    I just made these a couple of hours ago. First time I ever made pretzels. WHOA! They're the best I've ever tasted, if I do say so myself. I'm no cook or baker so, if I can do it, anybody can.

    Wow! You can really tell you worked there. You make them so fast and they're beautiful, uniform and perfect....nice! Thanks for sharing this video on how to make them!

    The pretzels were absolute delight... I made a few changes
    For each cup I add 3tsp of sugar
    And for 5 cups of flour I added 1tsp of yeast n let it slow proofing for about 15 hours it develops so much flavour
    It turned out to be 90% copy of aunty Anne's
    For sure I would be saving so much money now
    Thank you so much for the recipe...u are a darling

    I added 3tbsp of brown sugar, with the baking soda I left mines in there for 15 seconds. They were amazing when finished. After I brushed with butter I sprinkled a little sugar over them. They didn't last long at all!!

    What if I wanted cinnamon sugar pretzels instead of salted, would you add a cinnamon sugar mixture to the pretzels after you buttered them?

    Food grade lye (from Amazon or eBay) will give your pretzels a golden brown glossy skin with real pretzel flavor.
    Baking soda will make your pretzels yellow dull crust with bitter flavor.

    What is the purpose of the "snap"?

    • @jen93106
      @jen93106 8 років тому +1

      I was wondering the same thing and all I can think of is that it (the "snap") secures the middle-bottom of the dough to the surface in order that the twisting can occur without it loosening and making the fluid procedure less efficient and more difficult.

    • @bayjenn
      @bayjenn  7 років тому

      the snap helps to minimize the shrinkage when placing them onto the pan.

    • @adamgold2071

      Yes, if you have ever had auntie Anne's they have a hint of sweetness. And it's from the brown sugar.
