That Wandavision makeup is so sad. I’m not a Marvel stan, but that show was done so well and grows so rich with color as the show progresses. I mean the name of the character is Scarlet Witch and Vision is bright red. It’s like wow Ulta, the bare minimum you could have done was just watch the trailer to figure out a better color theme. Wish they did this collab with a makeup company that knows what they’re doing. So much wasted potential!
Right????? I can already see it. A bright red called "Scarlet" or "Wiccan" or "Hex". A silver called "Vision" or "Synth". A black, white, or grey shade called "Van Dyke" or "50s". A hot pink called "Bewitched". A purple called "Agatha". A blue called "Fietro". A holographic/tranformative shade called "Spectrum" (or maybe that's the white; or the name of the whole palette). A classic, 50s red lipstick. Some sixties style false eyelashes. Everything in gorgeous, retro packaging. It was f--king GIVEN to them! On a silver platter!
I looked at the names of the palettes and they sound like generic magic words. Like you’d think they’d at least try to do something that’s more in line with the aesthetic of the tv show. The only thing that is remotely Wandavision like is the logo and the face of Scarlett Witch they slapped on.
The KVD rebranding is honestly just beating a dead horse like NARS with Org@sm, CT with Pillow Talk, and Becca with Champange Pop... But worse because everyone still thinks of Kat Von D when you read/say "KVD". I hope this is the last rebranding.
A couple things on Jaclyn: 1) her blush and bronzer palettes cater to light to med skin tones only also. She has completely ignored deeper tones. 2) she goes HEAVY HEAVY on her own makeup like 2016 trends. I’m not surprised she opted for matte liquid lipsticks for her own brand.
I normally don't think people need to change their makeup tastes year after year especially since it's motivated by capitalism but those liquid lipsticks look like they would be on the brink of expiration in the sale section of a TJ Maxx because they are that out of trend.
Potentially helpful tip to you: neutrogena spray sunscreens have a sheen that is very highlight-y. Try that first, because then you’ll be snatched and have full body sunscreen protection
I'm super pale and that neutrogena spf 100 has never failed me. I only get sunburned if I miss a spot and then you can really see how well it protected my skin where i actually put it!
Before the pandemic I couldn't go outside my house without makeup on, but since wearing the masks I've been able to gain the confidence in myself to go outside with no makeup on, over the course of a year. Also I've been saving money by not having to buy foundation, and lipsticks.
For me my self esteem has gone down since wearing a mask. I've become reliant on them and dont want to stop wearing them in public. A mask helps me hide what makeup cant hide which is my jaw line. I like how my face looks with a mask and when I take it off It makes me consider fillers/surgery to fix it 😓
i kind of think that moschino perfume is going to end up smelling like one of those “perfumes” we received as children that literally either smelled of bubblegum or fruit or fruity bubblegum, it might only have better lasting power
I was born in 1991, I don’t know how you are but we had little perfumes with rounded colored caps, blue pink purple, one was a baby powder smell, the other I don’t know what is and maybe one was cotton candy or something
With the Hindash gradient palette, there will definitely be a learning curve, but I think he’s definitely created a unique product. Which as you mentioned, is pretty hard to do in such a saturated makeup industry. I also appreciate how many tones you can get out of single block. I’ve been pretty excited about actual MUA releases like that of makeup by Mario recently. They’re excited to teach how to use more “pro artist” makeup the same way Kevin Aucoin once did. ❤️
I'm curious to see reviews of this palette. I think it's gorgeous, but it might be gimmicky. A lot of the swatches would probably look so similar on the eyes... I don't know. Couldn't it be possible to achieve the same mix with two separate pan or the fact that the colours already mix makes it easier? So many questions hahaha

