This guy has a very sloppy driving style, also I have a 2006 2 litre model and it's every bit as good as my last car a BMW 320i...just tons more reliable.
The 2.0 petrol (and diesel) model is way nicer. It has hydraulic steering with more feel than the electric steering assist in the 1.8. Not to mention the huge increase in midrange torque for zippy overtaking on the motorway.
They are nice the 2.0 but there are reports of carbon build up issues caused by direct injection and then some of the 2.0 D4 (not the diesel) can suffer from blown head gaskets due to a manufacturing fault. This is the same dreadful and very expensive repair as the 2.4 litre petrol version.
I've owned two of these cars and they're vastly underrated, but the thing about this review that makes me really want to scream is that apparently it has 'chairs FFS!

You changed your tune when you reviewed the newer model which is supposed to be a much better car.
