Today, I am playing with some new makeup and do have to give a heads up that I am NOT having a good skin day. I am testing the new Guerlain L'Essentiel Natural Glow Foundation + playing with the new Roen Beauty Palettes. I have got some thoughts on both....
I hope you enjoy this video and as always love to hear what your thoughts are on these products if you have tried them.

The foundation looks so beautiful on you -- I may have to just try it even though it has fragrance.
Hi Abby, I too was looking forward to the Roen eyeshadow palette but also had the pigment fade away leaving me with sparkly lids. The foundation looks really nice on you. It was the first purchase I made during the Sephora sale, but I haven’t had a chance to do my wear test. Soon hopefully!

I love this foundation and have been using it since March . Wore it to my niece’s wedding and it lasted all day. Such a beautiful finish.

Oh No! The CT Airbrush is most definitely a no way!!! The Guerlain looks so pretty and natural even with your skin not being in tip top shape..very nice😊

Thank you for reviewing this foundation! I really value your opinion and since you gave it a thumbs up I am going to purchase it while it is still on sale. I would kindly like to request if you would do a ranking of all the new foundations you have tried over the past few weeks. I am interested in your thoughts as you compare all the ones you recently tried. Thank you again, Abby! You are the BEST! Oh, I almost forgot, the Roen eyeshadow is a big pass for me.

Hi Abby, I have the Roen shadows. I find I get minimal fallout when I pat it into place. Plus, try doing your eyes first. And, you may have better luck with adherence if you prime your lids.
The Guerlain L’Essentiel looks so natural and radiant without looking oily on you. The finish is just gorgeous. I’ve tried a few of the newly released foundations including CT Flawless Airbrush, KA Foundation Balm, L’Essentiel, and the newly formulated Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer. L’Essentiel is my favorite of the bunch once I found the right shade. 4N was too red/cool, so I ordered 3W which is perfect since it darkened a tad after dry down. The finish and wear of L’Essentiel reminds me of Cle de Peau’s Radiant Skin Foundation. The KA Foundation Balm is beautiful when used in small amounts, provided a natural matte coverage but wasn’t as radiant. The LM tinted moisturizer was natural and radiant although provided a little less coverage than L’Essentiel. I could see myself throwing that on for an effortless look when running out to run errands. CT Flawless Airbrush was medium to full coverage once applied in a small amount but got more radiant not oily through the day. I just need to find a better shade match. I have combo/oily skin.
OOh this is all great info!! I skipped the KA Balm since I did not think it would be great for my dry skin and you are right!! I was trying to remember what this foundation reminded me of and the CdP Radiant is a good description. I have not tried the LM Tinted but that is on my list. I'm in love with this foundation . I have to get two shades to get my exact match. I love the Roen shadows but I personally have to do a lot steps to make it work for me because if I don't it will crease in minutes
Illeana- what shades did you get to mix? I am thinking I might need to do that as well. And thank the lord it is not only me that found them to be so pretty but a little hard to keep on. Thank you for sharing. xoxo
The Guerlain is naturally beautiful on you. I like the shade, too. Abby, no need to apologize for the reaction on your skin. Trust me, I know rosacea struggles, and I couldn’t even test any new product during a flare up. Bless you for that.

Great video. I wanted to see what you thought of the Guerlain foundations. Interesting that a number of us seem to have had a bad reaction to the CR foundation. My skincare is still pretty red and raised but on the road to recovery. Yes I will also skin patch to test before having a new product all over my face.

Hi Abby, Thanks for sharing your skin struggles with us, and carrying on in spite of them. I wouldn't of really noticed and the foundation looks good to tone down the problem. I never really figured out what causes me to have a rosacea flare up. I use Finacea azelaic acid to calm down a break out. Medik8 Beta Gel blemish gel also seems to calm down the spot. I don't use as many products as you, but still can't narrow down the suspect. I always blame stress. I'm not into the sparkles sprinkles migrating down my face either.
M Wall-- I have been trying to figure out what causes my outbreaks too - but have not narrowed it down either. I am under some stress and then something in that foundation was making my skin itch- and then next thing you know- the bumps have arrived!!! Probably a bunch of factors. It is starting to calm down today-thank the LORD!! And yes- sparkles look cute on the young ones- but not necessarily on ME! LOL! xoxo
@@AbbyBlissWhite Oh, and I also use the at home LED red lights machine. I'm currently using the Pure Rayz one. Helps calm down any rosacea bumps very well. It's made by the same company that makes the Baby Quasar and Quasar (probably even better editions)

Abby, I’m so sorry that the CT flared up your rosacea. My skin does exactly the same thing when irritated by a product. You were brave to try another product when your skin was angry😘. I am on my second bottle of Glo Skin based on your recommendation and I love it! Definitely my favorite sunscreen under make up.
Marjorie- it was probably not the best idea!! LOL! But so far - the Guerlain has not upset my skin more. Doing a nice soothing mask tonight. Too much NEWNESS for my skin. xoxo

Yve Yve-I prefer the Chanel Eyeliners - I just could not find my Chanel Marine! I also LOVE, LOVE, Hourglass Gel Eyeliners! They are only $18.00 but don't last long. The Chanel last the longest for me- so are worth the extra $8.00 from the Marc Jacobs. BUT - you can get the Marc Jacobs on SALE right now.

