I am an 82 year old guy and this collection is like a collage of memories all the way from my childhood thru my 50 year marriage to my loving wife. What a great job you did.
At 64 I’m one of four generations here who agrees with you. A shot of joy every time we watch. These incredible dance montages are timeless, and for anyone with heart.
I’m a 74 year old Vietnam Veteran and I lay awake EVERY night till about 2.30am listening to this music when music was music and I’m sure it keeps me alive and most cool 👍
Another 73 year old bundle of memories reporting in to say, "What a great way to celebrate the scenes that brought so much joy, excitement & laughter to our lives."
I cannot believe nearly 99% of these wonderful dancers are tapping it out in heaven! What fantastic memories these bring. At 66 yrs old, I can remember most of these movies. Just think...the new generation should watch and respect their elders to be sure..don't they wish they could be as cool as their Grandparents & Great Grandparents were???!! Next time they knock the "Boomers"...just watch this and realize these people looked better than them, danced better than they ever could begin and they are the "Boomers" Grandparents here!!! GREAT VIDEO Thanks
I am 73, male. I grew up seeing all these movies. I almost teared up watching this. Fantastic job. The timing was impeccable. So good it made me forget the original music. I'm going to use this list to either buy or find these movies to watch in their entirety. What memories.
I am 62 and the movie came 1984 and I love it, I use the music for my exercises everyday. And stay dancing with that energy of 20s. Thanks God for the energy he gives me.
This is amazing how someone could go through all of those different movies from many different movies and find dances to the rhythm of Footloose. That was just FANTASTIC!! My hats off to the person that put this together.👍👏
Great video collage. Thank you very much. Best part was reading "If anyone in the comments section tries to make this about politics, race, religion etc, then the comment will be deleted & you will be blocked, and if necessary, I will disable all comments". Sad but necessary these days. :-) Thanks again.
The amount of fabulous dancing talent back in the day. Unbelievable. Hollywood could not make a movie today such as then. And back it was done with ease!
I have this saved, and I watch it maybe 3 times a year, because it is so cool to me. It always brings a smile. Why have we strayed so far from being a people, a society that is involved together? This is all before social media, and it looks like we were better off then
I am 61 years old and my mother, bless her heart introduced me to these dancers. My favorite always has been and always will be Rita Hayworth. Wow.❤️❤️
I truly never get sick of watching this. I grew up watching all of these great MGM musicals and to see these amazingly talented people get a modern make over is just a joy.
The song is an absolute joy to listen to, and the video montage is a visual masterpiece. Even the most jaded among us would HAVE to feel something deep down watching this.
Hooooly shit this comes from big money! Ive never seen anything as smooth as this, it requires: True knowledge, real money, an understanding of history, and irony. I must say that this one looks like a full house.
The greatest achievement of these dancers is definitely smiling while doing the most grueling of dances so beautifully. Hats off to all of them! Hats off to you for creating this.
I'm 45 and watched all of these With my great-aunt, my mom; watching these just fills my hart with pure joy and love. Astounding. Thank you for the memories! 😍
I beg to differ...the video creator left out one of the most iconic movie dances of all time, "Singing in the Rain" the movie and song done by Gene Kelly. It is a good video, but just not praise-worthy enough imho.
This is one of the better collections I have seen of decades of styles of dancers and actors dancing to a classic song and I want to send this to my granddaughters who are only 87 and nine years old and just have been taking dance lessons for a couple years but I want them to appreciate what dancing can represent. These people are so talented in this video and many of them are not even alive today but the spirit of their dancing and their musicality will always be with us!! Thank you for putting this video together!!!! I only wished I could still dance because I used to love to dance♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
maaaan this was an absolutely fantastic cavalcade! finally someone did this song justice! and with humour, panache, a VAST movie culture, and an impressive ear for matching energy /movements/ and even lyrics!! Absolutely brilliant.
