  • We are preparing for winter. I have documented this annual preparation of firewood since it has been six years since I made this saw. During this time, I used the saw a lot and upgraded it many times, new bearings, shaft, belts,... which made it much more efficient.
On my channel, there is a video of making a saw and a video showing the making of another table useful for wood-working.
If you are wondering about the quality and appearance of firewood, they were created as a by-product of cleaning and thinning the forest on our plot. If I bought them, they would be nice quarter or half-split meter logs.

Do you have the design specs for this table?

Yeah, in my head. :) No no, I always worked by heart, which of course later contributed to quite a few corrections. The only dimension I envisioned in advance was the distance between the saw blade and the edge of the table on the shorter side, 25 cm, as this is the ideal length of firewood.

What does the sliding table run on? Does it sit on some steel rollers and they track along a rail?

The table runs on four ball bearings inside the guides, and is pulled in the reverse direction by a weight on the rope.
