Fantastic rendition! Nice to see some individuality in dynamics and rubato without altering or embellishing the score. Too many players recite ragtime pieces as if they were imitating a player piano
@virtuosomusicschoolwvmd1334 well played, excellent, I love playing the entertainer myself, though when I play, I play it slower, as it helps to achieve the ragging effect ie the notes are drawn out to produce a syncopated melody, but this is no reflection on your playing, just my humble but very respectfull opinion, greetings from wales uk
@57thorns good point, and to be honest I used to play the entertainer fast, but I noticed that it was missing one very vital thing, and that is the ragging effect, when I play the entertainer and maple leaf rag at a slower tempo it sounds a lot better and I can hear that crucial ragging effect, but this is absolutely no reflection on the young ladies playing she done very well, thanks for ur comment, greetings from wales uk 😀
Very well done. I'd like to have heard a larger emphasis on the supporting bass line as the "action" gets going. this is the foundation of the Joplin tunes. Keep up the good work.
Wonderful video performance. 😊
This is the kind of performance that gives me chills every time I watch it. Amazing!

@@adrianthomas6244 It is still far from many of the speed rag renditions I have heard. But daring to go "slow" makes for more depth in the music.

"Too many players recite ragtime pieces as if they were imitating a player piano".
