No black people certainly aren't the only ones with soul but how many records would you want to play over the last 50 years had black artists not been included? There is a certain sound/emotion/soul that black artists are able to convey that very few white artists have, some white artists can turn an urban sound into something completely different and equally compelling ala Sting, Paul Weller, Teena Marie, Michael McDonald, Steely Dan etc who are up there with the best black artists but I don't believe that you can say that white people have the same sound as black people when it comes to making urban music. I also think that mainstream music has gone down the crapper since record labels have excluded urban black musicians and singers from mainstream music.
