IMO the best ending is leaving the city and having Vito run it. If Cassandra runs it the city becomes a ghost town after she kills a bunch of people, and the government shuts off funding. The run together ending could be canon. Given its sort of a happy ending even if crime spreads all over the South. But for me it was never about Lincoln running the city. It was about revenge. The Vito ending, Vito finally gets a to the top, and turns NB into a great place. Sure Lincoln is 'on the run' but given everything that happened to him in his life there was no way he could have a normal life. It's either rule together, die, or leave with Vito in charge.
And besides, Lincoln still end up working as a criminal, it was likely at the docks he used the contacts to New Bordeaux to keep working and in touch back home.
But here’s where I disagree yess his overall goal was revenge but also he wanted to take over the city from marcano that was the whole thing after the death of the black mob he had a big choice would he rather leave or he run the city himself I think that’s a better ending because Lincoln although got his revenge it was about more then that it became a question of morality that’s why I love the rule together ending it makes more sense but the leaving the city and have Vito rule isn’t bad either.
I feel that leaving town is the true ending. Storywise, I can't see Lincoln becoming a major mobster. And the part where Vito took everything over - I love it! I hope we will get Mafia 4 soon and work for Vito in Vegas in the 70's.
That makes sense thought Lincoln can be a major mobster plus the goal wasn’t just about revenge he wanted to take over the city from Sal and make sure that another Sal marcano won’t take over it rather be him then Sal.
@@TheVikingActual I don’t want any mention of Vito (except maybe a hint of his death or something) because idk i just think they should leave his story arch at the point where he either works for/with Lincoln or is the boss of New Bordeaux Scaletta crime family.
Figured being a mob boss would pose too much temptation and danger at every corner. From the beginning Lincoln never wanted the life. He wanted his revenge.
I believe if (and when) Mafia IV comes out, Lincoln leaving town and Vito taking over will be canon. Donovan should be the protagonist in the 1970's where after years on the run, he lands in a South American city and works for the local outfits in exchange for leads on the remainder of his JFK conspirator list. Along the way (or in a DLC), Lincoln will show up and help him with some missions.
Mafia 4 should have Joe as the protagonist in the 70s maybe have him be a mob boss after Galantes death im sure he'd be dead by then. Hopefully get some closure on Joe being Lincoln's father
That does sound like a good idea for a game but it would be just another mistake that this game made. And that mistake would be that you ain't in the Mafia and has very little to do with the Mafia
A lot of people are saying it's a Las Vegas style city in the 70s. So I'm guessing will parallel real history and we'll see a black book allegory and the fall of the mob
Mafia IV isn’t even in heavy production they moved on to create other games. At best we’re looking at like a 2022 release and that’s idle there’s no more bumps in the road.
I think the ruling together is cannon because Lincoln towards the end didn’t care to leave especially because he would rather take over the city then another Sal marcano taking over but I’m fine with the him leaving as well and having Vito take over.
Mafia 3 might’ve not had the best gameplay structure and was buggy but holy hell the main missions with the set pieces and the story was excellent, the acting, the performances, the mo-cap, that realistic tone and so much more.

WOAH WOAH hold on a minute! I think you are forgetting a couple years don’t you think? I mean you literally just missed out the whole of mafia 2 and that his game!
Donovan FTW!!! He's a fucking legend!! There's 3 main endings.... 1) ruling together 2) ruling alone (kinda) 3) leaving but leaving has three sub-endings... depending on how much district income you assigned to them.... the one with the most income is the one who takes over. a) vito ruling b) cassandra ruling
I know people think father James is annoying but personally he’s one of my favorite characters not only because he’s a voice of reason for Lincoln but he shows compassion and brings out a more human side of Lincoln
They should have had a bonus ending where McGuire is describing how he still thinks he hears Lincoln creaking through his house to have Lincoln burst through the door
These days I always see that. Mafia 3 and Mafia 1 Remake. Those 3 lines subtitles aren't that great. I'm used to Either 2 or 1. Luckily they didn't do that in Mafia 1 OG and 2.
