Pouring the last concrete slab + wall
This video covers the last few months of work. During this time, we excavated the material at the entrance to the apartment and poured the slab in the same place. The process was complicated by the hole for the coal that goes into the boiler room, as I had to concrete it in advance. The concrete slab is of course waterproofed from below. We also poured a wall in the kitchen, which was open from the start of construction. It didn't go exactly as planned here, as the form was not supported strongly enough and it tilted slightly during the pouring. It will be possible to hide the defect by grinding and plastering.

I bought a milling machine!
Переглядів 50511 місяців тому
We had this milling machine in our machine shop where I work. Since it was not in use, and there was no operator for it, it was put in storage. Not long ago I discovered that the machine was still in storage and I made an offer to the boss to buy it. He accepted it and the machine was mine. This video shows the installation of the machine in the new workshop. Unfortunately, I can't test the mac...
IT'S FINALLY TAKING SHAPE!!

This video is not so much a film as the others, but rather a collage of shorter videos and especially pictures, all showing the progress on the apartment that happened in the last two months of the year. The reason for the lack of video material is mainly that I wasn't around much when the masons were plastering the apartment. Another reason was that my second GoPro died for no particular reaso...
Expanding the window pt.2
Переглядів 2,3 тис.Рік тому
After the window sill and column were finished, the transverse support beam was next. I didn't know exactly how I would go about it, so I just started demolishing it and would see how it would go. Casting a classic concrete beam was not really an option, as I did not have enough thickness available to have the necessary load-bearing capacity. I called an expert for advice, who advised me to emb...
Expanding the window pt.1
Переглядів 2,7 тис.Рік тому
This small window is the only source of natural light in this room, so I wanted to expand it. I already knew that some kind of column would have to be poured on the side I was demolishing. On the other side, I just removed the old plaster. When the "pillar" was finished, I poured the window sill. This is made in such a way that it has a step in the place where the window frame will be. So the p...
Concreting of the pillar in the doorway
Переглядів 2,3 тис.Рік тому
This doorway between the kitchen and the dining room was quite narrow and needed to be widened. I had previously widened the passage with an electric hammer, but this is also where the problem appeared. In the middle, the wall was very loose and stones and clay started to roll out of it. The only solution was to pour a concrete column in that place, and that's what we did. The column is well re...
Finishing the workshop, leveling the walls and floor and painting.
Переглядів 964Рік тому
I was almost in a bit of a hurry with this part of the renovation, because I bought something big and expensive for the workshop and had to get it over here. The walls were leveled with a plaster leveling compound, that filled the gaps and holes, but the walls are not level. In order to achieve the planes, I should have plastered the walls with lime-cement mortar, but due to lack of time and th...

Pasmaters are a HC-punk band from Pula Croatia. The band was formed in 1984, which was followed by a break until the second half of the 90s, when they started playing again. We can also say that after all these years of playing, they clearly haven't gotten tired yet, even though they complain about getting old! ;) - Intro - Hardcore - Foe Template - Crkva - ? - ? - Linea Diritta - Kad Ode Sve -...
Construction of a wall between the garage and the house pt.2
Переглядів 853Рік тому
This video shows the construction progress and completion of the wall between the garage and the apartment. Again I placed five rows of blocks and filled it with concrete. For the last row, I drove the reinforcing bars into the ceiling and welded them to the ones that go into the new wall, this way connecting the two together, then I cut the blocks into smaller pieces so that I could assemble t...
Construction of a wall between the garage and the house pt.1
Переглядів 901Рік тому
The video shows the first part of the construction of the wall between the garage and the apartment. In the bathroom, I had to pour the foundation before building the wall. In this place, I have already installed the water pipes and the drain for the sink in the wall. The wall itself is made of hollow concrete blocks that are dry-stacked together, after which they are filled with concrete. This...
Building one wall and tearing down two others
Переглядів 808Рік тому
In order to demolish the old "concrete" wall, I first had to build a new one next to it, otherwise too much of the ceiling would remain unsupported. The demolishing went as expected, cookie cutter hardness all the way through the wall except for the last little bit which was extremely strong for some reason. I also cut a passage through the brick wall. There will be a corridor connecting the fr...
Josip Broz Tito's bunker (Konjic, Bosnia)
Переглядів 331Рік тому
Tito's bunker, or properly ARK, Atomska Ratna Komanda (Atomic War Command), was built between 1953 and 1979 and was then the second largest investment of the former Yugoslavia (today it would be at least 20 billion euros), as well as the greatest secrecy, together with the president, only four knew for it's existence. The bunker was opened to the public in 2011, and at that time people only rea...
Road trip through the former Yugoslavia ( part of it )

This is my first vlog I've ever recorded, so don't get excited expecting some high quality. We went on this road trip for the May Day holidays this year, and since we had been talking about visiting Željava airport for a long time, we decided to go through Bosnia. Since we left Idrija in the afternoon, we arrived in Plitvice only late in the evening, had dinner and went to our apartment to slee...
Concrete doorway pt-3
Переглядів 2,4 тис.Рік тому
This last step of building this passage almost turned into a disaster! It was necessary to make a transverse supporting concrete beam above the door, and immediately the problem was how to pour the concrete, since the beam is right under the ceiling. My mother suggested that I drill a hole from the top floor down to the door and pour concrete through it. At first I was a little skeptical, but a...