The Gorgeous Diane Lane Owned this Song, and Hit it way out of the Park. It truely was Magical. I was 23 years old, living in the San Francisco Bay Area at the time this Ultra Classic movie came out. O'hh what a Epic time in America to be truely Alive.."To be young"! Sadly this generation has "Nothing" that could ever compare to this early 80's Era. The World has drastically changed, and not for the better. This Song, this movie, Diane Lane.."Tonight is what it means to be young". It sure was, and so much more. 👨👩💖💕
I loved the way these dance movies were put together with it's timely beat of FOOTLOOSE music 🎶🎶🕺🕺🕺💃💃💃. Amazing beautifully made. Made my day!🕺🕺🕺💃💃💃🎶🎶🎶
This was really great! Very refreshing! Enjoyed watching everyone having such a good time!! Men were Gentlemen and the Women had CLASS...What a great era of dance and music... Good times! Thanks for this!
@@floppypoppylopyupasopymopy7015 - I too, sadly, have to agree...we just see too much of what you speak to. So much has been turned on its head. People scorn the very things that makes America beautiful, hopeful and appealing in exchange for doom and gloom, bad attitudes, self hate and everything Negative - it's all we see day in and day out and it's all very depressing. Which is why I am so grateful to stumble on videos like this. They take me away for a few minutes...
@User Name One would like to think so, but, not so much, especially for actresses. I have to disagree about the good manners, thing, as well. Good manners were for the righteous and all the rest were curs. When movies and then tv came out, the vaudville business just went there. Up 'til then, vaudville was just a continuous on the road circuit, and ain't nothing classy or mannerly about that life. They put on a good show, though, for their righteously good customers, and that carried on into forties and fifties video.
One of my favorite songs, by one of my favorite musicians, from one of my favorite movies, staring one of my favorite actors...and in a montage of many of my favorite all-time dancers! Only thing missing was a more prominent clip of Kevin Bacon himself. Expertly done!
this is my kind of music that I won't never get tired of watching. I've seen many of these movies. They make me go back to my youth years. Thank you for sharing. Beautiful memories.
Oh yes, me too - I really needed this happiness, was beautifully put together. You should check out the fairly recent video of Toni Basil still ass-kick dancing at age 74 - so many of her moves are in so many of these clips - she was a choreographer for Viva Las Vegas, one of the films shown.
I really enjoyed this, what an impression these dancing stars made on me. At 79 years old, their names instantly came to me, how can I spot June Alyson, Mitzi Gaynor, Gene Kelly, Jane Russell, etc instantly and not remember if I ate lunch today.? LOL
I’m 68 old female who has seen every one of these dance routines, you do a brilliant job, so much so that I have never commented on anything before. Please keep it up.
What an ⚡️AMAZING⚡️collection of moves‼️ And my hat is off to every one of those choreographers who see all of this in their heads and then bring it to life for the rest of us👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This is without a doubt the best dance video ever made. The synchronizing of all these dancers of different styles and different eras to the song is just fantastic. Nice touch with "Mary" starting it off and then finishing it too.
FANTASTIC ! UNREAL. ! What an incredible work to have synchronized the music from the movie Footlose with all these ancient pictures ! I'm 80 but have enjoyed this clip as if i was again a teenager. Wow!
That was absolutely amazing ...who knew these old novies had steps that matched the song "footloose" !!?? I think I have seen all these movies and they were great during those times. God bless America Merry Christmas 🎄 to you all. And hopefully a great great 2021.
There are a lot of these kind of videos. I used to think, even though these movies were staples when I was a kid, that modern dancers were better. Watching the old ones put to modern music? Not so much now.
i grew up loving disco and breaking..but i wish i could have been around in the early part of the century to experience all the greats as they were happening..dance is the truth..
Its October 25th, 2022 and I bet I have watched this video over a thousand times and it still amazes me. I can't even imagine the hours upon hours of searching for dance clips that go exactly with the song. Fantastic work....
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY ONE OF THE BEST DANCE VIDEOS EVER!!! Just unbelievable syncing of the rhythm and music and lyrics to the dance scenes is absolute perfection!! Bravo!!
Genius editing - so good to see the golden age of Hollywood again that I grew to love because of my dear Mum and Dad wrapped up in a movie and music of my era!
I have to observe that Ann Miller is a particular favourite as she went through so much to make it in show biz. A difficult childhood, followed by difficult marriages yet not a hint of it in any of her performances. She really was a star and lit up the screen
Nice to see someone else appreciate Ann Miller. I've been a fan for years, when she was alive too. She actually was only 13 when she got into show biz, by faking a birth certificate to show her as 18. She was a well developed and talented 13 yo.
