It is called "box office pull". You cast any other actress apart from alia for this role, no matter how well they do the role, they won't get you an opening. Unless you are casting deepika or priyanka instead or maybe katrina. But neither of them are age appropriate for this role. So, it was a no brainer for Karan to go directly to Alia. He could have easily gone to any of his other "nepo babies" but none of them could have produced this film like alia or possess any box office pull of their own. So, the decison was just a smart business decision which is what every producer should make.

she was so young when she started her acting career. like what 19-20? and ppl were so harsh on her for sounding immature and not being the smartest sounding person. Now that some time has passed, she has grown, gained experience, matured and just look at her now, proud of her.
I’ve always found Alia to be intelligent, right from the get-go, seeing through a few gaffes, immature, bubbly, carefree, fun presentation style, unbridled energy and talking as though she’s in her living room, and discern her astuteness also. I found it endearing and fun but felt scared for her bc I can also see why some people found it irritating and dismissed her as not bright, etc. Loving her maturity and ability to transcend the harshnessI and feeling so proud of her.

Very good questions Jammy! The conversation was insightful and well conducted. The teaser of Jigra worked for me so I am waiting to see it and I soo hope it will be good.
Looks like everyone sitting here made an effort to keep it original, organic and seem effortless. Alia's growth from Sania to Rani Chaterjee has been truly commendable. It is becoming a trend that when top actresses are cast after their marriage and child birth, they come up with strong emotional and action oriented movies. Love the trend, can't deny that. This is one way where we are trusting them a little more instead of writing them off as 'unfit' to act. Wishing the team great success.
Loved the way how passionately Alia ,Vasan & Vedang talked about the movie in this interview felt very raw & real , i just have a gut feeling that this movie is really going to be epic ,cant wait .
Since the announcement dropped of this film, i was so impressed by the aesthetics and poster of this. Gradually, with every upcoming promotional material it has impressed me a lot - i would not say 'excite' ki bus abhi hi dekhna hai yeh picture, but it gave me vibes of a project made with convection. Director's previous works like mard ko dard nahi hota and monica o my darling is assurance of a nicely cooked film. Now I'm excited. 💜
After such a long time have watched an organic and raw conversation between the interviewer and the crew promoting the film....The way Jammy puts up the questions it never came across jarring at any point of time ....I am so proud to see Jammy and Tried And Refused Productions grow like this.. subscriber since 2017... Loved the answers by Alia, Vedang and Vasan..
Vasan Bala seems like a person who has it figured out. He talks about stuff like such a chill person. I really liked his energy and perception of things.
Props to Anmol for such an insightful interview. I felt he was in control of the entire conversation and lead the interview in different spectrum of topics very seamlessly. And to do that without a paper in hand is very impressive. IMO Anmol might be at a level above others in the interview game. Not once did he try to be the main protagonist in the interview(which I feel is a genuine problem with interviewers now ). And yet he asked questions where the artists were forced to put in a thought and didn't give generic answers . Kudos!
At the time when interviews can either become a circus of tomfoolry or just straight doordarshan traumas - this was such a balanced one on spectrum. Big ups!
Such an interesting interview! Best way to have spent my 40 mins. Lovely to see you extract genuine conversations from artistes 🙌🏻. Soar higher, Jammy!
Karan to Bala: "this is how it works" Alia: 😂😂😂😂😂😂 I completely agree to her being a good actor but honestly she is always blessed with good scripts and that, plus the pr machinary calling her a "greatttt actress"blah blah, making us watch her in every other reel of insta adds a lot to it. Why can't we see actresses like Radhika Apte playing such roles, is she anyway a lesser talented girl than Alia?
There is full blown interview of Alia with Rajeev masand .. where she sounds so entitled like all good roles belong to her. She calls directors and tells them she will get upset if isn’t cast in a role. Now we know she locked herself in a room and threw a tantrum and bhansali gave her gangubai .. because she has to do a film with him. Ofcourse only because he worked with deepika. The only reason she can do this is because of Karan’s backing
Thank you for a wonderful interview with interesting questions, Jammy! I loved how Alia, Vedang and Vasan all answered with such enthusiasm. They know what they are doing. I am looking forward to Jigra. I know it is going to be another performance to remember from Alia. Hoping Vedang will also show he is an actor with great potential and has already built on what he showed in Archies.
1:55 seriously karan snatch the role and give it to alia ,, at least he had to let decide vasan sir to whom he want to work with, just now stop snatching some other ones opportunity and let others give a chance to proof themselves
THIS IS SO GOOD! Given how there is little to no media or interview promotion of the movie and we are given only so much of the movie's bits and part and made to adjust with just that much... AND IN THE MIDST OF THAT, JAMMY PULLS THIS OUT! GRATEFUL TO JAMMY FOR ASKING ALL THE QUESTIONS THAT WE AUDIENCE WERE CURIOUS ABOUT!
I think the kind of questioning that has been asked were the key roles that we got to listen insights and thoughts of Alia, Vedang and Vasan Sir very naturally. Such an insightful conversation. Kudos to Jammy ,Brother you never disappoint🎉🙌❤️

Hater will start crying 'Karan Papa' 'Nepo Baby ' etc🤡 While forgetting the fact that even the likes of Ananya Pandey, Sara Ali Khan, Jaahnvi etc too are getting steady stream of opportunities but even after 5+ years in the industry still failed to leave a mark. Even opportunities require Talent and Hardwork to encash it🙌 Alia could have easily been stuck playing the beautiful girl next door like Shraddha but instead chose to take risks while constantly improving her range and versatility as an actor without playing safe. Alia isn't as beautiful as Shraddha. That's why she suits this female centric roles more. Shraddha has an angelic type of beauty and screen presence , so those roles suit her more
@@famseditz But angelic actress is so so so mediocre, like flower pot. Only wears bikini & delivers dialogue pathetically! An actress should know how to act beautifully, she should be versatile not cute looking 🙄

