    1) why not be polite and knock on the homeowner's door to ask about the possibility of the drone being in their yard?
    2) he obviously has children or grandchildren and unknown people are looking over his fence into his yard. When he tells them to move on they refuse. So he has a reason to be upset/apprehensive
    3) he is correct to assume they may be " scoping" out the place possibly for a burgulary or worse due to their odd behavior
    Although, he gave warning to stay off his property which they were not on, he is in the wrong to discharge the weapon. I can understand his possible fear/ apprehension as to their odd behavior but he had no reason to fire the gun

      Why? He tried to scare them to get away from his property, hence why he fired at the ground. Which no, he shouldn't have done it as such but he accepted responsibility for what he did an was remorseful when he was told it hit the guys leg. Maybe fire once in the air as a warning but not at the ground in their direction. It's his property an he has the right to defend to it, you can shoot someone unless they are in your property an will not leave, they were outside an were hit. So it's illegal then, he did what 98% of people would do an defend their property. Dumbass shouldn't have fired at the ground like that though.

But since those guys didn't do that, the homeowner should have told the guys no you can't hop over my fence or I'm calling the police. Record them doing it any way and let them know that if they do anything like try to harm me or my family that I have a gun and I will use it. Call the police first though. Because what got this guy in trouble is the other men called the police, had evidence showing they were hurt and property was hurt on the other side of the fence and lastly,they had video evidence showing the homeowner being the aggressor.

    Having read some of the comments criticizing the shooter, I feel the need to come to his defense. The shooter sees some guys looking over his fence at his property. He prudently comes outside with his legal firearm. The lookers say they have lost their drone and want to come onto his property to search. Shooter has no proof or guarantee the lookers are truthful. He warns them to stay off his property. Now we have little evidence of what transpired or if shooter has run into a problem like this before. We do hear from the lookers that they taunt the man about shooting them or that shooter is a tough guy and begin telling shooter to go ahead and shoot them. The shooter is out numbered and does not know if the lookers are armed. So he lets go with a single warning shot. The lookers get all butt hurt that shooter actually fires one off. Then the cops figure shooter had no good reason to have fired. I totally disagree . He had every reason to fire. However, he should have first called 911 or at least fired directly into the ground. Having known victims of home invasions I would back shooters actions all day long.

    • @froginprogress8510
      @froginprogress8510 2 роки тому

      I know this is an older comment, but I kind of felt this way as well. They could just as easily have knocked on his door and told him what they were up to and asked if they could look, or if he could look and see for them. I would be more than a little upset if I caught someone looking around my yard like they had the right to be there. They're lucky he didn't have snall children playing there when they were trying to look. Not great that he fired without knowing what might sustain damage, but who knows if he's had similar problems.

    • @TrevJ91

      No such thing as a warning shot buddy. You watch too many 80’s cop movies. If you pull that trigger, it better be with intent to kill. And you better have good reason to do it. Guns are designed to kill things, not warn. If you’re able to fire a warning shot then that means you’re not really in any real danger otherwise you would just shoot to kill. Warning shot is an intimidation method. Not a valid excuse to discharge your happen. You see what happen to that warning shot? The round ended up in a car door. Where a kid could be sitting. You see why warning shots are bad? I rest my case.

    • @MrPtrgun
      @MrPtrgun 2 роки тому

      @@TrevJ91 have you ever been in a situation where you have decide to kill or or kill? Excluding military or police. I have and if the situation permits time for a warning shot you warn. Killing is about the last resort. It can tear you up emotionally for a very long time, justified or not. I will always warn first if there is time.