Brilliant Compilation, brings back watching TV with your parents and watching REAL family Films, this makes me feel happy inside ,well done kingofkungfu
I can't tell you how much I absolutely LOVE watching this! I've seen many of these movies and they are so seamlessly synchronized to the song, it's unreal! It's like getting a shot of adrenaline mixed with pure joy with every repeat viewing. Thank you!
I totally agree! The editing and synchronization of song to movie is amazing...right down to hand claps and knee references ( "knee" is sung and dancers are either going down to or getting up from their knees). I can't dance for spit, but I sure do love watchin' folks that can do it well!
Never before have I laughed at the scene when Donna Reed breaks the record but I did watching this! It was hilarious. This was so well done. Genius for sure.
@@spaceghost8995 Yes, this video is a reflection of history where there were a lot of white people on the big screen and very few people of color. You can point that out. But why? People are coming here to enjoy seeing people from the past dance to modern music. It is actually a unifying thing. Many people from the present have not been able to appreciate that the dancers from way back before their time were just as talented and interesting to watch as dancers in the present. It is not that black dancers are not represented here. They are amazing. If Michael Jackson, whom you would agree is believed to be the greatest dancer of the 20th century, learned from and appreciated the talents of Fred Astair and Cid Charice enough to pay tribute to them in his work, then you can enjoy this video with the rest of those who are here watching simply because it is a great piece of work.
If youtube gave awards for best videos in various categories, this video should be nominated. And all of the great achievements in film that you crafted together always be recognized and appreciated.
Great stuff. When I was a teenager I was too shy to get out on the dance floor and then came the song 'You Can't Sit Down', by the Dovells. And I couldn't. Sit down. My partner and I won a twist contest and that was all she wrote. I've loved to dance in public ever since.
This one ruined all the others for me! It was brilliant! The best one I've ever seen by far! I loved all of the old scenes. I lost it when she broke the LP at the end. BRAVO!!!
Absolutely love this! Lately I’m becoming addicted to the old Hollywood movies which I never thought would happen. Currently obsessed with Joan Crawford - absolute Hollywood royalty! I watched Mildred Pierce last week, loved it.
Dancers at the top of their game, as you see from my profile I hail from the Rockabilly scene, 30+ years ago my pal did a dance style called the Phantom, he literally looked like he was floating inches off the ground also he and a small group of friends developed a swing dance style that through their desire to get laid is now danced around the world! Like a rockabilly STD!!🤣

You're phenomenal.

@@fabrice-emmanuelory282 Done. :) Sorry, been busy making a new one. ;)
I am an 82 year old guy and this collection is like a collage of memories all the way from my childhood thru my 50 year marriage to my loving wife. What a great job you did.
I love this! Iam 52yrs
Pp
64 here I love it
At 64 I’m one of four generations here who agrees with you. A shot of joy every time we watch. These incredible dance montages are timeless, and for anyone with heart.
66 years young here. 😉 I wish someone would add the names of the movies to the screens. I know some but would like to watch the others.
I’m 71 and remember almost every one on those movies. Life is short. Enjoy it while you can! Thanks for sharing!
I’m a 74 year old Vietnam Veteran and I lay awake EVERY night till about 2.30am listening to this music when music was music and I’m sure it keeps me alive and most cool 👍
No wonder they were all so thin - all that energy is just astounding !
Really? I thought the only one with impeccable timing was Uptown Funk The others were just so-so.
Love watching the dance. I can't criticize what I don't do
I am 62 and the movie came 1984 and I love it, I use the music for my exercises everyday. And stay dancing with that energy of 20s. Thanks God for the energy he gives me.
This is how you honor a song, while at the same time honoring the movies that encapsulated an era. 😎👍🏾
This was a blast! God I love those old movies, they could really hoof it in those days. Now I need to watch alot of these movies again.
This is amazing how someone could go through all of those different movies from many different movies and find dances to the rhythm of Footloose. That was just FANTASTIC!! My hats off to the person that put this together.👍👏
If there is ever a Hall of Fame for editing, this has to the first inductee.
