IMO trying to use the educated presser trying to walk down Bud in the high guard is going to be like trying to catch SMOKE for Spence. Do to Buds back step game with Angles it’s going to be a nightmare. Bud absolutely destroys high guards also. The 🔑 is to adopt the Porter style and jump in to force Bud to high guard because even when Spence do get to the inside Bud defaults to the Philly shell unlike all his other opponents. Bud upper cut on the inside gone be there and Spence is not clincher and he don’t get his head off the line and goes back to the same slot
You’re right about Bud but wrong about Spence. The high guard is the way Spence has fought his whole career and he’ll need to utilize that with calculated pressure to BREAK Crawford.
@@ar_equalizer Bud has shown us in the Diaz fight and Avanesyan fight that he has mastered the high guard. He punches threw and around it. @@bankslaw8900 styles make fights. Each guy has their niche and strategy that works for them. Bud is the better “boxer”; Spence is the Marvin Hagler calculated pressure guy. Those 2-3 combos work for him

The Queensberry rules of judging in boxing is effective aggression, ring generalship, defense, punches landed, and damage inflicted. I credit Shawn Porter for his aggression and backing up Errol Spence. That fight was nip and tuck
Spence wanted to fight Porter at his own game, crawford dnt punch a lot like Porter so if Spence wanna take that route he could 🤷🏾♂️ and if bud didn’t knock down Porter I had Porter winning 💯
Fight was definitely close between Bud and Porter. Everybody know the stoppage was super weak on Kenny Porter. However, Spence shouldn’t try to fight Crawford at his own game; that would cost him rounds if the fight was to go the distance
Personally I don’t think EJ should fight bud the way he fought ugas and Peterson. I think the reason he was so aggressive in those fights is because he didn’t respect their power very much. I have EJ winning but I think he needs to put on his best performance to beat bud. He needs to be aggressive but not get over excited and pick his shots more which he had trouble with against ugas. I believe Derrick James knows this tho and will make it happen, that’s why right after he stopped ugas he told EJ “we need to get back in the lab”
He was picking his shots against Peterson. That was his best performance. I don’t think he had to taste Petersons power to see if he could just bull rush in. I think he was just defensively responsible that fight to begin with. He also needs to not lunge forward like he did against Ugas. That will get him caught against bud. I have him winning he just needs to clean things up a little from the Ugas fight which I believe he will. He has to.
@@lennarthomasI agree he was more defensively responsible against Peterson but he did eat some big shots even if he was walking through them. It’s annoying how often people say “ugas just stood there” as if Spence had nothing to do with it. If you watch that fight you’ll notice ugas became more stationary as the fight went on. The reason Spence opponents “stand in front of him” is a combination of EJs body work slowing them down, his counter punching making them hesitant to throw, and his pressure making them overly defensive because it’s the only way they can rest. Of course fighters at this level understand they can’t afford to stand in front of him. This is what Derrick James is talking about when he says “EJ is gonna make you fight him where he wants.” All that said, Crawford is much more mobile of a fighter than ugas with better footwork, so EJ will have to work to break him down more than he had to with ugas. But give the man credit and give his opponents some credit too! They’re not idiots, it’s EJ’s skill and fight style that turns them into heavy bags over the course of the fight.
Crawford aint Ugas or Peterson. They dont have the counter punching skills or lateral movement, not to mention the ring IQ T Bud has, over them two punching bags Errol broke down. I can go on and on, with the tools that Crawford posesses. 🥊
See, every strategy has Errol eating away at the body and stopping Crawford 8th round plus. That requires Bud to stand there like a punching bag. Crawford will move around to drag Errol’s conditioning and ring rust into the fight.
