After draining the oil, you'll need to turn the wheels to make sure everything drains out. A helper must hold the front wheels.

When you re threaded it did you use the same bolt or a larger one ?

A slightly larger bolt was used but not long after the whole diff was replaced just to be safe

I don't know what is worse, the stripped threads or all the filings that went into the diff by tapping the thread.
Honestly, unless I was going to pull the diff out and strip it down, I would have just put some sealer on the plug and put it back in.

Agreed 👍. It was flushed few times then to get the car moving as we had to attend a show the following day. However the diff was replaced not long after with a brand new unit :)

Wont cutting a new thread put some excess metal shavings in the diff? Or am i being retarded..

For sure does but flushing it out few times can help and revoke any contamination inside… always advise to take it apart but time was limited on that occasion