This screams that rhythm is universal, different generations, different songs, different eras, but they all move in the same magic of rhythms.
The days before wire work and CGI tech when people had to have real talent and dedication to the art of entertainment.
I commend you for this BRILLIANT well put together video. Worth a sub
I need moments like this. Puts a smile on my face and God knows we need more smiles.
Wow.❤️❤️
編集の天才や!楽しく視聴しました、ありがとう。
I truly never get sick of watching this. I grew up watching all of these great MGM musicals and to see these amazingly talented people get a modern make over is just a joy.
I FREAKING LOVE WHEN THEY USE OLD MOVIES WITH MUSIC VIDEOS 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘😎😎😎
WONDERFUL to see the legends dancing in time to modern music.
Thank you!!!
We are so lucky to live in this time
How can anyone feel low when you watch people like this....I feel really good after watching this stuff, don't you?
Proof that dance is timeless and belongs in any era.
Hats off, for sure!
I will watch this a MILLION TIMES. My mom love this song & sang it ALL THE TIME!!
Whoever put this together appreciates the older film's like I do. Incredible job!!!
the guy who posted it made it. Check out his latest one if you haven't. It's even better. O.O ua-cam.com/video/xVuIVP6Pef8/v-deo.html
Not to mention how perfectly in sync the dancing was to the music.
Love seeing Charlie Chaplin grooving to Footloose
Agreed!

Agree .. wonderful memories..I'm ,65 ..learned the dance moves ..sadly I'm 65 😊. But ..I had fun
Uptown Funk is a masterpiece - and this is in the same caliber! WELL DONE!
That just could NOT have been done any better! On the beat, sensitivity to the text- amazing!
I beg to differ...the video creator left out one of the most iconic movie dances of all time, "Singing in the Rain" the movie and song done by Gene Kelly. It is a good video, but just not praise-worthy enough imho.
I couldn't sit still...the energy of the music and fabulous dancers and flawless editing comes together FANTASTICALLY!!!
I was dancing in the shower to it, almost had a nasty accident on the soap!
My Goodness! WHAT AN AWESOME VIDEO!!! Thanks for sharing this one! Wow!!
I loved seeing those long-gone folks. And now I want to watch all of those movies all over again!
Brillant composition of movies. Sure one of my favourite videos from now on.
I Am 97 years old and remember all of them, what a great and good time,s ...thank you want to send this to some of my yonger generation !
Good to see Vera Ellen's incredible dance work get the spotlight she deserved
The Gorgeous Diane Lane Owned this Song, and Hit it way out of the Park. It truely was Magical. I was 23 years old, living in the San Francisco Bay Area at the time this Ultra Classic movie came out. O'hh what a Epic time in America to be truely Alive.."To be young"! Sadly this generation has "Nothing" that could ever compare to this early 80's Era. The World has drastically changed, and not for the better. This Song, this movie, Diane Lane.."Tonight is what it means to be young". It sure was, and so much more. 👨👩💖💕
Well obviously Astaire, Kelly, the Nicolas Brothers, and Ginger Rogers, but MAN, Donald O'Connor was really something else!! Really enjoyed this!!
I loved the way these dance movies were put together with it's timely beat of FOOTLOOSE music 🎶🎶🕺🕺🕺💃💃💃. Amazing beautifully made. Made my day!🕺🕺🕺💃💃💃🎶🎶🎶
Not a frame wrong. Amazing craftmanship. Thank you for the pleasure that you give evry time I watch this clip.
THIS IS FREAKING AWESOME!!!
This was just the movies, there wasn't quite so much class in the reality of making some of these movies.
An absolute delight.... dancing is so uplifting and fill me with happiness. Love trying to figure out who they all are. Thank you for doing this x
this is my kind of music that I won't never get tired of watching. I've seen many of these movies. They make me go back to my youth years. Thank you for sharing. Beautiful memories.
The entire time, I had the biggest, dumbest smile on my face, this was wonderful
With a tot of whisky this is good stuff ....
Me too 😊
Oh yes, me too - I really needed this happiness, was beautifully put together. You should check out the fairly recent video of Toni Basil still ass-kick dancing at age 74 - so many of her moves are in so many of these clips - she was a choreographer for Viva Las Vegas, one of the films shown.