Now that both pillars in the door were finished, I was able to pour a third into the wall. I decided on this method mainly because of the ease of execution, as well as because of the better strengthening of the old and rather loose wall. From the armature in the door post, I drilled some steel rods lengthwise through the wall and welded them together with vertical rod on the other side. I also ...

Hi. Where did you buy the complete set of gasket and bearings?
I just typed the name of the saw and the model into Google and it offered me various online stores with spare parts. But I didn't buy everything from the same company.

Woohoo! Gaj is back! :)
Good to see you posting again man, was worried that you'd given up on the project. Had a friend start cutting wires in his trailer home, and he THOUGHT the power was off to the dining room, but it wasn't and when he started cutting power lines, he ended up destroying his wire cutters. (2 large gouges were melted from each side.). That floor was insane sand under wooden planks. Just begging for bad things to happen. Glad to see you get it fixed. Good work though, I think the wall and floor turned out good.

bravo
Just for your knowledge I learned years ago fold a dollar bill 4 times and pass through the points before trying to start the damn thing. Worked for me from old loggers
Is this why you painted the floor green?
Also, but mainly because I like that look.

That is not real beer! :)
So what. I can toast with my favorite drink of choice.😁🍻
No more voids. Some one is learning... :)
Good job 👍
King of the concrete pillar 👍
Excellent video as always. I still don't understand how UA-cam hasn't promoted your content more. It's a pretty impressive project and you've done a great job at it! 💪 P.s. is that Metallica playing in the background around the 4min mark? 😁
Mandatory musical accompaniment. I hope UA-cam doesn't report me for music rights. 🤫🤐
Grass floor in the workshop? Seriously?!?!? But it looks good. 😎😎
The workshop turned out pretty awesome man. Really impressive ending to this part of the rebuild.
This rocks!! Love from Ireland 🇮🇪
👍👍👍
good work man, things are coming along better and better. Look forward to seeing the next episode.

Imagine if that section of wall had the same concrete and all of the rebar you have put into your stuff.
Great progress! What is the black thing that you pour at 6 minutes?
Tar & rubber membrane?
Ibitol, or a kind of tar. This is smeared on the surfaces, on which the bitumen tape is then hot glued. I did this under all the walls so that moisture can't capillary rise up them.
I am proud of you. Never give up!✝
I am really enjoying your renovation! If you ever feel like it, it would be cool to get like a "walk through" video of the basement, maybe with a drawing for layout so we can get a feeling for the overall project. Good luck with the work!
What are the name of those red bricks that has a dozen or so holes in it?
Hollow bricks. I don't know a more specific name for them. Just type "hollow bricks" into Google and you will find it.

Kje si kupil dele kot bat pa tesnila?
Večinoma na internetni trgovini Demetra, bata nisem menjal, je še original. Batne obročke sem pa posebaj naročil, sem samo napisal mere na google pa jih je našlo.

Yes!
That's true, I heard the war down there before. As old as Am I in this german ground... VPO.. TY!

Гильза цилиндра чугун? Металл?
I'm not 100% sure I understood the question correctly. The cylinder is one piece of metal, and yes it is cast iron.
Have to ask, are you still alive and making videos? Or did the summer heat boil you all? Joking aside looking forward to the next videos.
I'm alive and well, thank you very much for your concern! 😉 At the moment, I have a lot of work to do between work and apartment renovation, and I don't even have enough time to edit videos. And to top it all off, I have problems with my computer for editing. The new video is almost finished and will be published soon, but it will not be about the renovation, it will be a vlog about our road trip through the part of the former Yugoslavia, which we went to at the beginning of this May.
Glad to hear that your alive and kicking. As for the computer issues, I can completely understand, my main computer had a stick of RAM go bad, and my storage HD die. (Really bad storms, and bad wiring issues). Hopefully you can get your computer repaired and working correctly. As for the next video that sounds pretty awesome. Over the years I've made a lot of friends from some of the countries around Europe (Some when I was in the military and working in the middle east, and others while browsing youtube. LOL). Right now one of my favorite youtubers is from Estonia (ants pants), and he will occasionally drop tour / exploring videos of his area. Best of luck, and I look forward to your next video, stay safe, and keep bringing in the good content. *Cheers*

And where does the drain pipe in trench leads water to? Should be connected to municipal drainage system....

Your mother is an excellent engineer, without a pressure pumping system, pouring the mortar through a hole from the top floor is your best bet. For the rest you've done a good job, you're good and you deal with problems intelligently, always finding the right solutions. The floor on the upper floor looks like a " Genoese floor" from the 1930s. Are there still floors like this in your area?
Thanks for the comment! The tile upstairs is actually a 1970s style, of which there was enough spare in the basement that I could repair the floor in front of the door. And yes, there are still many such tiled floors in our areas, especially in old houses.
Really nice work👍may I ask: why you are doing such an effort for an still working celar doorway? Greetz and Thx for sharing mik
Hello there! This door is not for the basement, but for the kitchen, and the reason for all these efforts is that the old brick arch was very cracked, and I also moved the position of the door slightly to one side, so the arch no longer had a function.
why heat the rebar before bending? because it was thick and too hard to bend unheated?
Yes.
@@gajterpin2312 thanks for replying, btw, you are doing great work, i enjoy watching your videos
👍👍👍
Why so difficult? Put in a steal beam, insulate, finish it off with plaster in the end.
I've never heard of anyone using a steel beam in this way, nor do I know how to do it effectively. Then there are building regulations...
