Detective: "Did you understand all that?" Caption: "gentlemen" These captions are the worst I've ever seen. Written by one eyed, Chinese deaf people with cataracts. Or speech to text software from 1983.
That officer is so cool. He’s got great people skills, he’s showing how to do a very good interview, brilliant work. No pressure just let the demon unleash the badness.
What do you expect him to do? Yell at him? lol All cops act like that until you tell them the whole truth. Then they become the dicks they really are. Tell him you don't want to answer, and see how nice he is.
Very mixed feelings about his approach. Sure, easy-going. But his statements like 'you guys had all the cool stuff to make it happen' don't feel right at all. Not sure he had a clearly thought-out line of enquiry at all, not sure he has been trained for this, or US cops just don't have sufficient training.
Detective was very professional, and handled this interrogation extremely well. This must have been very difficult for the detective as I am sure he has a family . The kid is very sick ... remained calm telling the chilling events that took place that he had done to his entire family. I can't imagine my life without kids.
Great interrogator. Every time the kid said something intense about what happened the interviewer went back to a lighter topic so he wouldn’t start getting too anxious. Great tactics
His 12 year old brother is a hero. Because he called 911 his teenage sister survived the brutal knife attack by her brothers and testified against this brother. The older brother plead guilty. The 2 year old also survived because of that 9 year old. Their plan was to go back and make sure everyone was dead. The police intercepted and arrested the brothers.
This is the easiest, yet most gruesome, interrogation I've ever seen. Props for the cop for keeping his cool while that emotionless monster describes everything he did to his own family. He doesn't deserve parole, not now, not ever.
So far he is not asking him the questions I want to hear answers to though! I understand hes focused on a conviction and the legalities but I want to hear the psychological aspect to this crime, the whys, the what did he feel like; the how could he do what he did, destroy his own & so many lives, especially to the young children he presumably loved at one time? What does he think & feel about their actions now? I am not hearing him ask those kinds of questions yet but hopefully he does cover some of the whys later, I will persevere with listening though its tough. Those poor family members, the parents must have had no idea how troubled their sons were.
@@FIONA21ful exactly, once they had the info they should have stopped with the nice act and treat him as he deserves and push him for those answers. He needs to think about it and stew on it while being berated after they've squeazed the rest of the information from him

One of the most interesting parts of this video is when the detective pretends not to know about columbine or James Holmes. Having the kid answer the question provided some great insight as to how well researched these boys were about mass murder and also their motivations.
They were definitely interested in mass murder but all the kid answered was how many people were killed without any detail. If you ask me the only insight I got was that the kid was excited at the idea of how many he could kill in one go... Not necessarily the act of killing but the amount of killing he could dish out I think that was a main motivation for him....Other than that his mind seems completely blank not remorseful what so ever. It's as if the only time he feels stimulus is when he kills something but even then nothing is really getting threw to him. A completely empty person
It's the detectives job to be like that to see what information they can get out of the suspect. Of course he would know who James Holmes is and what he done, but i think he just acted like a blank canvas to get as much information as he could to build a picture about the suspect.
It's all manipulation. I love it and hate it. I love watching this stuff because I find it all fascinating. I hate that these specific cops can be so good/bad at their jobs that they can get innocent people to commit to crimes they didn't commit. And that to me is also interesting. They use the same techniques on an innocent person because by this point, it doesn't matter, they think they know that you did it. Often they are right. Often there is plenty of evidence to get thrm there and they just want the confession. But once in a while, they have a truly innocent person that they are sure is guilty, for whatever reason and sometimes these people confess because the Reid technique is extremely effective at what it is intended to do: extracting confessions. If you're guilty and you did what they are asking you to confess, you might alter the crime a bit to make you look better but you aren't going to confess to some other equally bad crime that you didn't truly commit. So for guilty people, it's fine (kind of. I personally think some of the methods are a bit unethical.) But for innocent people, that same thing that makes a guilty person snap and confess will also make an innocent person confess, except the innocent person will have less fear of actually going to prison because they know they didnt do it so they will be thinking "I want to go home. I'll say what makes them happy because im tired physically and mentally and since I didn't do it, this will get fixed later anyways." Not everyone who is falsely accused and/or convicted will falsely confess. Age and IQ and language/cultural differences are huge contributors. But the fact that it happens and then even if they recant the next day, that is often all that is needed to convict, makes me sad.
It's a basic interrogation tactic. All interrogators play dumb when it comes to any bits of information the suspect brings up themselves in order to gage their knowledge, interests, and frame of mind.
Aww the poor little brother opened the door to let him in thinking he was saving him from the older brother, only to be stabbed to death by the brother he was trying to save 😭😭😭
So what happened today? “Oh I had dinner, chilled in my room. Me and my older brother killed the family. We chilled in the rooms and grabbed a free ride to the police station”
The interrogating officer is the perfect person to ask questions and hear the horrific answers without prejudice. He also made very sure that the boy understood his rights completely. Takes a special person, as this officer certainly is.
Well he wasn’t doing that because he wanted the dude to receive a fair trial. He did it because if he didn’t do everything by the book there’s a chance it would affect his charges.
I was a cop in California for 22 years. The scariest part of this whole video is the kid is intelligent, educated and well spoken.this is the kid next door. Him and his brother are truly evil. There little brother and sister opening the door to save his life because they believed he was being hurt, was heartbreaking. His brother is even more crazy I think and think he really needs locked away from everyone else. Even in prison he's a danger and has attacked and tried to kill people. Lock them away and throw away the key.