And Alia made it and created her own niche while the likes of Deepika, Kangana, Katrina etc were ruling the commercial cinema. Yes it's a fact that her contemporaries like Shraddha, Kriti, Sara, Anushka are mediocre but that's not her fault😁
Vasan didn’t even get the opportunity to choose the actress he wanted, and I already sense this might be his weakest film to date. Karan Johar’s influence seems to be all over it. Alia will always come across as immature to me-she just can't act, and I don’t understand why people don’t see that. Being confident in front of the camera isn't enough; acting is a whole different skill set. Things would have turned out so differently if KJo had stuck to being just a producer, but that seems unlikely to happen.
Karan and Alia are so entitled. What the fuck is this behaviour? Stealing opportunities from other actors and depriving the director of choosing who he wants as an actor
Karan is the owner of dharma, he has the power to choose actors. So he pushes Alia, janvi to do every movie of his production house or use his contacts with other producers/directors
Didn't you heated what vasan said? Karan wants to bring vasan to Dharma, when vasan told this story, Karan immediately send this to Alia..like literally she gets the best choices served in a platter without any efforts..and here we talk about her script choices😏

No wonder Alia gets sooo many roles, she is good ,no denying but she is not the only Good Actress... #NepotismRox.. at this point I wonder if all these Nepotism babies have his photo also in pooja room to worship it😅😅
ikr
Coz he has worked hard to be in that position where he can literally have a say in everything
Lmaoo her non dharma movies are even better . 9O% of bollywoowd and south are nepotism and only few survives . lol she has an audience pull .thats what producer wants lmao .such bitter people .show what a producer when read a script though Alia would be perfect for a role and for investing their money .lmaoo such bitter loser yall are

Alia bhatt & Vasan Bala truly have cooked hard in this one every frame in trailer is just so cinematographically beautiful to look at, really hyped for this one.
Alia acted in the film. It was the cinematographer and the director who cooked in the frame.

Not gonna lie but Alia sounds so smart in this interview, As a viewer I can see she has developed a lot throughout the years, This makes me happy.
Yess so mature!!
she was so young when she started her acting career. like what 19-20? and ppl were so harsh on her for sounding immature and not being the smartest sounding person.
Alia with karan in the industry 🤡alia without karan in the industry 💩
8:54 Alia had no idea it was a compliment. Ah remembered the good ol AIB days . She's more cute when she does these 😂 ❤
It's clear when an actor is genuinely passionate about their craft, and Alia Bhatt exemplifies that love for her work. Can't wait to see the movie.

Kudos!
I wish and pray this movie to work for Bala sir, and Vedang specially. Alia to jigra hai hi ❤️
Criticism for something valid is not trolling
Jigra my foot another pampered film of her nanny Kjo with that animated cartoon Vedant who knows no expression other than smiling eewwww creepy
At the time when interviews can either become a circus of tomfoolry or just straight doordarshan traumas - this was such a balanced one on spectrum. Big ups!
First interview where Vedang is more talking and given screen time. And we want a cameo from Jammy as the brother in Jigra😅
27:25 jammy literally made her silent with his question for a second 😂
Lord Jammy supremacy after all 😂😂
It's not a sin to pause before giving an answer. Think before you speak as they say
It feels like you are a worthy successor to Anupam’s/film companion. Great interviewing skills and excellent questions!
Such an interesting interview! Best way to have spent my 40 mins. Lovely to see you extract genuine conversations from artistes 🙌🏻. Soar higher, Jammy!
Karan to Bala: "this is how it works"
Alia: 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I completely agree to her being a good actor but honestly she is always blessed with good scripts and that, plus the pr machinary calling her a "greatttt actress"blah blah, making us watch her in every other reel of insta adds a lot to it.
@@Besties591 gotta watch that interview now 💀
Thank you for a wonderful interview with interesting questions, Jammy!
Super proud to see female actors headlining Hindi films! More of this please :)
I really like the way Anmol engages with everyone and makes the conversation interesting ❤️
I am so happy and proud of you Jammy. You truly deserve the success. Hard work pays off always.. Long way to go..

Why was alia dubbed to say Rajamouli sir? 😅
That's how she might be referring him off camera .She was too engrossed in the discussion that she let it slip out infront of camera. This would put her in bad light .PR went overdrive. She must have send an audio of saying "SIR" .Jammy patched it together and now that "SIR" has become pain in their ass cause it's sticking out like sore thumb haha.
10:28 dubbed as Rajamouli sir, Before she said Rajamouli
So Pr curated Alia 😂
I don't understand why she can't say Rajamouli? ARE WE IN BRITISH INDIA?
@Hoiiiii8 😂😂 ask your father if he gets called sir by people.
@@valley-girl Maybe she mispronounced it? Lots of people call him Rajuh-mowlee. Doesn't matter. Deepika is still wrongly called Paa-doo-cone, and some call Katrina "Cat-reena".
Agree it or not her best performances came outside of Dharma productions only 😂
Alia isn't as beautiful as Shraddha.

I guess the director didn’t wanna cast Alia Bhatt coz he was not happy when Karan Johar send the half script to her through Email
He wanted to give her the full script
