Thank you so much! I spent days trying to figure this one out and you helped me get my steering wheel controls back in less than 10 minutes! now I can use my controls. Ohh the little things we take for granted. Also a very much necessity since my unit has no buttons or knobs! I did not need to connect Key 1 or Key 2 or use a steering wheel control module because my unit came with it installed. Also, my settings didnt say protocol, it said CAN Set. Hope my info also helps others.

Thank You! Informative video. I had the similar problem, steering wheel buttons were not working. Then I just changed the protocol and now buttons are working. So yes, I can confirm that selected protocol affects functionality. I selected different protocols until I found the working one. Do it at your own risk!

I followed the steps in this video to attempt to connect voice connect and it doesn't work. I used to be able to press a control button on my steering wheel to initiate a phone call, but can't with this system. It's really frustrating. I have Podofo Voice and am having issues getting that to function properly. My unit is Podofo 9212B. The manual that came with it is very unhelpful so any help you can provide is appreciated! Also, I use iPhone and prefer to use a different map app for navigation. Can apps that didn't come with the unit be downloaded?
Does this unit incorporate any other vehicle-specific functions like climate controls (fan speed, temperature setting, etc) or door open/close etc?
no climate control. when i bought they didnt claim to work with climate control. but they did claim to work with steering wheel buttons
@@lavithhcm Was this a car-specific model or a universal one? Did it come with a CANBUS decoder box?
It works but my steering controls also control the original radio. Whenever i press VOL + it turns up the volume on the new head unit as well as switches the old radio to another mode. Likewise when i press CH+

Hi there, I have the same unit is there a way to make the same key do 2 function my old andriod radio had that basically if I short press I increase volume and if I long press I change songs. I can't find that option on this radio for my life
Yeah, i undetstand what you are trying to do but unfortunately the firmware does not support long press ot short press of the streering wheel button

How do you map the steering wheel voice button to Siri in Apple CarPlay?

Do I need Canbus decoder to use steering learn control? I have a Ford Focus 2007 and my Android is TS7
I dont think so. Learning is function of Android head unit firmware.
@@lavithhcm but i cant learn the android steering wheel control to the car physical control, everytime i pressed the button it says "learning failed, please try again" or something similar like that
@@mynameiswoody4529 check your wire connection, try interchange the wires. Mine had same issue i interchanged the wires and it workes. Like key1 to red wire key2 to green, just do the opposite, key1 to green key2 to the red.
My SWC mode button connected “success” but the volume and up and down select will not connect “failed.” Any ideas?

Awesome video! My main issue right now is I dont know the password. Should I try 8888? Tried 0000 and 1234 already. I have the setup for the 06-11 civic si. I tried doing the steering button learning as is and it isnt registering my inputs.
Try all the known password from google search. They didnt provide the password when I purchared the unit. Ask the seller if you can.

Here are some passwords I found -
General password - 8888 or *123456*
Dev options - 7890 or 7890+hour (eg 789010 for 10am system time)
Usb debugging - john@tw-desktop
File - install apk - 789012
Can you display HVAC controls on the head unit?
My AHU unit doesn't do that. But I know my coworker has a unit which integrates into his HVAC and Audio system. It really depends for what car and what AHU. Also, this requires you to remove the OEM system out of the car.
How did you wire in the key 1 or key 2 wires? I'd love to see where you connected them to

I have a accord 3.5 and using same unit but my steering wheel control are not working properlly, My volume will change radio mode... Any suggestions?
i think i had this issue before but it can easily be fixed by changing the pulldown resistor setting.

Does it work normally with OEM head unit? Just make sure all the buttons works fine with OEM unit first. For reference, ua-cam.com/video/P-g_8cydoIU/v-deo.html

@@jasondrinkell8913 I mean when you put your new unit in sometimes the settings inside your new Android head unit will screw up the OEM like in the video. When that happen your steering wheel buttons won't work probably. Hope it helps!
