    I would just like to say to all the viewers and subscribers that Animal welfare on Pemberton farm is priority. Tom you always think about your cows comfort and it is a pleasure to watch every video. Ask the Hoof GP what does he think about it # Tom Pemberton and the Hoop GP are the two best on UA-cam.

    You and the Ginger Warrior sure are lucky!!! Graeme Parker had a video describing this system!! It showed that time after time, the cows consistently chose to walk on the turf. What would we choose if we had to take the same bumpy, stoney, uneven path in bare feet? Happy cows--->Happy life!! 🐮🐂🐄🐃

    From Canada. Not only innovative but recycling. Our city is using astroturf on the islands separating road lanes, and it holds up to the hard freezes, snow and salt, deluges, and extreme temperature ranges we get. We used it successfully for covering mud around our pool. Hope it works as well for the cows.

    A suggestion for rolling out artificial turf for the cows: If you know someone who can fabricate steel, have them make a bar the width of the rolled up turf with two holes either end for Cotter pins, and then have them find a length of Iron tube/ pipe like a drain pipe a bit shorter than the Iron draw bar. Then have them wield end caps onto it and drill holes in each cap to allow your round iron bar to slide thru, now what you have is a roller similar to a paint roller that can roll out your turf. Draw bar slides thru the roller bar, then thru the turf roll then attaches to tractor's 3 point link and now you can "Roll out the barrel", so to speak. May be hard envisioning this contraption but if or had I been a neighbor I could build it for you. I worked in steel and iron for a while.

    Caring for your animals Tom. Only the best of farmers would put that much effort into there stock. Love the 434 i think thats what it is. Looks exactly like the tractor i 1st drove 50 + years ago. About the same condition doing the same job. Some things stick around i guess. Great videos Tom. Love old Ginger and enjoy seeing Hyde getting stuck in. She not shy of work either.

    Greatest addition to the farm yet, in my opinion! First, it was free!! 2nd, it has to help with some of the mud problems, 3rd is that for free you really can't not try it! ,fourth, if it helps to cows then you just got a double win! Great job to you three! And it's Heidi and I, lol. 🐮 Happy Cows = Happy Farmer 🐮🥛🐄🥛🐂🥛🐃🥛🐮

    Put a drum through the Astro turf rolls then connect a tractor to the ends of the barrel with chains. Drive slowly away and it might unroll easily for you!! Once it starts to unroll place a different tractor on the other end to hold it in place.

  • @stachb2070
    @stachb2070 3 роки тому

    Hey Tom Great video!
    Why didn't you roll out the grass like the driver said?
    I mean by pole inside the roll and chains from it to tractor.
    A pole may be with holes in it on each end(to put chain through it) and there will be no work with rolling and unrolling

    I can't watch the video till later, but hopefully he'll see this........We laid the stuff that we got upside down. The cows were spooked by the grass side and it was a pain to clean. But there was a section that was upside down and they were all over it so we flipped it and used the rubberized backing and they loved it. It's also a lot easier to clean with a driveway brush attachelment on our skid steer.
