Probably one of the best chess series I've found on UA-cam
No doubt
Levy make a chess tips about how to convert advantages to a win
I am with !!!
Come on levy
I can show you how to turn a win into an (dis)advantage hahaha
Totally!
this makes no sense. if you can recognize you have an advantage then leverage that to get checkmate. every advantage will have its own benefits but if you can recognize that something gives you an advantage then you have concurrently recognized how to use it to get a win.
It's so wild going back to old videos and seeing the proper and educational Levy before he truly became Gotham
yh
Dude I don't know if you're reading this but I literally went from 650 to 900 just watching your videos over a week. Dude you are literally the best teacher ever
What's your rating now??
@@abdullahthabet8105bros prob at like 10000 by now
@@abdullahthabet8105 -200 💀
@@abdullahthabet8105If we do some math and try to predict then he is currently 2200 rated player. Who is probably a NM or FM .
3:33 "d5 is like a door. It opens up the d4 square for the N and the B"
This video was so good. I like how you explain an idea using many recent games.
This position was already there in the first episode of chess tips lol
Love this video and this series, you helped me beat my dad at chess for the first time a few days ago
No matter how many of these videos I watch my dad still beats me. He’s terrible at chess though.
@@kailbastow6963 At least you have a dad to play with. My dad despises chess and hates when I play it. He wants me to play rough sports even though I already do tennis as a sport.
@@archaicnymph2977 That's kinda weird, my parents are the opposite. But still, do what makes you happy okay? I mean, it's just a game. :>
@@archaicnymph2977 that sucks man. hope u dont let it get to you and keep doing what you wanna do!
Gotham: Every Pieces getting the turn, Improving the position/ Beautiful attack / Full attacking piece in to the game.
Me trying to play: Literally found a beautiful blunder that cost my queen.
Rediscovered chess during lockdown in April. I had so little understanding, that I thought the best opening was a full width pawn storm! Levy has lifted me from the stone age and shown me the truth. Great teacher!
Full of focussed energy and good tips delivered in a fun style - well done ! Very watchable !
Hands down best chess series on the Tube. Answers literally every question I've ever had
This is a great series,Levy. Very insightful and helpful.
amazing video Gotham.. congrats on hitting 50k subscribers 🥳
Thanks Levy! Very useful tip videos, learned a lot from them 👍
Thank you so much from Mexico!! Nice approach for does starting!
watching these chess tips and learning these fundamental principles has made my draughts game better. Thank you for these educational tutorials.
Your videos are really very very instructive! Thanks!

chess tips: when to sac🤞😈
You can actually get tips from his "Rule of +2" video of when to make a sacrifice
Love how u literally spoon feed us the information!
Appreciate the content and the effort keep it up.
You literally don't know what "literally" means
Very instructive videos. Great job!
Keep it up, man! I really like your content.
first chess channel i subscribed ...luv u levy!!
absolutely in love with these videos :)
Man you are too good. I have like become your biggest fan Levy. You are so different from other chess masters who don't wanna share their thoughts on the game. Please continue doing this great work. And yeah i hope your new place brings you a good life ahead .
Thanks bro, amazing and very instructive video
This is the best! Please continue teaching us.
Je suis francais et j'adore tes videos qui sont très pedagogiques. N'hésite nullement de faire quelques videos comme ceci. Merci!
Hey Levy I clicked the ad for you, cheers!
This channel made a lot of difference .thanks tuter 🥰
Great videos !!! Thanks Levy ....Your channel is a power packed chess crash course ...
Thank you! Keep making instructional vids!
make longer videos! you teach so well i could spend hours learning these games you show.
Sir you teaching in these concepts are amazing
Thanks Levy great video!!
Absolutely amazing content. Chess right now is very popular in my school and I want to get better to impress a few people and try to be a top player in the chess club I recently just joined. Please keep making chess tip videos you are helping so many people and making amazing content.
Seriously Levy, this is impressive stuff now. Instruction and puzzle solving gaps for the everyman (and woman) chess player in ten minute bites that we can keep up with. Outstanding work.
the thing that really helped me in this channel is the gotham guide series
Hey Levy thanks for the video. Can you make a chess tips video about the concept of space in chess? I hear about “gaining space” all the time on chess videos but i’m confused on what it is and how to play with it.
great video, really helpful
Amazing analysis on the magnus vs nepo game with that rook move
Really good videos, keep it up
Thank you very much for the video
Would be cool to see a video on how to isolated pawns and how to avoid getting them. I always end up with a worse pawn structure than my opponent and if I don't beat them in the middlegame I always end up with a losing endgame
Thank you Levy. This video helped my chess a lot.