Despite what 300 million lost souls think ... this drug is better than marijuana
Me too this was amazing👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

I really enjoyed this, what an impression these dancing stars made on me. At 79 years old, their names instantly came to me, how can I spot June Alyson, Mitzi Gaynor, Gene Kelly, Jane Russell, etc instantly and not remember if I ate lunch today.? LOL
OMG! The whole thing is a masterpiece but the part with Elvis in is so brilliant it creases me up every time! Bravo!😊👏👏👏👏
It just goes to show that the rhythm of music has been around for almost 100 years. The right beat and every dance melds into one.
The timing of “I’ll hit the ceiling” with Fred Astaire was pure magic!
How can anyone not "like" this? Absolutely superb!
God bless America
Merry Christmas 🎄 to you all.
I bet these pioneers could still step on a dance floor these days to modern music, and the crowd would still stop and watch them in awe :o)
so well put together.class.!
Bravo!!
I totally agree!
I love watching people dance together. These dancers are awesome and just wanting to express themselves while entertaining us.
Love Ann Miller, Debbie Reynolds and all the rest. Enjoyed this video. THANKS
This is so well done. I can’t even imagine trying to put all these songs together to match footloose. Well done and so fun to watch.
Genius editing - so good to see the golden age of Hollywood again that I grew to love because of my dear Mum and Dad wrapped up in a movie and music of my era!
This is what I call trophy choreography. All of the best of the best in one video. Bravo 👏🏆
Know some of the films, from the up load,! Again a great upload,! God Bless from northern Ireland UK, 🤝🇬🇧
The work of searching the old movie / music / dance scenes to get these perfectly coordinated - well, it’s nothing less than brilliant!
Footloose is 2 movies the story is same but the cast is different I'm lucky to have both the DVDs and I never get tired of watching them
I have to observe that Ann Miller is a particular favourite as she went through so much to make it in show biz.
Whoever created this masterpiece is a GENIUS!!! Congratulations and thank you!!!
Excelente la compaginacion, brillante!!! Muy profecional!!!
Brilliant Compilation, brings back watching TV with your parents and watching REAL family Films, this makes me feel happy inside ,well done kingofkungfu
This one is the Best!!! Love it when Donna Reed Happily runs over to her "State of the Art" record player to play "Footloose". :-)
Great way to start the song.
Excellent job. The scenes are well matched to the song. Very nice! I wish all of the old actors could have seen their dancing put to modern music.
This is awesome !!!
Just sheer joy to watch. Love every one of these. It makes you want to dance with all our great movie stars. Thank you so much.
Hello Elizabeth, How are you doing?
What an era we have been fortunate to live, I consider myself very lucky. Did a lot of dancing through the years. Thank you
The old movies were the best ... Actors had Real talent back then and inspired positive messages ... ❤️
I agree with you 100%😀😀😀
Also a whole lot of whitewashed bullshit.
And all were white!
@@nancypatricia511 That is not what whitewashed means.
If youtube gave awards for best videos in various categories, this video should be nominated. And all of the great achievements in film that you crafted together always be recognized and appreciated.
Brilliant! It is all to the beat! All kicks, swirls, hand claps, everything goes with the music! Best that I have seen!
Well, looking at the comments below... I"m only yet 59 and still remember the most of them all... Very Good VJ Love It
Great stuff.
BRAVO!!!
Loved that! Ends with Ann Miller. Man, could she spin!
She's my favorite...she dances beautifully...!!!!
Absolutely love this! Lately I’m becoming addicted to the old Hollywood movies which I never thought would happen. Currently obsessed with Joan Crawford - absolute Hollywood royalty! I watched Mildred Pierce last week, loved it.
I had to laugh when I saw the clip from the break dance movie I saw in high school!!! It was fun trying to see how many movies I could recognize!!!
At times O'Connor, Astaire & Kelly look like they are not expending any effort in their dancing, they float. Incredible.
Excellent work, many thanks.
Like a rockabilly STD!!🤣
what?
@@SHALAt22 I think nibirulives is also making a joke about how infectious a dance style can be
