This had such a different vibe than any other zombies cutscene. Honestly the slow mo of them getting arrested with that old music was suspenseful as hell.
In general like a older happy song over calamity makes for such a good scene like the most recent one I saw was in squid game at the end of red light green light with the girl singing sinatra
I really like how it’s a little more grounded and somber ending, super cool
"Old music" is Vera Lynn, she sang this to British soldiers throughout the world during WW2 keeping the morale up. She's a legend. She died in 2020 aged 103
I wouldn’t call it suspenseful. I’d call it somber. We know that we’re likely never seeing any of these characters again. Sam is lost to the Dark Aether. It’s the closing chapter of a book. It’s not a cliffhanger… until Richtofen. It’s just the end. The end of those characters. The end of this game.

what a perfect way to blend the themes of cold war, intelligence, government espionage, with the zombies lore. i haven't been following the storyline as faithfully as I used to but I definitely want to now that activision is actually giving it a budget again
Facts, I mean the story so far has been very bland / uninteresting. Trust me u missed nothing. This gets me so hype for the next blops. Imagine the next crew is weaver carver grey and Strauss, that would be dope
@@Wendys___ speaking of Grey, Strauss, Carver and Weaver, I honestly and genuinely believe they were initially going to be the main crew you played as in Cold War Zombies (I mean, considering their variety of voice lines and how much personality they have compared to the Operators) until Activision most likely forced Treyarch devs to make last minute changes
@@jackietang3789 what happened was treyarch had to step in for sledgehammer games because sledgehammer basically imploded during the pandemic. So what happened was the zombies were rushed because normally treyarch would have have 3 years to make a game but in this instance they had 5 months
@@jackietang3789 but in vanguard I heard that treyarch has full control over the zombies and that sledgehammer games is only in charge of multiplayer and campaign

@@faithfulcrow7 Theyre in a different universe from the one we played in bo1-4. That universe was destroyed when they sent the aether to the dark aether. Sam and Eddy was transported to this one, so the timeline is way different

I hope we get to see more of Weaver, Carver, Gray and Strauss in the future. Especially Strauss. That he was the one most resistant to the arrest speaks volumes to his character and his backstory at the Endstation facility is one I’m super curious. I hope they come back to those four, maybe even just make them the playable characters in the future.
I did quite enjoy the requiem leads and or advisors of team requiem. It wasnt a bad way to fill the void of our near silent protagonists that are the operators.
Poor Strauss though. He was so passionate about his work, and then seeing him discarded like trash was just heartbreaking.
The mute protagonists not commenting on the environment or literally anything going on around them really cheapens this zombies installment. The best/only "zombies" related comments I've heard was from Captain Price talking about juggernog and a couple others.
@@TyZ-ms5lu I get that, but its unrealistic to expect them to put in unique voicelines for every operator. Maybe they'll have a select group in the field next time, but I'm not holding my breath when operator skins are a big cash cow.
Weaver is a god damn badass, I hope he returns for the next zombies story.

Huh this ending was actually satisfying it’s not okay boom done bye. it’s a more realistic ending where everyone involved just gets screwed by higher ups on both sides
I actually love this ending. It's not a "HURRR GOOD GUYS WIN" one. The US and the CIA are just as bad as the Soviet Union and their KGB. No one wins. The Zykov twist was really poorly written though. It was just so obvious.
I feel like you're more rewarded for not following the intel as they make certain plot points very obvious

The zykov "twist" wasn't a twist at all. I mean he out right tells you when you start the ee that zykov and the forsaken are one in the same.
The flags may be different, but the methods are the same
To be fair I didn't expect Zykov to actually be the Forsaken himself. I thought the Forsaken was his own entity and that he pretended to be Zykov.

Bonin / Ogasawara islands, after looking it up I’m guessing that will be one of the possible map locations for Vanguard zombies. If so, I’m betting we will see Peck again at the end of that season’s storyline in the 90’s.

MW2 is probably gonna take place in the 2020s in which all of Og Requiem will be gone.

