Was video game addicted in my teens, am 24 years old but havent played any games in 4 years. Games became too boring and I hated the micro transaction and subscription part. The games felt more like a second job that I PAY FOR instead of entertainment. Never did any drugs. Dont need em, got to much fantasy. Watched porn, but wasnt really addicted to it. Stopped porn consumption eventually - didnt help my dating life whatsoever tho lmao. My largest and most powerful addiction that I seemingly cant overcome is just straight up information addiction. I am addicted to the phone and even beyond doomscrolling I am addicted to knowledge. Books, Television, Real Life experience. But with the phone especially. I sometimes use it 6 to 8 hours on average. My goal has been 2 hours a day but its seemingly impossible.
@@-schattenpflanze-3755 I completely understand what you're saying-this was exactly the same issue I faced. For years, I was stuck in the cycle of consuming information, hoping for some kind of breakthrough or clarity, but I was completely wrong. I realized that I was consuming content because I was searching for an answer to what I was supposed to do with my life. This lack of awareness followed me for most of my life, but it's starting to fade now. Why? Because I found something meaningful-something that not only changes me but also impacts the people around me. It’s not easy, but it’s absolutely worth it in the end. Here’s what I think you should do: start by implementing small, positive habits from the things you learn, whether from me or anyone else who inspires you. A single good habit a day can push bad habits out of your life, even if just a little. But the most important advice I can give is this: take action immediately after consuming information. That’s why I recommend focusing on content with actionable steps-videos or guides that help you move forward.
Tell me your addiction and i will try to help you if it's really messing you up.
