Good to see ya back in the channel, Quinn. Very nice fix! How did you smooth the silicone on, so certain spots aren't too clumpy? Also, maybe a frontosa/yellow lab/blue dolphin mix for my suggested stock option. 👍
How is it holding up? Doing a reseal on my 220 gallon now. Had a small pin hole leak on the bottom. Real nervous about long term durability if I don't fully disassemble the glass but it's just too big so I'm doing the bottom and all 4 corners of silicone but leaving the panel joints alone.
@@jamesmakesvideos well it 3 and a half years ago and still holding water I sold it to my neighbor and he is running a salt water tank with it. And it's doing just fine.
@@razinfishes1918 Fantastic! That makes me less nervous about mine. So many people saying they had issues and it isn't worth it. I just bought the tank last month, and paying $3K+ for another isn't possible for me, so I'm going to give it a shot.
@@jamesmakesvideos don't be nervous just take your time and get all the old silicone off. Buy a box of razor blades and change often the sharper the blade the better it comes off
Over the summer I had to move my planted 55 gallon tank and had to re seal it... it was scary for a 14-year-old but I got the job done! Let me know if any of you wanna hear how I did that with no deaths in the process 😅
In your situation, i think kids would get a kick out of classroom water pets per say, i might actually stock it with an Oscar or some type of fish that had a huge personality. If you don't want to go that route, how about 2 or 3 Freshwater Tiger Moray eels?
Personally I think breeding projects are some of the most fun things you can do in a classroom! I think you guys should get a pair of a medium sized cichlid something like maybe krobia or potentially a cares act species like topaz cichlids granted they are in the same family as convicts so you'll probably get a crap ton of babies but maybe pairing them with another Justice boisterous fish that could hold its own would help with maintaining the population of the babies that survive. Or even a live bearer tank like a live bearer community would be fun there are so many fun godieds (although I'm probably spelling that wrong) that would probably be a fun breeding project and they are also on the cares list.
Excellent video! I would put the mbuna in the 90 gallon tank where you originally planned for them to go, then you can put the little picked on one back in with them and the extra space should fix that problem. Then you can put something new in the 75 gallon tank.
What about the seal holding the glass together if it leaks wouldn’t that mean the seal in between the glass is compromised too? ,I recently did my 125 for the first time .im going on 36 hr waiting for the silicone to fully dry.
Good job on the resealing. Since it's a taller tank, I would say maybe Angelfish. But if that is too basic you could do Blood Parrot fish or if you wanted a single fish a Texas Cichlid. My first thought was Discus but with you being gone from the classroom during breaks, I don't think that would be a good idea.
Came here to say welcome back. Missed your lovely face. You did an excellent job. Wish I’d resealed my 125 but I sold it and just bought a new one. I think you should give the 90 to the Mbunas and I like the idea of some angel fish or discus.
You could put angel fish in the 75 gal with some other community type fish. Or put them in the 90 gal. How long is that tank I have a 90 gal and mine is tall and 4 ft long. I wish it was shorter and a 5 ft tank IMO.
Stock it with parrot fish and one bichir. That’s my style anyway.. Cool video, I currently received a used leaky 90 gallon. Gonna record the process too. This tank has tons of calcium and gunk built up on it, so this will be a complete restoration. My wife and friend already sanded and painted the stand. Now I gotta clean the glass and reseal. Any tips will be appreciated!
Welcome back brother Quin.Good to see you after a long time...After lot of hardwork the tank is ready for fish...Looking forward to see which new fishes u choose ❤
I'm working on a brand new 135 gallon Master Aquarium brand that had a leak (go figure $800 aquarium brand new). I bought a fresh qt of acetone and it doesn't remove any of the very light silicone residue, any suggestions on what I could use to remove?
CB thanks for this video from now on im not turning down no aquariums dat leak as long as the glass is in great/good condition now where did u get dst big razor blade scraper from n what kind of silicone did u use and blue tape ? 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾on video

I did my 220 gallon just like you did. And yes it is a long process. But with time and patience it's well worth it. You did a great job!!!
That is awesome! Definitely agree 👍🏻

Stock with tanganyikas

Vallsinara filled jungle tank with a bunch of Rainbow fish or Angelfish and some tetras? Or something chiclidy 😅
do a saltwater tank for that tank
Great job on the reseal of the tank 👏. I would fill it with goldfish 😊.

I love these dudes. Work life balance is something I need to work on too. How do y’all juggle everything?
Thanks for following along! It helps that there’s 3 of us to carry the weight. But mostly, it’s just a lot of hard work (but we enjoy it)

Peacocks or shell dwellers

If it's big enough put Mascara barbs in it

Awesome
Couple things
I'm jealous you are in your fish room almost all day.
And power bill must be great

gotta get Heidi Klum's permission first
Albino African frogs would be interesting
