is not that bad bro, Grapplers are good against Sonic, especially Inci and DK. They can kill Sonic so early and are surprisingly good in neutral because of his defensive tools, I don't think they win the MU, but is not as bad how it seems.

Altough what happened here was that Sonix played agressively asf withouth having to, and really bad to his standars, thing wich tweek, leo, charles, etc... claimed and confirmed
In the stream that I saw, many said that this seemed impossible, I still don't know how Skyjay makes a match up against perhaps the fastest character in fiction look easier rather than beating his doubles partner, without a doubt... he is the best, when you can adapt with your tools, without changing to something easier, without a doubt you can reach the sky!

I was SO ready for Skyjay to steal game 3 with an up special on that last stock 💀 he did phenomenally, and still smiled the entire time. Meanwhile Sonix looking mad even in victory lmao
Sonix really feel like this shouldnt happend. He was taken too soft and almost got punished by Skyjay, who took a mile with Sonix's mistakes. Even then, you knew that sonix was onky expecting Spargo to be a threat this bracket, but the cat have Wings.
Consider Sonix mains Sonic and the A LOT of the community shits on him for it, I don't really blame him. Even when he wins, he still loses in a way ;-;

Getting to time out vs incineroar is really hard to get because Alolan Whip beats all of sonic's specials except the startup of side b. With correct stagebans, going for time out is near impossible.

You can tell Skyjay was running out of gas by that game 5. Sonix has really high endurance, which is why he's a top 3 player. Ggs

Skyjay won this matchup offline before, vs Peli at Boss Battles. Yeah, not the same level as Sonix' Sonic, but Peli is the best Sonic in Europe, and the matchup is still super bad for Incineroar.

Nah Sonix was engaging too much in scenarios where Incin has the advantage & is playing the game, plus with how pissed Sonix got mid-set, he's definitely grinding this mu for next time.
Would totally expect another rematch at a Smash Factor or other Latin American events.

He did until game 5. He jumped from ledge almost every time. The only time he tried to mix up was after he had just gotten punished for jumping, but it was really obvious and he got f-smashed.

Who is better than Skyjay? Best attitude. Funnest character to root for. The most fire sets. All he needs is to clinch more sets and he has it ALL (Not taking anything away from him. He wins an insane amount of sets, and blows my mind every time)

Here's my theory:
Skyjay's first win came from Sonix underestimating him that first game. Skyjay does pretty bad a lot of first games I've seen from him, but I think it's on purpose so that he can learn the reads and save the tricks for the rest of the matches. His first win he plays great. His second win he exploits a bunch of Sonix's habits and errors. Sonix is super pissed now but Skyjay is still riding his high. Sonix adapts super well to Skyjay in game 5 and Skyjay doesn't adapt very well in the moment. He seems kind of tired to me after those first four games. Idk. Either his mindset was off or Sonix seriously doubled down on getting the set win right there and then

Question: Why does no one use the fukkin counter/repel moves of these characters on these high offensive players? is the frames that horrible? Joker, Fox, Mario, etc... all have the ability to punish high offense player!
The problem lies in high end lag and vulnerability to getting combo-ed if it misses.
