I was born in 1999, well after John Candy died, but I grew up on his films I looked up to him so much I remember my father told me when I was 9 that he died I was so disappointed because heros aren’t supposed to die. Gone but not forgotten, and neither are the memories I have of me and my family sitting to his films and having fun. Hopefully he’s making God laugh his ass off upstairs!!🙏🏻🙏🏻

In the final freeze frame of Uncle Buck, it was UB saying goodbye to his niece, but it was also John Candy saying goodbye to us. He could connect with an audience thru film like no other.