I agree. And apparently they’re putting out bomb makeup (I haven’t tried it yet) but I’m actually intrigued in their new foundation and not much has caught my eye lately.
Because that is the place we have come to. It don’t matter who you are, what you have done, some people are still going to complain. You can do EXACTLY what they want, and they will say you didn’t do it HOW they wanted it done. We see this daily, people are going to complain no matter what, no one is just happy anymore, and that’s sad.
@@shellymarie97 I understand why they didn't get rid of KVD initial. The KVD initial isn't for us, it's for casual makeup wearers who aren't aware of all the drama. Changing the brand name completely would mean that they have to entirely rebuilt their brand awareness from the ground up, which I understand they don't want to do. For us who care about who owns the brand, they did what we wanted. Not a single cent now goes to Kat von D, so the name that they have is inconsequential. Everyone is free to do anything they want, it's just my 2 cents.
I completely agree. A majority of people have no clue about what goes on in the beauty world. They buy things that look interesting to them and continue to purchase it if it works for them. My mom and aunts have been wearing KVD since it first launched when I was in middle school. Point being, the product is actually really good and we shouldn’t punish the brand now for Kats wrong doing. A lot of my family and friends even would be confused if they completely changed the name. From a business perspective it would be a huge loss to throw away the components and change their name.
But for real, disney should have given Besame Cosmetics the Wandavision collab. They're a smaller brand, Latina and women-owned and they would have BODIED the vintage theme, since their whole theme is vintage
I like the braid, it’s cute. The headband is cute too. I’ve been paaassing on pretty much all makeup lately also. Usually I want everything & have trouble choosing but now I’m just kinda meh about new products. Probably not such a bad thing though lol. I did purchase two of the Moira ombré blushes though. I didn’t own Heiress for example but I worked at a perfume store and fantasy by britney and heiress by Paris Hilton were pretty popular. They’re both extremely sweet but i thought they were pleasant. However, there was an escada perfume that was semi popular that smelled like coke syrup literally. I hated when i had to give samples of that cause i hated the smell and it lingered in the store. I still like sweet scents but I do prefer a mature approach like D&G the only one.
As a recent owner of the elf x chipotle collection (yes, including the bag of chips makeup bag). I so love the color story and the eyeshadow (at least the swatches I’ve done so far) are so pretty and buttery! Especially fajitas! Also thank you for the DC transition palette rec, it’s fabulous!!
I low-key like the Chipotle palette. It's mostly muted colors, but still offers a bit of variety. I think you could create some nice looks with it. But I already have some green shades and never use them, so huh.
I thought the idea was stupid but then I saw Alexandra Anelle's video on the Chipotle collab and my heart fluttered. It looks so beautiful on the eyes, I definitely think it's a collab done right. Also that avocado sponge is lowkey genius.

Ive used sally Hansen airbrush legs to hide a farmers tan on my arms for a party a few years ago and it didn’t transfer to my dress. It dried down pretty transfer proof.
agree on the recommend. i absolutely HATE self tanners and bronzers etc, but if I feel I absolutely must, SH airbrush legs is a decent product. Looks good, applies pretty easy, cheap and easy to find at CVS Walgreens etc.
I am! I hate the feeling of completely dry liquid lipstick, but since I am wearing a mask and at work I'm not into wasting time reapplying my lipstick I'm using up more my liquid lipsticks. I actually PANNED one already and it never happened to me like ever 0.o

I want to know why Kendo doesn't just ax the brand and recycle the formulas into their other brands and just move on. Or ax the brand and introduce 'Inked Beauty' or something and act like KVD never existed. I think I saw someone suggest Inked Beauty on Twitter. I'm not gonna act like I'm original. Yeah, the packaging would be wasted to an extent but just do a liquidation sale and be done. I fully agree on the food themes for makeup. If it's not desert themed it just feels weird. Maybe because cakes and things can be bright and colorful and unicorn-y. Burgers and pizza are hard to associate with makeup, for me at least.
Babe, moschino is one of the brands that you just pay more for the name. Demeter fragrance has a bubblegum perfume for much cheaper. Not to mention the other cool/weird scents they have (faves are nutmeg ice cream and espresso). In my experience it lasts a fairly long time too
I haven’t bought much makeup in the last few months because I really had to come to realize that I’m not wearing makeup as much as I did before COVID. I’ve been passing way more recently, so I definitely see why we all kinda agree that most stuff isn’t as exciting when we really don’t need it!

RE: YOUR HONEYMOON. OH MY GOD. THE TRAIN FROM VENICE TO VIENNA IS STUUUNNNNIIINGGGGGG!! I did Venice, Vienna and Prague is one round trip and honestly that train was like being inside a picture perfect postcard. One minute, you're going across vast plains and can see the hills on the horizon, next minute there are trees and cliffs and rivers, and then all of a sudden you go through a tunnel and come out the other side into snowy mountain ranges. I traveled first class with my very own Smokey Joe (lol) and we sat drinking champagne and eating strawberries the whole time. ALSO OMGGGGG PRAGUE! You and Charles NEED to do the medieval escape room in Prague. It is actually held underground in a 16th century prison and it is soooo frickin thematic. We're talking flaming torches and poisonous potions. IT. IS. AMAZING. And really affordable too! xx

We also booked a themed dinner night in an underground restaurant where they had snake charmers, fire-breathers, belly dancers, sword fighters, and all the bar staff and waiters were dressed up as buxom wenches and in corsets etc! It was a proper old style banquet. And the sword fighting etc took place in between the different courses of meals. It was so fricking memorable. I'll never forget it! I really hope Hannah sees this message as she would honestly have such an amazing time with Charles. I feel like he would be down for some banqueting like a king lol 🏰 ⚔🍖🍲

