well was very good, fast and really enjoyed that pure android experience. What i don't like about these phones, they don't have a SD card slot, and 16gb versions are way too little. I always struggle with keeping all my content without deleting. But cloud services helps alot with that. I'm happy that battery life is way better on nexus 5x then on nexus 5. Can't wait to change to pixel series.
I bought mine for $200 (AUD, here the cheapest is 450 new) second hand from an old lady who's grandson told her to get this phone and she just couldn't use this phone so she went back to iOS and she used it for like 2 weeks, so I like to think I got a good deal on it :D. And as you said, I just wish it had at least 2.5gb of ram even, it would make everything so much smoother
Still loving my 5X. Although I wish I had picked black, the white back is getting faded while the fingerprint scanner remains the original color. Also the Pixel ROM is a really easy way to get all the Pixel features on the 5X.
I think, due to the stock android, that it can still compete. It's the same as an iPhone having lower end hardware, but still being very smooth. Software has a large contribution to the speed and flow of a phone in the long-run.
I have the Nexus 5X which is working flawlessly! I choose to root it and flash Pure Nexus ROM, definitely the best phone there is in the price category!
Just bought one today. Brand new for $230 (usa model with warranty). My nexus 5 original had a boot loop issue, but the fix for that was spamming the power button until the system booted back up and it was a rare occasion and didn't occur until almost two years later and some serious drops. Hopefully the Nexus5x does not have this issue. For the price... NFC...800 series processor... finger print scanner.. i just couldn't find another phone that hit all those marks for the price.
Loved by 5x until it boot looped 4 days ago...all while I was on vacation. Was without a phone the entire time in another country. Never again with LG.
I got Nexus 5x 16GB used for 100 and haven't encountered any of these problems. My battery also lasts for 3 days with me using at least 5 hours of wifi a day with screen off - Listening to Podcasts.
I've bought two nexus 5x phones in the past 1.5 years. I've really enjoyed the price, size, and the fact that I can use it with Project Fi. However, after 1 year, my first phone fell prey to the infamous bootloop issue. The second phone stopped turning on, even when activating recovery mode after 6 months. In the long run, I would have saved more money simply buying the Pixel.
Hi i liked your video, but what whould you recomend between these two nexus 5x or samsung j7 2016,what do you think which one is better in,what should i buy? Thank you.
It's January 2018, no bootloop yet. In fact my Nexus 5x runs better now than when it first came out. Android 8.1 is the Pinnacle of Android! I'm using the Google now launcher, absolutely lag free ;). I tried the pixel launcher but it slows the phone down way too much
I'd add on as a plus that it's the entry-level model for Project Fi. I'm in the middle of making the transition and when I can afford the Nexus 6P I'll be upgrading then. I've been an iPhone user since 2010, but with the way how Apple's iPhone quality has been going down I'm making the transition. iPad though still because of the HUGE app support Apple has an advantage over Android variants. Personally I want the Google Pixel Tablet to pick up steam...
Still think my Nexus 5X is good enough compared to new phones. But do get a case, the plastic body polishes too easily even from just being in the pocket. Also all this video have been wondering. Where did you get that notebook? o_O
I've actually been in the market for a new phone and the Nexus series caught my attention so I'm glad I found this video. Do you think the 6P would be better?
Great phone, stylish, great camera, no bootloop on mine, battery time is ok ~3-4h screen on time. For the price this phone costs you will not find anything even close
The single speaker isn't great for videos or music. Just use headphones. Also, a little over 1 year after you get your Nexus 5X (right after warranty expiration) it will most likely start going into a boot loop or some other not powering up problem.
I have a Nexus 5X for over a year & I used it mainly for Emails & calls, the phone was great at the begining, but soon later the battery started to fall into peaces making it require alot of charging. Speaking of which, quich charge is no longer available in mine:(
I have had the Nexus 4, and three of the Nexus 5 devices. I am sad to see the end of the road for the Nexus line. I can't quite afford the Pixel and its time to update. I have always been pleased with LG Android phones. The 6p looks great to me, but I would much preffer a screen closer to the size of the Nexus 5.
My first one died probably because I shoved the beta versions of Android on it. No bootloops just one day packed up. The 16gb version is ideal for me as I don't store much on it. Mainly just for news and UA-cam consumption. And guess what....I took a chance and bought a second hand 16b one in mint condition to replace the dead one. Love this phone !!!
