Thank you for sharing your recipe. My late mother used to make this which we eat with buttered bread. I have a question what we can use to replace hae bee, as in recent years I find my skin gets very itchy after eating hae bee. I wonder if dried salted fish or pork/chicken floss can replace it?
Hi Jin Jin. You can substitute dried prawns with either dried anchovies, dried squid or dried scallops (though more expensive). Dried anchovies has the closest brininess profile as dried salted prawns. Just blend the anchovies into a paste. Add 2 tsp of sugar to your paste. Then cook as in the video. Hope this helps!❤
