ray of hope is just extended song title i think.. its the song title in japanese trailer, there's a kanji before Mix Ray of Hope.. probably its just "Hikari Mix Ray of Hope" song title..
They only just announce the Ray of Hope Remix in the trailer. Only this trailer has the song right now. I am sure it will be on the soundtrack for the game after it comes out, unless they release it in single form first. Probably depends on Utada .
The Ray of Hope mix has found its way to several user's iPhones already, though it is not yet available for the entire public.

I'm kinda sad. For a second I thought the music was going to be the new Utada Hikaru song they planned to use for KH3. Instead it's just a really friggin' sweet remix of Simple and Clean.
Still good though, but it's still possible that Utada will come back in KH3.

Pretty sure she's still gonna make music for KH3. Besides my theory is that they wanted to have music with something words to begin with instead going orchestral with DDD and it's still too early to get new music save the best for last.
Utada Hikaru has been on hiatus for several years. She only recently came out of hiatus, and I know she herself created this remix, she retweeted and talked about it on Twitter. So I'm pretty confident she'll be back to do a new song for Kingdom Hearts 3.
I'm just speculating here, but I'm gonna guess the reason we got a lot of orchestral remixes for Simple and Clean/Hikari is basically due to her being away, and not wanting her voice in the game while she was gone. I'm actually hoping that, because the alternative is I know there's been a bit of a dispute with her music. I don't know if it's Utada herself or her father or someone else, but they felt she wasn't being paid enough by Disney/Square Enix.

Last game I played was BBS, and it's been awhile. I hope I can experience the joy and excitement once again as I did playing KH2. The Franchise is uniquely Amazing, and inspiring. It's a game I never wanted to complete.
with the constant delays, years difference between each game and the never ending story, you might never finish the game

Also important to note that if a person falls to darkness and gives in well, he can't save her if she chooses that fate. If she wants to see her friends again she is going to have to save herself and hold on to hope again to see them.

Actually, Disney is legally allowed to remix this song however they want without her permission since they technically own it, so it's up in the air whether or not Utada was involved with this or not.

It's the accumulated corrupted hearts of worlds from Kingdom Hearts 1. Think "World Bomb"
-You first see it when Destiny Islands is destroyed (the eye of the storm)
-It is essentially what turns into The End of The World.
-At the end of Kingdom Hearts 1, the light causes it to explode (the blue thing that shatters) and release all the broken worlds.
It just looks 10000x more awesome due to a decade of advancement in animation.

I'm so glad we got a new Simple and Clean remix. It may not be a new song (fingers crossed for new KH3 theme song) but it's 100x better than reusing the same ol' Simple and Clean/Sanctuary versions for the 20th time.
apparently they reused simple and clean a lot because utada had some issues with sony. it's been resolved now so don't worry..or so i heard, which is why we have this remix for this trailer. this also boosts the possibility that she'll sing a new theme for kh3 but don't take my word on this. these are just rumors that i'm now giving to you

It's also called "A Fragmentary Passage" but it's not the .2 version. It's something else that came before it I believe.
Aqua will definitely recognize them, since both she and Terra took great notice of them, and Aqua even considered passing her keyblade to Sora, but didn't want both Sora and Riku to be Keyblade masters, for fear of what it'd do to their friendship.

Anyone else catch that 0.2 takes place during Chain of Memories? Mickey's in his CoM attire.
It takes place between the first game and CoM. It's easy to figure out if you pay attention.
Mickey disappeared without warning the same day the first game started to investigate why worlds where disappearing, that's why he left the note. Throughout all of the 1st game and most of CoM he was in the RoD. This is the only time he could have reunited with Aqua after BbS so it makes sense that he would be in his CoM outfit.
Project Destati CoM. It opens after 3D (becasue Mickey is used as a framing device) but the story itself is more or less parallell to the first game's placement in the timeline.

You know it's funny how when Aqua first landed in the "land of darkness" and fought through hordes of heartless only a few hours (subjectively ) in the Land of Darkness had passed but when she met up with Ansem/Diz he told her it had been 12 years in comparison to the "land of light" so she'll have a lot of catching up to do with Mickey & Sora in KH 3 for the final confrontation with Xehanort.