I feel the complete opposite with the lipsticks and glosses because wearing a gloss or cream lipstick with a mask is so messy and it gets all over the mask so I've been only wearing matte lipsticks and liquid lipsticks that dont transfer

I bought the chipotle palette and the avocado sponge set. The palette is actually really nice. The green shimmer and gold shimmer are stunning. It is the same quality as their bite size palettes, which I enjoy. People are selling the palette on Mercari for like $80 or some crap. I saw the whole collection (palette, sponges, gloss, bag) going for like $200, it's freaking nuts.

I fear the KVD brand identity crisis has not yet peaked. 🥴
Before the pandemic I couldn't go outside my house without makeup on, but since wearing the masks I've been able to gain the confidence in myself to go outside with no makeup on, over the course of a year. Also I've been saving money by not having to buy foundation, and lipsticks.
For me my self esteem has gone down since wearing a mask. I've become reliant on them and dont want to stop wearing them in public. A mask helps me hide what makeup cant hide which is my jaw line. I like how my face looks with a mask and when I take it off It makes me consider fillers/surgery to fix it 😓

i kind of think that moschino perfume is going to end up smelling like one of those “perfumes” we received as children that literally either smelled of bubblegum or fruit or fruity bubblegum, it might only have better lasting power
i actually love those types of smells so much, but they never last 😭😭 so i’d love a product like that loool
I was born in 1991, I don’t know how you are but we had little perfumes with rounded colored caps, blue pink purple, one was a baby powder smell, the other I don’t know what is and maybe one was cotton candy or something
With the Hindash gradient palette, there will definitely be a learning curve, but I think he’s definitely created a unique product. Which as you mentioned, is pretty hard to do in such a saturated makeup industry. I also appreciate how many tones you can get out of single block. I’ve been pretty excited about actual MUA releases like that of makeup by Mario recently. They’re excited to teach how to use more “pro artist” makeup the same way Kevin Aucoin once did. ❤️
I'm curious to see reviews of this palette. I think it's gorgeous, but it might be gimmicky. A lot of the swatches would probably look so similar on the eyes... I don't know. Couldn't it be possible to achieve the same mix with two separate pan or the fact that the colours already mix makes it easier? So many questions hahaha
I honestly love it. Everyone's talking about wanting smaller palettes - this is GENIUS. You basically have a thirty pan in a ten pan.

Why couldn’t they just be KVD beauty. The end. No reason. Doesn’t stand for anything in particular. They just believe in their product, don’t want to spend the money to repackage or rebrand, so they are KVD beauty. Done and done. It just seems so simple to me 🤷♀️
I wish people would cut KVD some slack they literally did what we wanted them to do, which is get rid of Kat Von D, and now they basically can’t do anything without getting mocked. What kind of message are we sending to brands when they actually follow through with what we’re asking of them?
I mean.... One could argue that by keeping KVD, they didn't actually get rid of her entirely which is what people wanted. But on a different note, the jokes are relatively harmless and I'm sure the multimillion dollar company isn't really that bothered.
I agree. And apparently they’re putting out bomb makeup (I haven’t tried it yet) but I’m actually intrigued in their new foundation and not much has caught my eye lately.
Because that is the place we have come to. It don’t matter who you are, what you have done, some people are still going to complain. You can do EXACTLY what they want, and they will say you didn’t do it HOW they wanted it done. We see this daily, people are going to complain no matter what, no one is just happy anymore, and that’s sad.
@@shellymarie97 I understand why they didn't get rid of KVD initial. The KVD initial isn't for us, it's for casual makeup wearers who aren't aware of all the drama. Changing the brand name completely would mean that they have to entirely rebuilt their brand awareness from the ground up, which I understand they don't want to do. For us who care about who owns the brand, they did what we wanted. Not a single cent now goes to Kat von D, so the name that they have is inconsequential. Everyone is free to do anything they want, it's just my 2 cents.
I completely agree. A majority of people have no clue about what goes on in the beauty world. They buy things that look interesting to them and continue to purchase it if it works for them. My mom and aunts have been wearing KVD since it first launched when I was in middle school. Point being, the product is actually really good and we shouldn’t punish the brand now for Kats wrong doing. A lot of my family and friends even would be confused if they completely changed the name. From a business perspective it would be a huge loss to throw away the components and change their name.
But for real, disney should have given Besame Cosmetics the Wandavision collab. They're a smaller brand, Latina and women-owned and they would have BODIED the vintage theme, since their whole theme is vintage

@@Msleonoraful to each their own I guess. I used to like sweeter perfumes when I was younger. I didn’t own Heiress for example but I worked at a perfume store and fantasy by britney and heiress by Paris Hilton were pretty popular. They’re both extremely sweet but i thought they were pleasant. However, there was an escada perfume that was semi popular that smelled like coke syrup literally. I hated when i had to give samples of that cause i hated the smell and it lingered in the store.
I still like sweet scents but I do prefer a mature approach like D&G the only one.