It's perfect in my eyes as it can be viewed story wise of meeting Samantha one day again and her missing home, The story continuing in Vanguard, Meeting Eddie again, Treyarch coming back for Zombies. Even hinting towards WW2 for the next game. It's so good

I won't lie seeing Grey, Strauss, and Carver being captured was like "Damn...." Grey Being Surprised, Carver seemed Understanding, Strauss was Pissed just like another Nazi Scientist I know lmao....Dr. Peck Idc but still cool nonetheless.

I honestly liked this zombie mode. It was familiar enough to jump back into but they managed to also add so many little things that it felt new at the same time. I didn’t mind using operators with requiem being the narrator. Honestly it felt like a callback to the first zombie map.
That Eddie twist was spine-chilling and well revealed, although it was hinted he would be involved somehow right from the beginning.

Yes. October 5th 2023 had a trailer for zombies in Mw3. Its shaping up to be interesting. and notice the eyepatch in the trailer....maybe weaver ISNT dead at all in Mw3...fascinating if a red herring.
Calling it now, Eddie plans to do something evil with the power of the Dark Aether. He trapped Carver, Grey, Strauss, Raptor 1 & the team inside "SOPHIA" with the Dark Aether and dropped it in the Marianas Trench. Thats where Peck pointed on the map & his "old friends" are the team stuck inside "SOPHIA" at the bottom of the ocean. He going to rescue them because he knows that Eddie has a plan (project janus). I dont think we'll see the continuation until Treyarchs next game in 2023.
My guy, Treyarchs next game is releasing in a month. The Zombies for Vanguard is completely devoted by Treyarch. The MP is developed by sledgehammer

If you watched the MCU movies i like to see the dark aether as the quantum realm, time goes by slower in there, but can also go back in time with it
looking back at this a year later, i was playing this during a rough time in my life and vividly remember doing this with my brother on the first day, one of the few lights in my dark days 🖤

Yeah, after being disappointed by origins ending and revelations ending, Tag Der Toten and Cold War’s ending make me faithful treyarch can continue to produce banger conclusions
I’m just gonna say it, the fact that Eddie has a kid is just insane. If the next Treyarch game does take place in the future as well for zombies, then I hope we get to see his son in the story.

This was a great ending to the zombies storyline on this game. The multiplayer may have been absolute crap but at least zombies made up for it.
They're both garbage in my opinion, and I'm not even gonna buy Vanguard to find out what happens. They had so much potential with zombies this time around and just ruined it.

lets start some speculation boys... so what could project janus be if all the gateways shutting was a good thing? Also Eddie has some prophecy or something as there's no way he knew Samanthas sacrifice would happen or even work.....

Well janus in ancient roman religion and myth is the god of beginnings, so they’re probably stating that the story has just begun and the project involves a lot more than what has happened in the past 4 maps. However we got forsaken today at the start of season 6, which is a bit suspicious to me, so i think we’re either getting a dlc 5 or some sort of continuation before vanguard drops or vanguard will have to somehow continue the storyline which will be finicky to say the least
Possibly the kronorium came with them when they left. After all, Nikolai did have it in the forest

Theory:
=> Vanguard is the continuation of the Dark Aether. The old friends could be referring to the the Requiem chiefs (Grey Carver Strauss and Weaver). Kravchenko will receive bad reputation from USSR government and that's leads to BO2 being canon or retconned. The Requiem chiefs will be playable in the next game and they will be free. I care a lot about Weaver cuz he saved the day in bo1 with Mason and defeated the Forsaken with the team, he dont deserve that. Ravenov and Raptor one are living normal life. We can see them accomplishing their mission.

This is a amazing easter egg quest and happy to richtofen awesome boss fight and amazing cutscenes and ending has blood of the dead beginning tune with richtofen return the zombies timeline is now getting more amazing

Why did Cold War have to end the second it was getting amazing , forsaken is one of the best maps in years , and the ending cutscene is too
Mauer was a pretty good map as well but I prefer Forsaken for the amount of side quests alone.
Dude the map literally just came out and we already have the ending. Treyarch needs to make this a challenge again

@@Rixel i saw that with the numbers, but it was really poor his cutscene, only showing his face and writing to disolve requiem. Kinda trash in my opinion, i miss the old richtofen even primis was fine