As a mentally sane person, I surely guess it scratches the point of impossibility listening to this kid. In the same family, there were two individuals that found each other, casually murdering their own family, planning to kill at least 50 or even 500 more. If that is not disturbing enough, the 16 years old talks about this as I would do about cereals. No denying, no remorse, no sadness. The worst thing for him must be his missing phone and that they got caught that fast. I am not sure if mental doctors and clinical psychologists can or should really help here. They got both locked up for life and I am glad they were. Cannot imagine what they could have done with 3000 rounds of ammo and guns.
well Michael might not be locked up for life actually, he has the possibility of parole, which i sort of get why, because he doesn't seem like he's the type of person to go out of his way to kill his whole family without his brother Robert instigating everything, it really wasn't his idea, but on the other hand, he's a dangerous psychopath... i'm not sure parole was a good idea

This officer deserves huge recognition. He should be teaching a class on interrogating, especially for interrogating younger people such as this. Bravo. Edit: it’s also very interesting that the male officer appears to be covering up tattoos on his right arm with a flesh colored sleeve. Absolutely brilliant to appear more friendly and non-macho as possible.
Maybe it was more for his safety and being able to go undercover in the future
Why ? The kid admitted everything. That cop just talked to him about it, it wasn't an interrogation.
I thought officers are supposed to cover tattoos anyway, because they are supposed to remain professional.

Of course he would know who James Holmes is and what he done, but i think he just acted like a blank canvas to get as much information as he could to build a picture about the suspect.
yeah haha i laughed so hard...everyone in the fbi knows about mass murders
I'll say what makes them happy because im tired physically and mentally and since I didn't do it, this will get fixed later anyways."
Not everyone who is falsely accused and/or convicted will falsely confess.

On July 22-23, 2015, five members of the Bever family were murdered in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Two members of the family, a 2-year-old girl and 13-year-old girl survived, the latter of whom identified two of her brothers, Robert Bever, 18, and Michael Bever, 16, as the assailants. Wikipedia

Dana Whites a heck of an interviewer lol
I swear JCS just racked up the viewcount for all channels with videos like these
definitely!!! i started watching these type of videos after stumbling upon jcs
Yeah I wish JCS would do more videos
It makes me sick to see them having to treat him so nicely in order to keep him yakking. I’ll bet it made the interviewer sick, too.
mria621 I know! Hearing the details of this horrible story and acting like it was nothing must be very hard!!
If they do it often, they are probably desensitized to it.
As a forensic therapist I can say that I’m certainly not desensitized to it, but understand it as a necessary means to and end. Not only for the victim and loved ones, but having the ability to transfer what we’ve learned in future cases to help as many people as possible.
@Thomas Robinson I'm sure even the most hardened detectives are affected by this shit when they have to do it. I absolutely know that this guy is repulsed by the shit he is hearing right now. He's just trained to hide it.
Yakking? It's yapping...
Dana White has done all kinda stuff.
Mostly cocaine though...
For those wanting to know: the names of the sons are Robert and Michael Bever. I had to look it up myself because it was hard to hear this video.
Is it just me,or does anyone else want to see the interview with the older brother? ,,smh
Anyone have a link to the brother's interrogation?
i think his brother is the worst
There isn’t one
@Corpsi ure the lazy one, it literally takes Ctrl+C+V and you add it to the record for everyone’s benefit
@@lauracyborski2513 I did and there is only a 5 minute video? Did you see a longer one?
The way he casually speaks of killing his family is truly gut-reching.
eh
He cared more about how he lost his cell phone than about his family like when the interviewer shows empathy of “now you don’t have a cell phone anymore” he smiles and he’s like “no I don’t” like that’s a bigger nuisance than killing off the ones that pay for it 20:40
Ikr, crazy
@@danieljacksonjr.7053 gut wrenching? ✌
Psychopaths have that ability.
Wow. This is chilling to listen to. This kid is so casual while talking about how he took part in something so heinous - involving his own parents and siblings.
He either doesn’t realise the magnitude of the situation he’s in right now....or he does and just doesn’t care.
If he & his brother contemplated fame, TV, movies, books being written about them, the whole point was maximum magnitude. He's simply incapable of any emotional response... he can only hope to elicit/force emotional responses of others. Their horror allows him to feel the thrill of power.
I think he's TRAUMATIZED, it's one thing to plan a murder it's another to do one. He got sucked into the evil vortex and black hole! Smh!
I think he just dont care.
I wouldn't care either
Either way he's a mumbling stuttering prick
English native speakers trying to understand the audio:😩