Great review. I think I liked the way the Purure Gold looked on you a little better. Wondering what you think now that you’ve tried the two from Guerlain?
I am going to do a side by side comparison of both of those for you guys. I like the Purure Gold because it has a bit more coverage than the L'Essentiel but really liked the skin-like quality of the L'Essentiel if my skin had been better that day. I will keep you posted on my thoughts. xoxo
Thank you for this review. The Roen (cool) palette looked beautiful, but I had the suspicion that there would be glitter fallout. Thank you for confirming my suspicion! And is it weird that I thought you were describing a perfume/cologne rather than a foundation? It's like they got the copy confused at Guerlain 😉

Hi Abby! I played with mine today (the exact same products!) Love the foundation but had glitter fallout everywhere from the Roen, especially when it dries down. I don’t think the fallout was your fault, unfortunately. Colors are very pretty on you!
Oh Heather! That makes me feel better. I am having an OFF makeup day but wanted to get this review up in case people wanted to catch these products at the Sephora Sale... but holy moly- I have got glitter all over my face! LOL! The Roen was another brand - I wanted to love but I look a MESS right about now. xoxo
Hi Abby...thanks for doing this video. I am just worried about the fragrance but love how it looks. So if you get sparkles on your face use one of those little hand held fans that you can buy at the dollar store or Walmart or Target. It blows them off. I love the Glow SPF and I also love the face cleanser. I love how the powder turns into a light milky lather and my skin and feels so soft after. Would not have known about that company if you hadn't mentioned it.
I need to buy one of those fans ASAP! LOL! It has been a glittery kind of day! I got a nice sample of the cleanser too and it is great! SO excited and want to try more from that brand. xoxo
I’m not seeing artificial or natural fragrance in this one unless I’m missing it. The Tilbury foundation has 3 in it ,and I’m sure my mild rosacea would react in the same way.
I’m going to get a sample or maybe just order this. i’m going to be the mother of the bride next summer and am on the hunt for the best foundation i can find that will last long and wear off gracefully.

Julie- I am pretty sure it has some fragrance in it- but I will double check for you. Definitely grab a sample of it! It might be perfect for the wedding. We will need to check and see if it has flashback from the SPF20 too! You don't want that in your photos. xoxo
The foundation is beautiful on you! I also like the shadow even though it looks a little fussy to work with. Today I’m wearing the CT foundation and I wish I had tried a sample because it’s not working for me. It’s so thick, mask-like, emphasizes wrinkles and sort of itchy. It reminds me of stage makeup from the 80’s. I might attempt wearing it with some face oil. Overall, I don’t think that it is mature friendly.

The Fenty definitely has more coverage but still looks very skin-like and is cheaper. The Guerlain is a light to medium coverage and very second skin like as well. They both boast skincare benefits and they both have fragrance. They both are longwear. Hmm.... I think I might like the Fenty the best due to the higher coverage - but once my skin is in better shape- then will be happier with Guerlain. Does that make sense??

Hi Abby, Foundation is very pretty. Can you use the two-faced glitter glue for the shadows? It works well with sparkly shadows -- they don't fade out on me (both creams and shadows).
Looking forward to the Sisley foundation (do I feel a collab coming up?) Either way, I'm curious to see it. You know I use the Sisleya foundation - that and La Mer are holy grails for me. But on the daily I use tinted moisturizers and tinted sunscreens.

Hi ... I’m sorry that happened but the same thing happens to me when I try a product that doesn’t agree with my rosacea rashy prime skin . My favorite helpers are Paula’s choice niacinamide booster which is so good for calming as well as Obagi Retivance ... and truly cerave pm moisturizer has all good things... also if you don’t already watch Renee (gothamista?) she has tips for skin barrier disruption and rosacea... Also I bought that foundation but couldn’t get past the fragrance... just received my Roen palette... will be trying tomorrow!!!!
I LOVE Rene and have wanted to buy the Niacinamide Booster for quite some time. And I think I have the Cerave PM in my house- I always keep that around!! My skin is feeling better already but man- I hate those little eruptions! Bummer about the fragrance but I am sure we have plenty of other foundations to play with. Thank you!! xoxo

Sasha- I think the 2N would be the right match! I wish there was a 2.5N but there is not! I remember swatching with Penny the 3N and it was too dark- so stick with 2N. I hope this helps. xoxo
Hi Sasha, I bought both 1N and 2N when the foundation came out via Selfridges. I also wear LM in cashew and believe I would be a 20 in the Chanel. I find the 2N slightly too dark. It oxidizes very slightly. Recommend going with the 1N. I wear the 1N!
My CT foundation is supposed to arrive tomorrow. I don’t think I even want to try it now! So sad.
Oh Deborah- definitely give it a try! I have moody AF skin and you never know what thing will cause the irritation. You might end up loving it. I would definitely moisturize well first and move fast in sections. Light hand- you don't need a lot of product. Keep me posted on what you think. xoxo
try patch testing it on one part of your face:) that way you can see if you get a reaction first!
@@taylorschulz8467 Definitely going to do that in the future. I have never had issues with Charlotte products - and was SO excited to try it - I just went for it without thinking about it. Will be more careful in the future.