I low-key like the Chipotle palette. It's mostly muted colors, but still offers a bit of variety. I think you could create some nice looks with it. But I already have some green shades and never use them, so huh.
I thought the idea was stupid but then I saw Alexandra Anelle's video on the Chipotle collab and my heart fluttered. It looks so beautiful on the eyes, I definitely think it's a collab done right. Also that avocado sponge is lowkey genius.

Ive used sally Hansen airbrush legs to hide a farmers tan on my arms for a party a few years ago and it didn’t transfer to my dress. It dried down pretty transfer proof.
agree on the recommend. i absolutely HATE self tanners and bronzers etc, but if I feel I absolutely must, SH airbrush legs is a decent product. Looks good, applies pretty easy, cheap and easy to find at CVS Walgreens etc.

I am! I hate the feeling of completely dry liquid lipstick, but since I am wearing a mask and at work I'm not into wasting time reapplying my lipstick I'm using up more my liquid lipsticks. I actually PANNED one already and it never happened to me like ever 0.o
I did, until I retried my kiko unlimited lipstick. Not as dry as liquid lipsticks, yet no transfer for me.

I want to know why Kendo doesn't just ax the brand and recycle the formulas into their other brands and just move on. Or ax the brand and introduce 'Inked Beauty' or something and act like KVD never existed. I think I saw someone suggest Inked Beauty on Twitter. I'm not gonna act like I'm original. Yeah, the packaging would be wasted to an extent but just do a liquidation sale and be done.
I fully agree on the food themes for makeup. If it's not desert themed it just feels weird. Maybe because cakes and things can be bright and colorful and unicorn-y. Burgers and pizza are hard to associate with makeup, for me at least.

Babe, moschino is one of the brands that you just pay more for the name. Demeter fragrance has a bubblegum perfume for much cheaper. Not to mention the other cool/weird scents they have (faves are nutmeg ice cream and espresso). In my experience it lasts a fairly long time too

OH MY GOD. THE TRAIN FROM VENICE TO VIENNA IS STUUUNNNNIIINGGGGGG!! I did Venice, Vienna and Prague is one round trip and honestly that train was like being inside a picture perfect postcard. One minute, you're going across vast plains and can see the hills on the horizon, next minute there are trees and cliffs and rivers, and then all of a sudden you go through a tunnel and come out the other side into snowy mountain ranges. I traveled first class with my very own Smokey Joe (lol) and we sat drinking champagne and eating strawberries the whole time.
ALSO OMGGGGG PRAGUE! You and Charles NEED to do the medieval escape room in Prague. It is actually held underground in a 16th century prison and it is soooo frickin thematic. We're talking flaming torches and poisonous potions. IT. IS. AMAZING. And really affordable too! xx

We also booked a themed dinner night in an underground restaurant where they had snake charmers, fire-breathers, belly dancers, sword fighters, and all the bar staff and waiters were dressed up as buxom wenches and in corsets etc! It was a proper old style banquet. And the sword fighting etc took place in between the different courses of meals. It was so fricking memorable. I'll never forget it! I really hope Hannah sees this message as she would honestly have such an amazing time with Charles. I feel like he would be down for some banqueting like a king lol 🏰 ⚔🍖🍲

The Sally Hansen airbrush legs is amazing! It’s the best body foundation I’ve ever used. I’ve worn it for pageants and weddings and it doesn’t transfer. Plus it has a great shade range at an affordable price.

if you want a bubblegum perfume, get yourself some lush snow fairy perfume (or body spray)! it's way cheaper than that moschino perfume lol and is SUPER long lasting
I feel the complete opposite with the lipsticks and glosses because wearing a gloss or cream lipstick with a mask is so messy and it gets all over the mask so I've been only wearing matte lipsticks and liquid lipsticks that dont transfer

I bought the chipotle palette and the avocado sponge set. The palette is actually really nice. The green shimmer and gold shimmer are stunning. It is the same quality as their bite size palettes, which I enjoy. People are selling the palette on Mercari for like $80 or some crap. I saw the whole collection (palette, sponges, gloss, bag) going for like $200, it's freaking nuts.