I miss my 5x so much but I got rid of it due to battery life. The bland screen and kinda bad speaker didnt help either, although I did get better battery life than you though. On marshmallow I got about 3.45hrs and after nougat I got a little more than 4 hours, but that just didnt cut it for me coming from a note phone. Hell my moto E from back in the day would get like 6 hours, but unfortunately my new phone doesnt last any longer either. These companies need to understand that when building a phone without a removable battery, endurance is one of the key features to the phone, because even if it can charge up in 10 minutes,if its dying all the time its gonna degrade way faster than anyone would like. Although I would imagine that's part of their plan though lmfao.
Mike a local business was getting crushed by bigger companies so they had go shut down and had a huge sale on everything, it turns out they had 2 nexus 5 brand new each for 70 bucks and wasn't sold Cuz many people didn't know about nexus. So I got both and sold one of them for 200 since it was brand new.
+Mike I just bought one in excellent condition for £100 off eBay while I wait for Pixel 2 or Essential phone to come out XD So many good deals to be had
I tried htc camera with my nexus 5x and i get very nice results. This is my main camera app now for photos. Htc 10 has also same sensor so the processing algorithms fit very good to 6p , 5x devices. Comparing the two camera apps in my nexus 5x it seems that google tries to maintain highlight detail and exposure accuracy but loosing midtone details and colour. The photos just look overall unnatural for my taste. All my google camera tests were with hdr+ disabled. Htc photos with my nexus 5x (imx 377) seems more natural. You can try it your self and tell me your opinion. Just google htc camera on every phone and download apk file.
My nexus 5x is working perfectly. Dropped it 250k times, it also hit concrete couple of times... havent experienced bootloop and I doubt i will. It's a pretty damn good phone for its price. So it makes no sense to compare it to s7 edge or iphone7 imo. But the phone is actually so good that it can legit be compared to those. So yeah :)
my friends 32gb and his wifes 16gb 5x fell to the bootloop cancer. one was refunded 100% the other was not since it was out of warranty. my 6p works great though.
the Nexus 5x was one of my favorite android phones when I first owned it, I could see the potential it had but it still wasn't quite ready for the big leagues. like he stated in the video the 2 GB of ram is simply not enough for power users, It would suffer from a lot of lag when running multiple apps. for me I'd usually run into a lot of lag when I had google maps and spotify on at the same time, some days they could run together no problem but other days the lag would be enough to freeze the phone. so with that said I can't recommend this phone in 2017, if you're looking for a budget phone and the 3T is out of your range I'm sure you can find a good deal on Swappa for a One Plus 3 instead
I've had the Nexus 5x for nearly a year now. I paid around $400 for it which is a lot cheaper than the high-end phones.. I was disappointed with the camera ..and yes the battery is less than perfect ..but for a $400 ph ..I think it's not a bad buy
mine after great use for a year has now gone completely dead - one minute working ok with an almost fully charged battery then for no reason at all it gave up the ghost - help!
I've continuously pitted this camera against Galaxy S7's in low light and it's almost no match. It could certainly do with more RAM and a bigger battery but the camera is the deal-maker for me. Just make sure it's the 32GB one.
I have a Nexus 5X and the speaker quality is very low in volume even at its maximum volume and also the speaker quality is very low and noisy when playing sounds/music. Does your Nexus 5X has the same case of speaker quality like my Nexus 5X speaker?
The 2Gb RAM is a bummer, I just wish it had at least 3Gb. Anyway, I still use my Nexus 5X and have no problems with it except if running 3-4 apps simultaneously (i.e. Waze, Camera, FB, etc..)
I'm still using it and like the design and it's too light and easy to hold compared to other phones. haven't had the bootloop issue and always been in beta programs.
I'd say the charging period mentioned in the video is rather wrong cause mine gets from 0 to 100 in 1 hour or less! I mean I am using the ElementalX kernel (issuing an exclusive "interactive plus" governor which extends the battery life noticeably without performance losses) with a custom rom featuring all pixel exclusives, but I clearly remember it charged as fast before unlocking the bootloader and custom roms and all...
"You want the new Pixel phone but you can't afford it" me af
Every person who is not rich af
LOL, yeah, this is why I'm here. Sucks to be poor, but want nice shit
Amos Wilborn even if you can afford, you don't need to spend 600$+ on a phone.