If you kill vito and decide to leave the city cassandra takes over everything and eventually new bordeaux becomes a ghost town after hurrican cassandra hits and she disapears with tales of her still ruling whats left of the swamp lands
In my leave city ending, Cassandra becomes kingpin. Govt cock blocks her and it ruins the city. Nobody knows if she is still alive. I finished with all capos with even amount of districts. Maybe she earned the most? I didn’t get scaletta ending
Vito was my favorite Mafia protagonist, but the best ending, or the coolest is the one where Lincoln dies. In turn killing Vito. But still, I love Vito, it just so happens the best ending has him killed
I think that the truly good ending in this game is the 'Rule Togheter' ending that is the only one that Lincoln doesn't get fucked up. If he runs away, this FBI idiot will keep chasing him, until he gets arrest and eventually dies in jail.If he rule alone, he die, because of the priest. But if he rule along with his underbosses, he gains power, does some good here and there, everyone respect him (even though he is a black guy in the middle of the 70's) and, most important of it: him and Vito are both still alive (Vito is the best character from all Mafia series). The priest is being a little hypocritical, because in the beginning of the game, we can clearly see that he and Sammy are good friends and he knows that Sammy is a "bad guy".. So, why he can't accept the fact that Lincoln is like Sammy? When Sammy needed his help, he didn't thinked twice, even though if it was to kill the Haitians, he did it easily and with no regrets. And through all the game, we can watch how he enjoys killing the people, how he plans it, and how he feel well about seeing their life vanishing from their bodies. To me, it seemed that Lincoln's misson evolved very fast from an personal revenge to a war to gain power and rule it, having his revenge as secondary mission. And in the end, when talking to the Priest and Donovan, the first thing that he thought was ruling the city. To me, Lincoln is still alive and ruling everything..
There are 2 more leave the city endings for the other Lts. Burke goes to mexico and gets a liver transplant and turns the city into anarchy, and I don't know Cassandra's ending.
Cassandra runs the entire city unopposed but the government turns on her bleeding the city of money and then a hurricane destroys the entire city and she disappears , again. It's cool that Vito got the only good ending.
I had to kill Vito during the storyline because he was mad at me for not giving him districts. What would happened if I had decided to leave the town? Vito is dead he can't rule the city
Cas had only two of mine and they all lived, Vito had 4 , Burke 3. Nt ending was him leaving and Vito running it. Which I'm ok with I loved Vito since mafia 2 lol
I don't know why but I fucking hated Cas she was such an annoying bitch when she didn't get a district, if I knew she could die by not giving her a district, things would've been heaps different
Marko B.Wayne it's easy I just literally beat the game 10 mins ago and we ruled together you just have to split the districts evenly and when one complains about leaving you just give them territory the next meeting
Honestly, if they ever make Mafia 4 and it has a new protagonist I can expect to see we'll find a bunch of easter eggs that Lincoln did past by in the new city we're in where he might be at next.
I feel kinda robbed. I started the game on 2017 and quickly lost interest. I just picked it back up a couple of months ago in 2023. I couldn't remember the story I'd seen up to that point so I just kinda rushed through. I picked to run the city. But I wish I'd left it to Vito now. But also, I didn't know vitus history in the game since I started the series with 3. I'm going back to play 2 now that it's finished. Also, is it just me or does the game totally fall flat on its face after you take over? Like, there's literally nothing to do besides some weed stuff and racing. Or did I miss something?
Before choosing an ending I searched on internet and they said that in the third ending when you leave the city there will be a carbomb waiting for you by the priest and same for the "Rule alone" ending so I choose the "Rule to gather" ending otherwise there was no reason that I don't choose "leave city" ending. Damn internet.
I feel like I should say their is one more ending that I accidentally found if you choose rule alone and dont take your car you will live, and the game will give a little bit of a different ending on what happens to Lincoln after the game.
This game was great sure it had its flaws but this game was very good really hope they make a mafia 4 for next gen really underrated game the story and soundtrack was top notch.
I went with the 'Leave the City' ending. To me, Lincoln never wanted to rule NB (hell, he didn't even want to run the Hollow). What he wanted was to take everything from Sal as revenge for what he did to Sammy and Ellis, and that's exactly what he did. After that, there was nothing left to keep him from going, trying to find somewhere he could belong that wasn't just two steps from the grave. Plus, I like to imagine that after Donovan's ending, he goes outside and Lincoln's waiting for him in a car, the two ready to hunt down the other conspirators.