TheSanarossOne No, the PS4 Pro is bulkier than the original launch version PS4s to accommodate the improved technologies. But the PS4 Pro will allow you to choose between a steady 60 fps @ 1080p resolution, or a lower frame rate but in 4K, its not quite powerful enough to do both 4k and 60fps at the same time. Though I've heard conflicting reports on whether the PS4 Pro's 4K is native, or simply an upscaled HDR. Personally I think it has to be native becuse all PS4s including Slims amd launch versions, will soon be updated to accommodate HDR upscaling. If that was all the PS4P was doing there'd be no need for anyone to get one because they'd be getting the same results with a base model.

I'm pretty excited for this game and all, but man. I just want Kingdom Hearts 3. It's been well over 10 years since I finished Kingdom Hearts 2. I've played all of the spin-offs and side stories. I'm tired of waiting on a release date that seems as though it will never come. I love this series, but I'm beginning to lose my patience. This is a big chapter of my gaming childhood that I'm ready to close.

This pretty much proves that, new song or not, whatever issues Utada had with Disney has been put to rest. True it doesn't require permission for a song to be remixed, but it *does* require permission for that remix to be distributed digitallly, and since 0.2 is part of 2.8, which is on the PS4, and Sony wants all PS4 titles to be available for download, that means they got Utada's permission for digital distribution of the music she provides for the series.

I don't know if that's necessarily true. I think she did create the remix of this song, but that doesn't mean this game or KH3 is going to be available digitally.

Sony and Utada have their own contract, it doesn't matter what rule they flower over other consoles, Kingdom Hearts is a different case. They've already had a falling out before, if she's come back then there must be some kind of special agreement or she and her manager has changed their mind about digital distribution of Kingdom Hearts with her music in it.

For material she didn't authorize to be used. One was a greatest hits collection and the other was just a recollection of older songs.
So I could understand her frustration with her label on this. The whole Disney situation I'm not really sure of what went down there. But it was likely something similar knowing how these idiots normally operate.

So from what I'm able to interpret of the dialogue in the Japanese trailer versus the English trailer, there is actually a remarkable difference in the...nature of what they're saying. I'll focus on Aqua. Her tone, dialogue, all clearly are visible of vehement resistance to falling into darkness. However, the English dialogue is a lot more mellow, faded, a representation of her struggle.
For example, Aqua in the English version says "Now I can be one with darkness." In comparison, the Japanese version roughly says "At this rate I'll be one with darkness." Likewise, the tone in "My heart is strong" is far less angry than the same dialogue performed in the Japanese version.
I just find it interesting how two different languages have interpreted Aqua's story and told it in such subtly different ways. Personally, I'm a fan of the English interpretation. Aqua has been in the Realm of Darkness for 10 years, there is no doubt that fighting her way through with hope is bound to fade away as she finds no escape or hope whatsoever. The lack of energy in her voice acting reflects that quite clearly and it personally makes me feel more empathetic for Aqua and gives me a greater drive to hope that she does get a Happy Ending.

yep basically. Birth by Sleep, Kingdom Hearts, 358/2 Days, Re:Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts 2, Dream Drop Distance, and Kingdom Hearts 2.8 (whatever Aqua's part in it is called) are the only entries (in chronological order) that you really need to worry about to know the story.
yeah, just play them in order, and you got most of the whole story. You didn't get everything, but you've got about 95% of it. also, in 2.5, you can skip re coded, its meaningless

darkraimola Yes prequels and sequels are common but this series started with a very core concept and has expanded upon that almost exponentially. You can get the story by playing them in order but these games have been spread out narratively out of order over the last more than a decade and spread between every platform imaginable from the Sony PS2 and PS3 to PSP, Nintendo Gameboy Advance, DS and 3DS, current gen consoles, PC and even mobile. It's only recently that a lot of these were compiled to be playable on the same system.
Doesn't make it difficult to understand. Its like MGS. Great story, but is so convoluted and has so many twists, it may be difficult for some to understand. Personally its no issue, I've emulated all of them, and it clicked with me first try.
I'm actually guessing Recoded takes place at least a month or 2 after KH2 and 3D takes place almost immediately after.
Andrew Voutsinas Not difficult to understand per se but when the narrative is revealed out of order and not consistently offered on the same platform that the individual player may or may not own and the numbered sequels assume that you have played all the other games offered on all those other platforms and you have all this exposition and characters thrown at you as though you know all about it then it can leave you scratching your head a bit. It's like when a book series you read spins off into another medium like comics and the next novel assumes you read the comics to continue the narrative even though maybe you never read those because you're not into comics. Its not that you can't pick up on what you missed and figure it out but it makes a lot of assumptions about a players understanding of the narrative.
