The cadence in the voice is scarily realistic. Certain things sound ‘off’ but the rest sounds like a perfectly normal conversation between to people.

I think I spoke to Beryl on the CB a few years ago. I didn't know she was that clever.😂

    It's amazing! 😀
But I'm going to be Mr Negative, 160m net style today for a change...
Could this signal the end of Ham radio as we know it unless safeguards are put in place?
Risk turning everything into a vocal version of FT8?
Contests & special event stations run entirely on AI? Rare dxpeditions run just using a box, a laptop, radio & antenna no need for any operators?
Maybe I'm old-fashioned in my thinking on this. I like to interact with other humans just not necessarily see them hence why I like ham radio,
I don't mind FT8 as long as I know there's another human on the other end, why I'm against the auto CQ feature.
Who knows, maybe everyone wants to chat to AI bots via the ionosphere, it would certainly spice up the YL contest weekends HA HA..😂
BTW, I'm not a hater of AI, properly managed the advantages will/are huge! Just posting to maybe prompt a discussion.

Stu,you got far too much time on ya hands🤣🤣actually enjoyed it though.so question........if your only using your efhw for the 40m band and NOTHING else, what's the ideal length of coax you should use?? Be interesting

20M according to the logic, but your internal tuner makes it pointless. CBs don't have tuners so I guess it's a trick they use. (I have no idea mate and don't pretend to)

Nice to have a knowledgeable assistant, but with respect to synthesizing human discussion, what on Earth is the point? It's a pathetic surrogate. The delay in 'her' response alone is a deal-breaker. Humans communicate using overlapping ideas and interruptions; the genuine thing is almost always a cumbersome dance.
But the idea that she's perfectly agreeable, all-knowing yet ultra-modest, ever-submissive, and (apparently) eternally interested in only YOU makes it repulsively synthetic. AI will soon have surpassed us in every conceivable intellectual domain; once conscious, it will even be more important than we are. But the one thing that it simply can't replace is the human companion. No matter how much shinier a perfectly ideal relationship may seem, we've evolved to seek human contact over countless generations, and no super-stimulant can ever replace it. At least, not for as long as we still _know_ the nature of the replacement.
Give it a fitting robot voice and a (solid) red-eyed avatar-don't lose sight of the shore.