Amos Wilborn HAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAH #relatedAF 😂😂😂
Amos Wilborn me too.. 😂 but now my 5x look like pixel. Installed the pixel rom. 😁
Interesting. My 16gb 5x has lasted since launch (pre-ordered from Google) and I actually encountered the boot loop issue about two months ago. Don't buy Nexus 5X with 16 gig thats the problem.
Buy it with 32
twee3 You can still buy a Nexus 5X from fi.google.com/about/phones/?Made_by_Google&Website& Or I think anyways :P
Depends on what you're backing up, contacts and messages get saved to your Google account while photos and documents get backed up to Google Photos and Google Drive, respectively, and Google is no longer selling the 5X on their store.
I watch this Video on a nexus 5x

PisAu KarPet yepp, fastcharging works with its charger
I'm going to be selling my Nexus 5x soon. going to upgrade to the oneplus 3T. I love my 5x, feel like it should have got more recognition.
Beya209 I'm getting a Honor 8. I do more gaming on my phone

Never had a bootloop on my Nexus 5X.
Im serious

I had a boot loop. Factory reset-ed it. Works like a charm now.
I've had my nexus 5x since day one and I've ever had a boot loop I didn't even know that was a thing

Rage 9one exactly slap a custom rom and kernel, along with root and the surround sound mod.. and it just keeps on giving
Ultimate Gohan I did try custom roms, but (at least on my device) the battery life is best on stock rom.
Rage 9one try pure nexus along with ex kernel, i make to 50℅ with 2 and a half hours SOT
Rage 9one i got a 32gb for 180usd
buy one and get an useless phone after less than 1 year yeyyyy
I had this phone for over a year without a case, went to like 5 different countries and used the fudge out of it. Got the bootloop and now I got a brand new one. Its great
after 1 year of use i also experienced boot loop issue. It was frustrating af. Have to get my phone replaced. Totally agree to all the points mentioned in the video.
I'm on my 3rd Nexus 5X now. Thanks Google?
so this happened yesterday, My second Nexus Phone just died, got stuck into a bootloop, then refused to turn on, then shut-off completely after exactly 1 Year and 2 months (14 months).

people said, well it performed well for over 3 years, you should praise it for all those 3 years, and I said fine, so I thought to myself, If a mobile worth 3500 EGP got me around 3 years with nothing like freeze or hang or random shut-off, definitely its successor (Nexus 5x) would at least perform the same, if not better.
here then and there is where I made the stupidest mistake, I was deeply loyal to the Nexus devices that I didn't even consider any other brand, I thought to my self no other mobile will be this comfortable and within this price range, this was in July-2016 so it cost me exactly EGP 3800, which I was like "YAY" :D
here was my mistake, I was so stupid that I bought the same phone from the same manufacturer with the same brand expecting things would be different " this is the definition of insanity " by the way.
My new phone nexus 5x had died from the SAME problem that the first phone suffered from.
What I failed to notice, being blind by my loyalty to GOOGLE & LG, never thought that google would betray its loyal customers like this, is when google supposedly discovered the issue that LG had done with the Nexus line it decided to switch to another brand in its Nexus 6P.
As I was too busy trusting you "Google" & "LG", you have stabbed in my back.
After a through research on the nexus forum, i discovered the following, thousands of Nexus 5x users had encountered that same problem exactly after 1 year of their purchase (depending on their usage), so when I followed what they did, it was so ********* simple, they just went to google & then it was replaced, the most complain that I saw, is that one of the guys had to wait a long time until his device was replaced because he bought it from a third party store.

so in conclusion, I've got now 3 Nexus devices (N7 + N5 + N5x)
How many of them I can actually use ?
Answer = ZERO
This story was just to sum up my mistake, and to widen your gaze not to stay loyal to one single company or brand just because it was good in the past, when you need to make a decision you need to be more objective and consider all possible scenarios.
Sherif Sameh take it to LG authorize service center, I got it mother board replaced for free even if it's not under warranty.
I just bought one
pro:
+ feels responsive
+ good screen
+ good camera quality
+ pure android
contra:
- too big; I can't grab it properly nor use it one handed
- no physical buttons
- power button is on the side where I can't reach without lifting the phone
- can't physically connect to computer (maybe with an adapter?)
