    This is a build video with a couple additional tweaks.
    The previous videos on this were #1 a review of the workstation I built, and #2 was some updates to that.
    Since Worksharp has discontinued the Tool Work Bar and the Wide Blade Attachment Table, see this video on a workaround: • Worksharp 3000 Sharpen...
    A viewer did suggest to use a nut below and above the feet of the unit (instead of washers) to allow for a more precise alignment of the table. That may require some changes to the other height designs. See video on this update at: • Worksharp 3000 Worksta...

    Very detailed and concise explanations of every step. Well done! Might be making one of these

    Nice video. Didnt think i would watch it all, but once i started i had to see how it turned out. I liked hearing you go through the thought process of solving the problems. Great results.

    What a great video. I made one yesterday using a combination of Stumpy Nub's plans and your video/plans. You made it much easier to build with your very well explained and detailed video. I always panic come glue up time, but your detail to multiple dry fits really helped me catch minor errors before the glue went on - thanks! Already subscribed, but thumbs up for such helpful videos. Thank you so much for sharing and helping people.

    Thank you so much for making this video... it was a pleasure watching you work so neatly, cleanly, and precisely. My workstation is not nearly as good, but it gets the job done, and it is a pleasure to finally have sharp chisels! BTW, FYI, there is a Jet bar available from Axminster: www.axminster.co.uk/jet-wetstone-support-arm-extension-assembly-200412

    Nice job. It's an improvement over Stumpy's original.

      Thank you! One must give credit to Stumpy for the original. We then make refinements to suit our needs. That is what is great about sharing on UA-cam. 🙂

    Thanks for you very detailed videos on the WS3000 workstation. I’ve made a similar workstation. I looked below and also looked at the plans on your website but could not locate the additional information (re: 1:02 - 1:12 in your video) concerning alternatives to the discontinued worksharp toolbar. I did see the information on how you use Tormek jigs and also watched the Woodworkers Guild video on lathe tool sharpening. Any suggestion or advise about alternatives to the toolbar will be appreciated.

      @GaryLundgrenCrafts  5 років тому

      Thank you! That alternative for the Worksharp 3000 Tool Bar (that is not available anymore) will be in my next coming video on how I use the Worksharp for sharpening various tools. Thanks for your patience!

    Hello Gary, congratulations! What disk is this used to fix the sandpapers? You did? Thanks

    • @GaryLundgrenCrafts
      @GaryLundgrenCrafts  6 років тому

      Thank you! I used two kinds of discs to attach the sandpaper to. These are listed in the description also.

    Looks like making one wide drawer makes a hinge point under your machine - takes away critical support to keep things from sagging. Any issues with that or is the backboard enough? When I build mine I might either double the plate under the machine or add a chunk of angle in the top of the drawer cavity to stiffen it. I love the 3000 BTW - I got one as a gift a cpl years ago - amazing how good the system works.

    • @GaryLundgrenCrafts
      @GaryLundgrenCrafts  5 років тому

      Thank you! It is holding well for me. When I decided to do that I tested how much load it would hold with a couple cinder blocks. Was going to do a typical 1/4" back board and decided 1/2" would give better support.

    Do you have plans for sale for this worksharp work station? I bought the ones from stumpy nubs but I like yours better plus I have the tormex bar to mount as well. Thanks for some really good videos. I am not far enough along to build anything without the dimensions or plans. I’m a real beginner. Thanks again for your help.

    Hi Gary, I am looking create a detail about the discontinued wide blade attachment # WSSA0002020. I don't have access to one to reverse engineer a solution. Hoping you or others here can help, clear pictures could help, better would be pictures with dimensions

    • @GaryLundgrenCrafts

      Thank you! Unfortunately I no longer have that attachment so I can give you dimensions or pictures.

    Hello, nice job. I noticed that you put the rack to the left of the 3000, but in Stumpy Nubs he put it to the right of the unit. Was that a conscious decision? Can you please explain? Thanks.

    • @GaryLundgrenCrafts
      @GaryLundgrenCrafts  5 років тому +1

      Thank you! I probably explained why I reversed the plan in the first video on this. I should have explained that again. I reversed it so I could have access to the see through sanding disc from beneath the disc. Also so I could use the Worksharp Tool Bar (which is no longer available). Stumpy used a work bar in a different configuration. Soon I am publishing a video on mounting a Tormek work bar to this design. Thanks!

      @@SpatialGuy77 Thanks. Dictionary: Plagiarism is the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own. I gave credit to Stumpy and links to where one can buy his plans. I just made modifications that suited my needs and thought others would like that. Thanks.

    To make the two surfaces perfectly flat with each other, why didn’t you use the bolts with large flat washers and lock nuts? put 4 large washers on 4 lock nuts on the bottom of the machine feet and do the same on the top and then adjust the lower nuts up to the exact height and lock em down with the top lock nuts. You can micro adjust the height rather than jury rigging it with all sorts of spacers?

      Thank you! Great idea! I like that. Coming up sometime I'm going to be doing a video on how I use this sharpener, and my system of sharpeners. I have 3 of them. I'll have to mention this. I should implement that mod and do an update on that video. There was one other who made a similar suggestion a few months ago. I'll have to take that into account also. Thanks for the suggestion!

    • @GaryLundgrenCrafts

      Thanks again for your suggestion for leveling the unit. I've finally taken the time to do as you suggested. Great idea! I'm going to do a short video about that as an update/addendum. Would you mind if I give you credit as it was your idea? Can I mention your name? Let me know if you would like me to identify you differently. Thanks! Gary

    very nicely done. nice mods. though you could've got this all done faster if you had used Duct Tape.

      Thank you! Ha ha. I save the duct tape when I get a cut, sometimes a gash. Grab some paper towel and duct tape and fashion myself a band aid. Thanks!

    What about using plywood??

    • @GaryLundgrenCrafts
      @GaryLundgrenCrafts  6 років тому +1

      Thank you John Doyle for your comment! I greatly appreciate your comments as I get great ideas from you.
      Plywood would work as well. Certainly a lot less heavy than MDF. Also plywood is not as susceptible to high humidity if you live in a humid area. I don't have a lot of humidity here and I used what scraps I had on hand. Thanks!

      Thank you. I do mention and give a link to Stumpy's plans. My video is just a modification of the layout. Basically reversing the plans and other changes that suit my needs. I do like giving credit to the original author and just showing my tweaks. Thanks
