Does your double bass balance feel off? If you have a hard time balancing behind the kit, you understand how important it is to have proper balance on your double pedals. This is especially true if you're using the ankle motion double bass technique.
Effectively playing your double pedals requires you to be able to control either of your feet, and trying to do so will affect your body’s balance.
So, in this video I want to give you a few balance exercises off and on the drums that will help you develop better balance on your double pedals which in turn will help prevent you from falling over or from leaning too far backwards, forwards, or sideways

Nice! Cameron!! This video paired with the throne height vid has helped me realize that my drumming posture has been off for years! Thanks!!

Awesome, thank you. It's a small but much needed detail. Do you ever feel that your slave pedal is not extended long enough? My right leg is snug but my left leg would love to extend about an inch or more to the left.

@@revb14n The piece we are looking for is called a "Driveshaft", the piece that extends and connects both pedals; but about 99% of listings for Double Bass Pedals do not include the width (or any measurements for that matter.) I measured my driveshaft and it was about 17 inches. Most driveshafts that are sold separately are 22 inches, I'm thinking about buying one pretty badly.

That sounds like you sit off to the right a little more. This could be from where and how you position your bass drum. If you slide your bass drum over to the right, would that be of any help?

I used to feel this way. Practicing every single day fixed this.

Hey Cameron! when one of the axis beaters is off the center, does it affect your feel/playing?

Yes. But by how much? I'm not sure. I believe their newly designed pedals have something to help compensate for that.

When I do play, it's two single pedals.... Cause of old school influence
