What you've read makes my head ache. I can't understand how and why anyone would believe any of this. It's incomprehensible.
It starts as a hang out for lonely, unhappy, sad, confused people and slowly they become like a brotherhood. It gives their lives meaning. By the time they get to learning the baffling science fiction stuff they are already committed and feel indebted to the church.
I don't think you need to believe it literally.

Hello Chris! I don't know how busy your schedule is, and I imagine it's busier than normal what with the current news, but I would really, really appreciate you making a part 2 to this video explaining in detail what OT levels 5 through 8 are like from a former Scientologists perspective.
In 1978 LRon realized the gig was up and the church was losing ground and customers so he contrived yet more levels not yet achieved... so called. And EWE can only tell when a NEWBT is released or 'cleared' via the e-meter... Hmm... what a racket!

okay so I got a hold of some of these OT manuals that were printed in the 1990s. (I can't believe how much these cost, seeing as these manuals ((books)) had no bindings)
Anyway, my first impression was: "this is a form of self HYPNOSIS".

Same can be said about the Bible but at least Christianity upfront about it’s beliefs meanwhile Scientologists don’t get to the OT levels until at least a decade in the religion and having spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on the different levels prior to OT which has very slowly brainwashed them. It all starts out as logical and meaningful and very slowly over many years takes the person down a rabbit hole.

Aha moment here!!!... NOW i understand the whole OT3.. it always seemed weird to me that the Xenu thing alone would send people running for the door... the rest of the material adds to the depth of the level (by lrh standards! LOL).

Does it not seem solipsistic to consider a resonance of emotion that outdate the entire planet by nature of its physical state (electromagnetic response) to be entirely terrestrial...? Just as a side note Thetans sounds like Satan 80% of the time the way you pronounce it, and with no knowledge whatsoever people probably just understand Satan all the time also shown this way in the subtitles just noticed it right one time
First time in 9 years that I'm hearing this but thanks for the feedback. Thetan is, after all, Hubbard's wordplay and sort of inside joke about Satan, so there's that.
