Thank you so much for this video! I was having trouble getting my osd to work on a new Freestyle vtx. Turned out I had to change to another UART. Works great now! And this new Beta flight version is much easier to use.

Ian you mentioned on your stream a few days ago that there should be a tvs diode installed when using HDzero, but rather than on the battery lead, it should be at the VTX. stupid question? would it be wired up with the positive on the positive lead going to the vtx and the negative returning respectively, or 'in-line' on the positive side? I'm no electrical engineer but at least I'll ask the idiot questions before finding out the hard way :)
i have the crux35 hdzero and mobula7 hdzero. currently both are flying fine but I have nothing in my vtx tabs on both of them should there be?
I confirm that on my Mamba F722 HDZERO OSD does not work if connected to the ‘default’ analog vtx uart but works fine on another free uart. Mine has a plug for use with DJI and works fine on that uart
my osd dont work with the new happymodel mobula6 hdzero some times there is a little box that will flicker but the osd is perty much not working i just want to see my battery voltage

Thanks for posting this video. I tried everything you mention if the straight forward configuration do not work. It still did not work for me. the fight controller is the SkyStar F722 mini HD Pro. I'm using the HDzero unlockfreestyle. If any body have any clue why let me know. I am also running betaflight 4.3.0 on the flight controller.
I purchased a brand new Happymodel Crux35 from HDZero with the 1 watt VTX. I get an osd, but get a black screen in the goggle display with the osd showing so I do not think the vtx is the issue. What are the odds that it is a bad camera out of the box. This quad came prebuilt from HDZero and I am having a very hard time getting them to send me a new camera. They want me to send some video of what the goggle screen looks like but because there is no video, I can not get the thing to record. I have two other quads with HDZero and both get excellent video. Should I try to update the vtx on the quad first or thee camera, or just swap the camera and see?
i still cant get this to work on my Mobula 6HD(hdzero).
some h7 fc's need to be on 4.3 cuz 4.4 isnt stable; baro and others. the preset has a new box for hd osd, but when i "pick" it, it causes an error
I have problem on my 1W vtx that when I do it like this my video and OSD works but I can't control my vtx with my radio. I just can't get into vtx menu by stick inputs. FC is Diatone Mamba Basic F722 MK3. I have Crossfire soldered on TX1 and RX1, 1W vtx is wired on TX3 and VTX/RX3 and MSP blue wire from vtx is soldered on TX2 but I dont want to use SA, it is just soldered but disabled in Betaflight. When I do the preset I click on unlocked freestyle(and yes, my vtx is unlocked),map to displayport and use displayport and MSP on UART3. After save and reboot like this I have video and OSD working but I just can't get my vtx menu working. Also to mention on my vtx blue light is just on, not blinking. Any thoughts?
I have the same issue with the Whoop Lite - OSD is all good, but nothing in the VTx tab in BF. Did you get yours working?
Yes, it was UART3 fault. When I used other one it worked. If I remember correctly....@@modquad18
Does this actually work for the whoop board? If I recall correctly, there's no smart audio.
Yes still adds all the osd ect setup.
Yeah, you've always been able to do it with the Whoop board. It uses a UART without actually being wired up...
Yehs it’ll still setup your canvas mode just don’t worry about the VTX table stuff as it doesn’t matter