- no mute/vibration button
- can't change SD card - pure android
For example: Right now my phone is running 33h since the last charge. I have 2.5 h screen on time and still 46 percent battery left.
Tactician Jenro try rooting it and flashing pure nexus rom with ex kernel, i made to 50℅ with 2.5 hours SOT with no tweaks
No idea how old mine is. I bought it used and it's Nov 2017 now. Fingers crossed. I love the size and weight and Oreo.
I struggled to get two hours screen on time. Performance issues, particularly with camera. Sold for S7 Edge and never looked back!
Adam Graver look at the Google pixel it actually destroy s7 edge
Alexis Santana gonzalez It doesn't really destroy the S7 edge, plus everyone has their own opinions on phones sooooo.
Lewys Cousins how much are you selling it for?
You were perfectly right with the bootloop problem. That's why I said goodbye to my 5x.I couldn't make it boot.I tried everything.
I'm still using five of these for a business. Four of them just run one app have one that is essentially being used as a regular phone. Everything works great 2019.
yes I'm rocking 7.1.2 for 250$
Had this phone for 3 and a half years and I don't regret it at all
Thanks for mentioning the boot loop....I have survived the boot loop nightmare....
I'm watching this in late 2018 because I've been in the market for a okay specs phone that's lightweight in it's software as it is in it's hardware. You are right to say that the market for phones nowadays are being flooded, absolutely flooded, with 'premium all metal 5.5" to 6+" displays' and I think the Nexus 5x is really the last of it's kind where a phone that can deliver solid performance (at it's time) in a plastic enclosure as everyone else seems to have transitioned into glass and metal bodies.
thank you for your honest review! well shot too
I love my Nexus 5X, and ran into the boot loop issue which LG sorted out under warranty (eventually), and on the plus side, they increased it from 16 to 32gb for the inconvenience.
Also the Pixel ROM is a really easy way to get all the Pixel features on the 5X.
infinatious PixelRom isnt very optimized use PureNexus rom
that defeats the purpose of the PixelROM and I haven't run into any issues
infinatious ive tried both and i prefer pure nexus, it comes with all pixel features and then some. 10/10 woild recommend
***** yes, it has especially with ElementalX Kernel
Unfortunately I made the poor decision of not paying more for the 32GB model. Otherwise this is an A+ budget phone.
Best Nexus Phone I have ever owned. only thing i hate is the available internal capacity
For a guy with only 2.4k subs an great video quality this is some mkbhd lvl stuff bro
I tried the pixel launcher but it slows the phone down way too much
Ash Plays it's now February 23rd still no BLOD. Honestly I'm tired of my 5X. The multi tasking is getting annoyingly slow :(
I'd add on as a plus that it's the entry-level model for Project Fi.
Where did you get that notebook? o_O
+Axel Alexson Michaels 👍
Thx :D Also do test the new Nokia 6 if you happen to get your hands on it.
did your phone loop ?
+brent bynoe Nope! (Not yet, at least)
yup i sent it to lg to replace the board
+brent bynoe Sorry to hear that. Hope LG can do a quick repair for you.
me too
brent bynoe whats the status right now ?
I also have a Nexus 5x. its definitely the best phone in its
I've actually been in the market for a new phone and the Nexus series caught my attention so I'm glad I found this video. Do you think the 6P would be better?
I had a boot loop this summer, my nexus just rebooted itself and the google loading screen went on for an hour.
Anyone in 2019😋
Watching on my 5X !! 😁
Getting this phone for my birthday!!! Do they still work really good when it's been refurbished??
How do you buy new from google without project fi?
Great phone, stylish, great camera, no bootloop on mine, battery time is ok ~3-4h screen on time. For the price this phone costs you will not find anything even close
Battery life fore is excellent. Running pure nexus rom with elemental ex kernel. Made it to 50% with 2 and a half hours SOT
Just picked up a new one for 70 bucks
TheMoin2200 wtf where did you get it from? Does it still work?
Mike a local business was getting crushed by bigger companies so they had go shut down and had a huge sale on everything, it turns out they had 2 nexus 5 brand new each for 70 bucks and wasn't sold Cuz many people didn't know about nexus.
So I got both and sold one of them for 200 since it was brand new.