Took me 2 years to finally beat this game & I wish I would’ve just ruled together made it big time instead of getting out the city now I gotta play it again soon.
woah there, honey yeah still i want to get the maximum out of the game just started over 3 days after and I got 800 k with help from the grow house just stock piling money if I want to race threw the game I could also do it in 2 days

3) leaving but leaving has three sub-endings... depending on how much district income you assigned to them.... the one with the most income is the one who takes over.
a) vito ruling
b) cassandra ruling
“I dOnt KnOW At HoMe I BeLiEve” lol 😂
Honestly, this game is one of the most effective ways to keep people (kids in particular) out of the mafialike business and crime.
Burke:[death grunt]
I know people think father James is annoying but personally he’s one of my favorite characters not only because he’s a voice of reason for Lincoln but he shows compassion and brings out a more human side of Lincoln
Not voice of reason for Lincoln He just tries to stop Lincoln from fuckin killing the marcanos “voice of reason” goes to Donovan
Donovan deserves a spin-off game, where you kill the people who were corrupt.
Letting Vito run NB is the players giving Vito the happy ending he's deserved since the time Joe wasn't part of the deal.
Every time I see that part with Donavan I see the subtitle and though he says Jack Kennedy the subtitle says President Kennedy
They should have had a bonus ending where McGuire is describing how he still thinks he hears Lincoln creaking through his house to have Lincoln burst through the door
What Happens If You Rule Alone?
Death
0:42
which leads to 1:05
What happens if you rule alone? You dont
Must’ve been very quick to stick the bomb under the car after he killed them
"I don't remember at home I believe" LMAOOOOO
Vito was one of the realest I made sure he was straight
its hard seeing lincoln as the true antagonist in the end, so thats why i let vito take over
We can't just gloss over the fact Father James admitted to murder on camera
father talks just so slow by the time I read the subtitles i’m ready for next sentence and he’s only 36.6% through, lmao ohD annoying
These days I always see that. Mafia 3 and Mafia 1 Remake. Those 3 lines subtitles aren't that great. I'm used to Either 2 or 1. Luckily they didn't do that in Mafia 1 OG and 2.
Watching how Lincoln died makes me not wanna finish this game wtf man
Thanks for all the views so far. If someone knows what happens if you kill Vito, and leave the City. Please tell us in the comments.
If you kill vito and decide to leave the city cassandra takes over everything and eventually new bordeaux becomes a ghost town after hurrican cassandra hits and she disapears with tales of her still ruling whats left of the swamp lands
BE Thanks :)
Thank you for the link :)
Cassandra took over for me even though Vito was still alive. I thought Vito was supposed to be the default.
Nukleon I think the person who rules in the end is the one who owns the most districts.
If you leave town, can you go back to finish other missions? Like the DLCs? Thank you
I got the third ending. I think it's the best one to be honest. I always love a bitter-sweet ending; the Mafia games are great at capturing that.
In my leave city ending, Cassandra becomes kingpin. Govt cock blocks her and it ruins the city. Nobody knows if she is still alive. I finished with all capos with even amount of districts. Maybe she earned the most? I didn’t get scaletta ending
I ruled the city with vito ... just vito 💔
vito is goat and deserves it
@@vlazarus124 hell yeah
Yup
Me too
Did you marry him too? Lol
This is also my point of view
7:49 anybody know what’s the name of the music score that plays in the cutscene
Find it in the Playlists of mafia 3 expanded soundtrack
@@sanbyar5059 couldn’t find it in the score sadly 😔
@@therandompotato3360 there should be is
what if vito is dead and you leave the city?
There are 2 more leave the city endings for the other Lts. Burke goes to mexico and gets a liver transplant and turns the city into anarchy, and I don't know Cassandra's ending.
Cassandra runs the entire city unopposed but the government turns on her bleeding the city of money and then a hurricane destroys the entire city and she disappears , again. It's cool that Vito got the only good ending.
