I notice about having a cool name for an NBA team in Pittsburgh and yet a name that comes to mind is the Scorpions and yet Scorpions sounds cool, as what people hear Pittsburgh Scorpions is like a name that wouldn’t be reckon with. I bet Scorpions will be an awesome name for a basketball team in Pittsburgh.
The Hawk and Roger Brown were both unfairly tainted by the scandal until a gambler named Jack Molina told prosecutors he was innocent. But the NBA, being what it was and the times, banned him. I was lucky enough as a kid to see him play in the ABL against our Hawaii Chiefs.
Adam Silver has recently been talking about expanding the league but the tv deal has to be dealt with first. Pittsburgh can possibly get a NBA team too in this time frame. P.S: I want the NBA to return to NBC in 2025 where more broadcasting games happens.
Actually, they played four seasons in Pittsburgh. 1967-68, 1969-70 as the Pipers and 1970-72 as the Condors.