+Mike I just bought one in excellent condition for £100 off eBay while I wait for Pixel 2 or Essential phone to come out XD
So many good deals to be had
Which one should I buy P9 lite or Nexus 5x ? because there price is almost same.
will it work well on Android 7? im too afraid to upgrade it. plus mine is only 16gb. 😶
Great Video! Now that it's the end of 2017 can you recommend a phone you like better at a similar price?
My nexus 5x is working perfectly. Dropped it 250k times, it also hit concrete couple of times... havent experienced bootloop and I doubt i will. It's a pretty damn good phone for its price. So it makes no sense to compare it to s7 edge or iphone7 imo.
But the phone is actually so good that it can legit be compared to those. So yeah :)
i'm pretty sure it does have 60fps video recording, you just have to select that option every time
my friends 32gb and his wifes 16gb 5x fell to the bootloop cancer. one was refunded 100% the other was not since it was out of warranty. my 6p works great though.
What the best screen on time you got on it..? on heavy and light usage..
may I ask what video camera sis you use to record this video?
and, is the NEXUS 5X video is good for UA-cam videos?
안 그래도 요즘에 저렴하고 빠릿한 안드폰을 찾고 있는데 5x가 지금도 쓸만한지 궁금했거든요.
잘 보고 갑니다!
덧: 3.5mm 이어폰 잭은 사랑입니다.
the Nexus 5x was one of my favorite android phones when I first owned it, I could see the potential it had but it still wasn't quite ready for the big leagues. like he stated in the video the 2 GB of ram is simply not enough for power users, It would suffer from a lot of lag when running multiple apps. for me I'd usually run into a lot of lag when I had google maps and spotify on at the same time, some days they could run together no problem but other days the lag would be enough to freeze the phone. so with that said I can't recommend this phone in 2017, if you're looking for a budget phone and the 3T is out of your range I'm sure you can find a good deal on Swappa for a One Plus 3 instead
Mine went into boot loop and it took 4 months to get a new phone ... lg sent me a G5 for free with a case and battery cradle so I'm not complaining
My 5x just stopped working out of no where it keeps glitching on and off showing the Google logo can someone help ?
I've continuously pitted this camera against Galaxy S7's in low light and it's almost no match. It could certainly do with more RAM and a bigger battery but the camera is the deal-maker for me. Just make sure it's the 32GB one.
Your review helped a lot🤗 thnk u
I have a Nexus 5X and the speaker quality is very low in volume even at its maximum volume and also the speaker quality is very low and noisy when playing sounds/music. Does your Nexus 5X has the same case of speaker quality like my Nexus 5X speaker?
Lowe Antony Balean my N5X sounds awesome and I have it since 2015
***** Yes, and I hope Google has fixes about this issue on their next update.
Since you don't recommend buying it, what are similar phones (size and price) you'd recommend?
Rafael Barreto One Plus 3
mine bootloop problem, just got the problem a few days ago, still not working till now
my WiFi is not turning on it turns off itself
how to solve the problem
The 2Gb RAM is a bummer, I just wish it had at least 3Gb.
Anyway, I still use my Nexus 5X and have no problems with it except if running 3-4 apps simultaneously (i.e. Waze, Camera, FB, etc..)
how about in 2018, still worth it or not?
Nexus 5x or Moto G4? In Argentina cost the same.
Unavoidable bootloop problem? Might be unavoidable, but you can sure as hell fix it with TWRP.
I want to buy one. I have a 6P and I ordered a Project Fi sim. I want to out a data only sim in the 5X.
I'm still using it and like the design and it's too light and easy to hold compared to other phones. haven't had the bootloop issue and always been in beta programs.
I'd say the charging period mentioned in the video is rather wrong cause mine gets from 0 to 100 in 1 hour or less! I mean I am using the ElementalX kernel (issuing an exclusive "interactive plus" governor which extends the battery life noticeably without performance losses) with a custom rom featuring all pixel exclusives, but I clearly remember it charged as fast before unlocking the bootloader and custom roms and all...
i love my 5x but the occasional lag, i haven't boot looped yet
had mine for a year
excellent review man thanks
Just picked this phone up for 40$ on ebay in great condition for a backup phone
how does it cost now
I currently have a galaxy s4 does this phone have phone have worse battery life & if I buy it am I committing a down grade or upgrade
If I buy this phone now, will I have de boot loop problem?? you said this happens after a year of using it