I had to kill Vito during the storyline because he was mad at me for not giving him districts. What would happened if I had decided to leave the town? Vito is dead he can't rule the city
how the fuck you kept all 3 alive that's amazing, i only kept Vito and Cassandra how it's that possible
It's easy as hell, just make it so by the end they all have 3 districts each. Simple as that
Cas had only two of mine and they all lived, Vito had 4 , Burke 3. Nt ending was him leaving and Vito running it. Which I'm ok with I loved Vito since mafia 2 lol
I don't know why but I fucking hated Cas she was such an annoying bitch when she didn't get a district, if I knew she could die by not giving her a district, things would've been heaps different
Vito and Burke was the best, even though Cassandra got a district more than Burke from me.
Marko B.Wayne it's easy I just literally beat the game 10 mins ago and we ruled together you just have to split the districts evenly and when one complains about leaving you just give them territory the next meeting
When Lincoln kills Vito he should say " Mr. Galante sends his regard"
I'm kinda pissed i never got to see a "Mr. Scalleta sends his regards" but damn seeing Joe was wow.
I'm the only one who chose to get ending 2...that was the best option...how i ended up taking all over americas...
Lincoln Clay is jason voorhees. In that first ending they were setting it up like an urban legend horror story
He killed all the mafia but he dies in a car explosion. nice
KARMA bites HARD!!! LOL
Honestly, if they ever make Mafia 4 and it has a new protagonist I can expect to see we'll find a bunch of easter eggs that Lincoln did past by in the new city we're in where he might be at next.
Now I'm mad because I left the city but I got Burke running the city
Father James arent happy in all the ending lmao
I almost left the city, but... At the last moment I decided toI get back and rule it with those badasses!
Never played this game, but the acting in these cutscenes is fantastic!
This game was a MASTERPIECE
John Donovan is one charming son of a bitch.
What happenes with ending 1 if u dont get into a car????
nothing
You have to do escape the town [ENDING 3] If you want to
if u want todowhat
You won’t die until you get into a car.
Thanks for posting the all the ending ~
The first ending is so Savage
I feel like I should say their is one more ending that I accidentally found if you choose rule alone and dont take your car you will live, and the game will give a little bit of a different ending on what happens to Lincoln after the game.
This game was great sure it had its flaws but this game was very good really hope they make a mafia 4 for next gen really underrated game the story and soundtrack was top notch.
Facts loved this game
what happeneds if you don’t go in Lincolns personal vehicle in the first ending
How would father James know what Lincoln did? Was he hiding outside in the bushes?
gunshots my guy
I want a game as Donavan that scene was next level!
I'm in love with donovan
bitch same
Samee
Same
I went with the 'Leave the City' ending.
0:42 Lincoln: “It ain’t personal” Proceeds to kill them.
In the end i got greedy and decided to rule on my own...even after playing Mafia 2. Damn Father.
Took me 2 years to finally beat this game & I wish I would’ve just ruled together made it big time instead of getting out the city now I gotta play it again soon.
Minus the drugs liquor & prostitution ring.
Took me 2 weeks g
@@sadisticbubble2 wait really
they call me black boy genesis, because I beat any games like these in 2 days huh not 2 days but 2 weeks
woah there, honey yeah still i want to get the maximum out of the game just started over 3 days after and I got 800 k with help from the grow house just stock piling money if I want to race threw the game I could also do it in 2 days
@@sadisticbubble2 yeah same, I'm very experienced with games like cod and black oos snd gta and those types of games and I beat those games in under 1 week. but any cod or blacks ops I play I best them in 2 or 1 day
Thanks for the video
So that ending where Donovan kills the senator makes me think mafia 4 will have you play as Donovan and kill the people responsible for the JFK assassination
And that would be cool
In my opinion the best ending is having all the 3 generals giving them equal parts of the city and rule with them
Donovan honestly should just be a main character or a side character for the rest of the series he’s to good for this game...
There are 2 additional endings where if you kill vito and leave one of the other generals takes over and raises hell on earth
Leaving the city is the best ending (in my opinion)
Does anybody know what the background music is that starts at 10:39 and ends at roughly 12:15? I think it sounds really badass and I really want to add it to my spotify list.
@a troll Thank you, by now I've found it already, but thanks still! I'm glad I didn't hear Darude sandstorm haha
Vito will always be the greatest!
I'm thinking ending 1 is the true ending as there's a difference in audio, especially with father james. In ending one, the audio sounded a little scratchy, almost like it was an actual recording from that time era. The other two endings had crisp, clean audio from father james
