    Loving my V7 Stone Centenario. As a new (but matured) rider I think I can confirm it makes for a great first bike, it’s plenty fast enough but feels happy just pottering along enjoying the sensations and scenery, not irking you to press on and exceed your limits. It feels solid and well made like something you will want to hold on to and treasure. I didn’t seriously consider the 701, just didn’t quite connect with the styling, although do like that it has a distinctive look and attitude about it. Thanks for the video.

      No problem. I did the video and it was hard because these bikes are so different, but similar price, so I figured I'd contrast and compare them. The V7 is plenty of power but also is very manageable bike and just good. Good beginner and good forever bike, its a win win imo.

      thanks, as of right now the moto guzzi v7 is my favorite bike, best bike I've rode. I like the v7 iii which I also had rode and was about to buy then the new 850 version was announced soon after and I waited for this. Just a very satisfying machine.

    Great video. I am about to order the V7 Stone in the Centenario on Monday. I don't know the Husky 701, but my son hast the 401 Vitpilen with the Svartpilen handlebars. I rode it several times and when I testrode the Guzzi, I found the power very similiar to the Husky 401. I think power to weigth ratio is about the same. The Husky 401 is a beast in this class, so I guess the 701 outperfoms the Guzzi. I do like the looks of the Guzzi more though and I like the sitting position on the Guzzi way more than that on the Husky.

      @bikerbeliever8169  3 роки тому +2

      Yeah the 701 is gonna be a better performing bike, but I prefer the Guzzi, its feels more solid, better built, and always feel relaxed and just good every time I rise it. Sometimes when riding on svartpilen I get a little bored unless I'm on the right roads, its not as satisfying for most of the type of riding that I do. I love both bikes, just prefer the v7 the majority of the time.

    I appreciate very different bikes, but I was actually undecided between these 2 earlier this year. Happy you thought to compare them!
    I decided for the Guzzi as I preferred something smoother, easier to drive, classic and chilled. driving my v7 centenario now and very happy of it.
    I have a KTM 990 adventure too for when I want something more... vigorous.

      I know this is all subjective, just based on an individual's personal tastes and things, but I believe the new v7 is the best all round bike out right now. Its different and relaxing and just fun. Has right amount of power, handles good and easy imo, nearly perfect bike. I plan on hanging on to mine for a long time hopefully, if not forever, I like it that much. The husky is a good bike too, which you got a ktm 990, so thats a whole other ball game another level of performance I'd imagine.

    I'm in the market for a 2021 V7 Stone right now. I'm a 43 year old rider coming back to motorcycling after about a 15 year absence. When I saw the aesthetics of the V7 Stone I absolutely fell in love. A work of art indeed.
    Out of curiosity were able to haggle the dealer at all for the Guzzi?

    • @bikerbeliever8169
      @bikerbeliever8169  3 роки тому +3

      No this is the one bike I did not get a great deal on, but it had just came out new refreshed model. I'm in love with the bike it is fantastic. If you got to have it and have the money I would get it. But if your patient and can hold off Moto Guzzi usually has really good deals, like sometimes $1500 to $2000 off and if you got the new v7 for $7k to $8k, that is a steal.

    Downfall of the Svartpilen is the small fuel tank. But the single with a pipe? Can't beat the sound of a thumper. I prefer the Guzzi though. Been around forever so aftermarket is abundant. I'll be putting Hepco Becker C-Bow side bags on it and a small windscreen. The later mostly to protect the gauge.

    • @bikerbeliever8169
      @bikerbeliever8169  3 роки тому +1

      Yeah the tank is small and feel like I'm stopping much more often or more worried when riding it about getting stranded. I need to get me side cases or bags for the bike and probably a rear luggage rack. I got me exhaust ordered, could be few weeks, slowly but surely.

    ha ha... in Italian, "zz" makes a "tz" sound (say "pizza"), so it's Moto "GOOT-see". I love the sound of the Husky, and the V7 has much too quiet of muffler. My Kawasaki W800 twin sounds so much better, but I love the V7 and would like to get one. Great review. Thank you. The Moto sounds better out on the road. I like the whine. I like your wife....she giggles a lot! LOL

      yes I havent rode the W800, but I love the styling of it and have definitely considered trying to get one a few times. The Guzzi is way too quiet the muffler from the factory, but it does have a good grunt to it the motor and a lot of good mechanical sounds with the bike and the transmission shifting and driveshaft, I enjoy it. I put her giggles in their to aggravate her lol, she gets so mad.