Probably will still just order the Opalex system for now. I would suggest the Vintner’s daughter and their newer Essence. I really find them wonderful for the skin.

I had a sample of this Guerlain foundation and I found it really oxidised on me.... around the outer of the face especially. I have dry skin and although it has no alcohol in the formula I found it drying. Its a shame as I love Guerlain perfumes and other foundations of theirs.

Sorry your skin had the bad reaction by the CT foundation. Guerlain one does give you such a natural satin look and love it. I wish it doesn’t have fragrance in it since I stay away from any products with it. The eye shades transform more intense on skin and they are so unique. Both of them are definitely the great buys.

That is a GOOD question!!! They went to the trouble to do 97% plant-derived ingredients and then added fragrance. I don't quite understand. LOL!!

Sorry about your flare up but nice to see how this foundation covered as well as not sticking to your dry patch as I have one of those also. Did the shade oxidize like you thought or are you happy with the color? Thank you again.

Thank you so much for doing these reviews, whew so glad I waited for you. I kinda knew, based on my preferences, that I would not be going for the CT foundation but have been very interested in this Guerlain one. I may have to order it. It looks lovely on you and just like you, it checks off all the boxes for what I look for in a foundation. Btw, the Sisley website currently has the blur powder being sold with their kabuki brush as a set (for the same price as just the powder)...no self control at all so I bit the bullet and got it. But so is the La Prairie Skin Caviar foundation too, hahaha. Do you like one more than the other? I’d really love your advice on this one😊
@@jessstone1082 have you sampled either one of those? I do like the La Prairie- but can't wear it everyday due to the strong fragrance. I had a hard time getting the right match in the Sisleya- so although I think it is a beautiful foundation - I did not LOVE the shade on me. I need to try that one again. Both have skincare benefits and I would say the La Prairie is more - almost glowy- than the Siselya.... does that make sense??
Abby, thank you so much for taking the time to reply🤗. Yes, I did get a sample of both and must say that I LOVE them both. I notice a super oily t-zone after a few hours of wear with the La Prairie but is a much smoother, hassle-free application for me. I got 1B Ivory in the sisleya and it looks like a good match, have you tried that color? I still have a pretty good amount of both samples so I’ll try them both with the blur powder and see which one works better with it...? I’m a foundation junkie so I will probably end up with both one of these days🙄. Thank you again for your kindness and for being such a sweet enabler😊

Well here we go again. I had that foundation when it first came out, and actually put on once and did not care for it, can’t remember why.....now after watching you put it on I think I will give it another go. Sale ends tomorrow and I’ve been busy getting orders in😱. I didn’t like the CT foundation at all, very thick and hard to spread, however, my daughter tried it for two days and she has broken out, oddly just about the same spots you did? I didn’t think the Sisley foundation was reformulated? It’s cheaper😀. How is that AP essence? I tried it in the store a couple of weeks ago and it seemed runny......I like when there is a bit of a lotion going on.....Are you enjoying it?

Elaine- I remember you telling me about this foundation and thought you liked it. The new Sisley is different and has a radiant finish and new look. I will be doing a video for you on Friday!! I am enjoying the essence so far! It is definitely a runny essence and like that it is loaded with antioxidants. I think it is helping with my little outburst! UGH!! Jennifer- I wanted to LOVE the Roen but they are just not for me - and yes, I do think the Guerlain is a good foundation but my skin was BLAH looking and I don't think I did it justice testing it. I have a few more to test but had to give my skin a break to repair. Creme Masque Vernix to the rescue!!
Aw, that's to bad about those shadows....pretty but the creasing kind of stinks!

Lol! I'll "try and finish my thoughts"! Lol! The foundation is really pretty. You know, I also get those red bumps on my cheeks too!!!! I never knew what they were, they would last a few days and go away but they are definitely a pain in the butt, not sure if it's rosacea or not but I hate when I get them. I got a big one today right on my cheek and I'm praying it's not the Fenty foundation....I will be devastated! It is my favorite right now.

@@beverlysaylor7339 yep- I never knew what those bumps were either until a dermo told me it was rosacea and then I FREAKED out. Don't google rosacea because you think your skin will erupt ASAP!!! I am hoping it is not the Fenty either because honestly - that is such a good foundation - at a good price point too!! Keep me posted. And yes- the Roen shades are beautiful but definitely creasey!!