Nice video! Make a video on when to Fianchetto! Or where to put the knights in their first move
Nice initiative, best of luck
Lmao the way he says oh my after a move makes it seem like he gonna walk away from the screen processing that move😂😂
thank you!
4:43 I'm a 700 elo and was thinking " hey Qc1 looks very great to go and enter the ennemy kingdom but i don't think this is in Levy's mind ..." I feel like a happy genius now
That Ivanchuck game tho... Awesome!
Hi from Korea! I started chess streaming too and always been watching you stream. It's my First time coming to your youtube, and all of the videos are great! May the force be wth u.
Levy can you cover "formulating a plan" out of the opening / beginning of middle game?
ua-cam.com/video/u8MKyE9Qt8I/v-deo.html is this maybe what you wanted.
Very interesting games to cover, nice format.
Can you make a video on playing down a piece or in a bad position???
More of this chess tips please 😊
Would love a video about tempo :)
3:19 you play Ne5. Pawn takes, pawn takes, discovered attack & winning back the pieces. That's initiative too
Discovery tactics video please 🤘
excellent !
Finally a channel with advanced concepts but digestable for newbies.
You are a really good teacher
Please, continue these videos!
Superb!
It would be nice to see how you get the initiative from the opening
great video levy
Pls do a video on kings gambit. Different possible variations
Great Video!
Ivanchuk with those nice bishop moves
Its not checkers the last time either lol. Really enjoying these videos. This one and the pawn moves were very helpful.
Congrats on getting 400k subscribers!
Thank you IM Levy on making this detailed video on initiative.
Nice video, like always
Thanks Levy, your chess knowledge made me go from a: "never plays and only does puzzles to a 1500 in puzzles" then I thought i was the shit and played online and sucked and would lose 1 and then win won and then lose 3 and then win 2 and lose elo, win half lose half pretty much. But then I realized its my openings shortcomings and after watching a bunch of your videos, I truly learned a few very well and am slowly but surely climbing. So thanks.
4:50 I said Qd2 not seeing the bishop. Haha that's why Im stuck at 1100. I saw the idea to bring the queen in and let the knight sac, but place queen on square that can be taken xD
How about the concept of chess tempo and endgame tips? Thanks
You are doing absolutely great we learn too much in just a short time
That resounding no crushed my spirits
Space advantage utilization chess tips
Nice video!
This has gotta be the best hairstyle I've seen on Levy
Shit, the tone of voice by Levy makes that vid so fucking satisfying
U r only 1 who gives free this type of video thank you sir ❤️
Not true. Many other masters post similar content. Check out John Bartholomew, for example.
please made video on how to counter feeble threats and how to recognize them how to control this illusion
Can you please make a video on sacrifices/exchanges? They always confuse me.
Great Insights and diversified Content that is Followed up & and built upon.Grand stuff! just the best. I do wish You slowed the cadence just a small bit, My thanks to Eric R, for bringing your excellent beneficial work to my attention. Subed for life, I'll be here often greatly enjoying! Thank you so much, Blessings from Oregon! ... Mike.
Can you please make a video on exchange sac
wow i actually found queen c1 i feel so good about myself lmao
Can I watch the Chess Tips videos in any order, or is it preferable to start from the first?
Sk whats better tactical or positional play?
Need tips on middle games
My biggest issue is that I'm too trigger happy. In that last example at 13:06, I would've blitzed out Nxe6 and tried to create an attack from nothing. I'm pretty good at tactics puzzles because I just go all out attack and that usually works in the puzzle. But it often fails in a real game. Do you have any advice for me Levy?
What's the difference between a tactic and initiative?
Also how do you know when to shift between your own plans and full on defence/counter play considerations?
Tactics are the names of moves... forks, pins, etc.
Initiative is the resulting position if its positive for you. Like gaining a tempo in the opening, generally it makes your opponent have to work harder.
I don't really understand your second question. To me, every move is some degree of both offense and defense.
Imagine uploading a video at 7am... mans really grinding
At 10:53, after black pawn moved, can't you just play queen to h6 and that's mate? Instead of moving bishop
Hi Levy, maybe common amateur mistakes in chess and how to avoid them would be good
this is the best idea to atack the oponent enemy aways be present of mind thinking
The move at 4:30 :
What about a3? lol
Let Black go ahead and take the Knight (and the Initiative for now), moving that Pawn off the g file, then after Knight recaptures, Black doesn't have anything great that I can see. Then Qc3?
Also a3 prevents Black's Bishop from potentially moving to the b4 square later on. This is probably not as good of a sequence, but it seems fun.
King and pawn endgames please @Gothamchess