      @@bikerbeliever8169 Like the W650, which I owned the first year in the US (2000...a blue one) it was a two-year bike (2001 was green). Now, 20 years later, they brought it back as the 800, but again, it looks like it's going to be a two-year bike. Last year, the first year, was red, and this is blue, but so far the dealers are telling me it's not showing up in the 2022 lineup, so they are going to be hard to get if you ever want one. MSRP was $9199 on my bike (and I got $2400 off that because they aren't selling well in the US, just like the W650) and now MSRP has jumped to $11,200!!!! Finding one will be tough if you really want to own one (that bevel gear drive on the right side is so cool, and the shim and bucket valve adjustment is a cakewalk). They have already become a collectors item. If and when I get the V7 (I'm dealing on one right now) I'll have to decide if I want to keep the W800 or the V7. Since they are both street bikes and so similar, it will be foolish to have two almost identical bikes sitting the garage, so I'll have to get rid of one of them. If the V7 is everything everyone says it is, the W800 will probably find a new home. Or maybe my Vespa 300GTS Touring model or my Yamaha XT250, and maybe my Honda CT70 clone, but something is going to have to go. I don't have room in my garage for that many bikes.

    Two great bikes, but the Husky is much more powerful at 74 HP - the Guzzi has 52....and weighs 100 pounds more! - And yes - every time I get on the throttle on my 701 I feel like I'm in danger of sliding off the back! So torquey!

    • @bikerbeliever8169
      @bikerbeliever8169  3 роки тому +1

      The new 2021 v7 has 65 horsepower, so little more than previous years, but the svartpilen has more and hangs onto it longer, the V7 is more steady torque from low revs for cruising. I still take the Husky on few hour rides, but not as comfy as the V7. The Husky is more peppy, punchy, looks good. They both are so good, I could talk about each all day how much I like both bikes, lol.

      On the V7? There is no fuel Guage. It does have a fuel reserve light that comes on when you have 1.1 gallons of fuel left. Around 60ish miles maybe more or less to get to gas station at that point.

    A little older (70ish) than most here. So with Biden gas heading for the campaign promised +$10 gallon. I have been considering going back to riding after 25 years away. The two bikes in consideration are the Guzzi (.new 853cc 6 speed in v7 or roamer or bobber) or a Husqvarna Svartpilen. So I would imagine any would be same performance… the cost is 40% more to own Italian twin v. Philippine single. I live now in Indiana so pot holes might favor the bobber… otherwise any suggestion.
    Now back in my day I rode Aprillia and Ducati bikes… my last a Ducati custom. That after I literally exploded a new Ducati… on way to dealer for first service at 500 miles. Of course, they claimed it was all my fault… so timid of another Italian. If you’ve had a bike engine grenade it’s lucky you live through it… as nasty pieces fly off everywhere, the tires for as long as they stay together are soaked in oil, and the thing might come apart in the middle… yes 5,000 rpm and 60mph… not something normal. About this time Dan Gurney was interested in me helping build his Alligator bike… no… why if you have to ask… no! No I did not quit riding then but that always Italian bikes make me wonder… like buying two connecting rods and having them weight 39 grams different… is that a worn-out repaired forging die thing and two rods but at different times or some balance concept? So though I love Italian bikes looks but makes me wonder. Dan would pick any day the Husqvarna single as he was a single man… but I mostly like v-2 of some sort. I am more slowed down and under control now and days of routine 85 mph in 20 zone, sidling around on ramps onto the freeway in the middle of the night, and wheelie-stoppies are over???

    • @bikerbeliever8169

      Wow was lot to take in. Uhm yhe Guzzi is a bery laid back bike great for cruising but is not slow imo. Not a sport bike no, but just feels good the ride. It gets 50 to 55mpg and has a 5.5gallon tank. The Husky 701 gets 50mpg if ridden reasonably and only has 3.2 gallon tank if I remember right. I like both bikes equally for different reasons. But the Guzzi will probably be the bike that suites you best. I got over 6k miles on mine its been reliable. I've got over 4500 miles on Husky no problems. Stock tires on Husky only lasted me 2k miles. Still on stock tires on v7 but looking to change soon.