I'd like to see the interview with his brother.
this is crazy, if I think about my sister getting hurt or feeling bad i pretty much cry immediately and I can’t imagine ever wanting to hurt her, he is so disconnected from it that it seems normal for him
I'm sure their parents were fucked. He doesn't even know if his little brother is 8 or 10. Sounds like they didn't give a shit about their children.
joe shmo
Kill the parents then, not the siblings. But can’t expect sense out of a psycho
He may want to kill his siblings so that they will not be alone without their parents, death is more comfortable for them
@@who8648 He's wrong, however what he said made logical sense to a degree.
The issue is that that would be a display of mercy, which sociopaths don't do.
Your reaction was obnoxious though lmao you're acting like he said something ridiculous.
Which really just demonstrates that you're unable to understand ways of thinking other than your own.
@@DingDongDaddyFromDumas yawn...what an exhaustive reply over my comment. it's unnecessary to say and not why they did killed them. Just some stupid little theory that commenter made up. Everybody's a psychiatrist on YT
The lady cop was audibly sickened by his actions when she asked him about tricking Christopher and Victoria into opening the bathroom door by pretending he was a victim. That is one of the most disgusting acts I've ever heard described. I applaud them both for their fortitude and strength in resisting the urge to throttle this little twerp.
I assumed it's because she wasn't a cop but rather a social worker but went back to check and he calls her a detective, which is weird because he's 16 at this time and so a social worker should be there due to his age but maybe things haven't caught up yet down in Oklahoma.
They would lose their jobs if they did that. Why is everyone saying this ? This is what he does. This man probably interrogated hundreds of murderers. This isn’t new to him.
Those guys are so well done training spychological and mentally and emotionally to follow up such a crimes. I only hope they leave all of it at work and don’t bring it at home to their own reality life. Amazing job only few can do. 🙏🏽
The detective wipes tears from eyes without the kid seeing him. Just heartbreaking to hear how casual he is talking about it.
At what time?
32.28?
No, he doesn't lmao. You are reaching like a mf'er
23:20 yeah that must've been so hard for him
detective? he a fbi
Can't believe this happened in my town, practically right down the road. Those poor babies and his parents, may they rest in peace
Tiffanie Little that’s crazy. I feel bad for them all, excluding the two brothers of course. Did any of them live? I think the kid said they forgot about the baby, 2 year old, poor thing gotta grow up to learn all this and never know its family. Whole thing is heartbreaking.
What town?
Jayne Stagg broken arrow oklahoma
consider your self lucky that this kid hadn’t thought of preying on his neighbourhood and just thought of gas stations he could of looked at your house and said let’s do that one it’s almost horrifying
Videos
1:25:46 is the highlight of the video. The two detectives obviously have to be restrained and calm to get him to corporate but for a fleeting moment when she turns from him you see her true feelings about everything he’s been saying.
I was literally coming to the comments to say the same thing. Her eyebrows raised when she was reading his statement, then her face when she turned around. I could not do their job. So crazy!
Yup, her non verbal and looks when he wasn’t looking at that time was like priceless, said everything. Good jobs to both agents and to the team. Seriously WTAF
@@Peachtreedishes WTAF indeed. Cannot even imagine. 😫
Police often are calculated when they do things like wipe a tear or make a face for the camera. They know a jury will see the video.
That was actually just her being aware that the camera was there and that the kid wouldn't be able to see her expression. She gave the expected feeling/ expression. If we saw "true" feelings, we would have witnessed this kid get stomped down. Silly humans.
Interrogator: "So where were you born?"
Kid: "mhhumssoouuhwebsiteshhuuumbaababaaaa..."
Not funny. Makes no sense. Nice try normie.

yo the kinds of wobbles that went through my body watching this makes me feel a high level of respect for these officers for handling it the way they did. like just watching it seemed like i was there. something about these vids hits different and makes shit sink in in a different way... very very simply put.
Calm down
What are you doing while watching this?
😂
Something has to be wrong with the brain in people like this. How you can do such actions towards your Mom and family is unbelievable. I will never understand it. It's inhuman.
What is his name? I don’t see it anywhere in the video
Something has to be wrong? No, something is wrong. Not sure if it was from his growing environment or he has some kind of mental condition. Nobody does this out of whim
Psychopaths are born not made and this kid is a Psychopath. There is a genetic component. He talks like he isn't there and just like he is the narrator in his own story is a dead give away. They are born with no emotions. They are more dangerous then a Cluster A personality.
They are also extremely intelligent and can articulate extremely well. You are dealing with one of the most evilest humans in our species. I believe they are brought here to this earth to teach us extremely important lessons about humans..... never to trust anyone except for yourself. Once you can trust yourself you will see this world in a totally different perspective. How do I know because I was married to one
Also known as The Broken Arrow Killings
You’re welcome.
Also, David Brom is pretty up there as being the most evil child murderer.
So sad how our kids are turning out.
Thank you!
Not ours thank you there’s no way mine could do this although I do think how kids are raised these days has a huge knock on effect on them, too adult before their time, kids are not really kids nowadays for very long.
Finally, thank you, I cannot believe that wasn't in the description 🤦. Also, my dad went to school with David Brom and remembers that day very well. Basically all of Rochester was locked down until they found him.
thank you. so stupid not to make any mention of who the fuck this is
