@KevyShaves a great detailed educational breakdown of wet shaving products that's straight to the point.

I can’t wait to see how you like it compared to the Supply. I heard that Rex might do a single edge as well.

The blades are Personna like Supply, Taconic, etc. I prefer the Japanese Schicks or NOS Schick Platinum Plus. The Chinese Schicks can be good too although QC not all that great. Supply is about to release their own blades made in Japan. I tried a beta they gave me in a Schick branded type I (eye) and I found it indistinguishable from a Japanese Schick - which is high praise because these are my absolute favorite injector blades. The issue with them is they are relatively expensive for injector blades and they take a long time to get from Japan to USA. It should be noted that injector blades last for quite a few more shaves than DE blades so direct cost per blade is not the best cost comparison.

Greetings Kevy, I have a PAL Adjustable, of which this Parker is clearly designed after, and really enjoy using it. Stainless steel with plastic in the handle. Hope this is comparable in quality and efficiency.

Very nice demonstration and discussion about this single edge razor! Even though many online forum discussions tell that rinsing and drying works easily, as long as easy disassembly for cleaning and drying is not possible, this razor is not for me.

Hi Kevy! Oh, the injector razor...nice. I had a Ever-Sharp/Schick Hydro-Magic Injector that came with Personna 74 Injector blades. You could get about 40 shaves out of those things, but I sold it to Razor Emporium when the blades finished. You should be able to get a very nice shave out of that if you can source decent blades. Thanks for posting mate!

First off, congratulations on video number 500! I did a Parker review as well as a Parker vs PAL Adjustable video on my UA-cam channel a few months ago. Looking forward to hearing some more thoughts on the V2.

Hey, Kevy! I recently bought one of these myself, and being a relative noob to wet shaving, I tend to prefer a mild razor. I can say that this one is fairly mild, given that I dial it up to 3.5-4 quite comfortably, though I have shaved at setting 5 without any complaints. The blade that came loaded was a total dud, but I got five good shaves and one ok shave out of the next blade, which I consider pretty good given that I tend to give up on a DE blade after around two.

The V2 is supposed to be a bit more efficient.

They make it sound like the blade that comes in it is sharp and ready to go. Mine was entirely dull. I was lathered up, took a stroke and nothing. Zero edge. Replaced it and much better. I ordered some Schick blades to see how they compare. I’ve heard they’re better.

    • @TheShavingDisciple

@@EricAdamsYT I never tried the Parker blades. I bought mine second hand. I prefer the Schick blades in my other injectors, though.

@@EricAdamsYT That was exactly my experience. I think they put a metal slug in the razor when they ship it rather than a proper blade.

An interesting design, retro style, I guess this type of mechanics was the predecessor to the current cartridge razor (someone correct me if I'm wrong) let's hope the performance.

I would love to see you wear a dixie cup hat and do a tribute shave to him whipping up a lather how he does.

Would this type of razor help me avoid razor bumps on my chin? I am assuming I would want to use the mildest setting?

    • @kevyshaves4109
      @kevyshaves4109  2 роки тому

Yes, it might help with that. The lowest settings are quite mild so there shouldn’t really be much irritation. Kevy 😊

I think you set the razor on the highest setting which gives more room for the blade to slide without rubbing against the stops

The key opens everything up, which keeps the blade from running across the stops. Same way the vintage injectors accomplished it.

Comprehensive and interesting unboxing review. Thks. Blade loading didn't quite seem "smooth" though, but I guess that improves with use. How does the Parker version compare to analogous razors by other brands?

@@kevyshaves4109 I've been watching your videos since 2017. Never commented on your video. You have been making videos for a long time. When I'm bored I check your videos and I feel better.
I wanted to request or suggest you something. I've been using a Gillette Permasharp stainless(Made in India) with a Gillette Slim adjustable on setting 8. It gives a wonderful shave. Too aggressive. Even a feather usually in a slim or other razor doesn't shave me that close.
Why don't you check that combo. It will really blow your mind. Would be cool if you could do a video on that.

I have the "REAL THING"! The Parker is a spot on clone of a PAL Adjustable Injector Razor which in itself is a variation of the Original Schick Injector Razor. I feel absolutely no need to buy a copy. This is the same line of thinking/logic I had regarding GBSC Fat Guy vs the Fatboy. All this said, I am out of blades so I might be dropping by Parker to try out their blades. ;-)
