Water-soluble preshave oil is the answer to avoid mucky hands, cleaning the sink, etc. It basically lasts long enough on a wet face for a shave but disolves after running your hands under the water for around 10 seconds.
I mainly use Poraso products. Their pre-shave cream, either their soap or cream (both in the green containers), and I use Nivea aftershave balm. The other products I use is made by a German company name Speick. I use their cream or a shave stick, and their aftershave lotion and balm. I have been wet shaving for the past 62 years and after hundreds of different products tried over these years, these are the two brands I use. If I am in a hurry, I shave with a Feather double edge razor using Astra blades. But when I want to take my time and relax, I use a straight razor..
I nearly died at the whole body wash bit. I lurked thrown off by the overall serious/professional time I’d the video thus far. His expressions and seemingly not trying to be funny made that SO freakin hilarious. I liked the video based off that scene alone.
I have shaving soap and Gillette shaving foam and for you guys that are curious about a safety razor I love using mine. I get a closer shave the blades are ridiculously inexpensive in comparison to a cartridge razor. 👍
I usually shave while taking a hot shower. If it’s a daily shave, I just stick my face in the spray of water and shave away. If I have a few days growth, I’ll put some conditioner on the stubble and that lubricates the shave nicely. It’s a lot more expensive than your listed options, but it’s handy.
I recommend anything that contains a lot of Aloe Vera & Vitamin E. My personal favorite products are Proraso Green shave cream and shave soap and the Proraso Blue pre and post shave cream is awesome and so is the Proraso blue shave cream.
Proraso! First time user of it, and the cream is wonderful! As some will call it a "beginner's cream", I don't get it because my face is a smooth as a baby's a$$. Great stuff! Unfortunately, where I live, it's hard to find at a drug store or it's expensive, so I have to go online but have gotten relatively good deals on Amazon ($9 CDN for a 150 ml tube), and it goes a long way.
Always had problems shaving and I have to shave every day because of work . I’ve been blessed I’ve been put on Prorazor it is the best product I’ve ever used the green has menthol don’t kneed any aftershave balm tried it you want regret it
Well done videos. Thank you! I have used shaving soaps for several years because of their; low cost, good results and durability. I did use Barbasol when I was much younger and it would leave a rusty ring on the shelf but it worked fine. Recently I have been using a shaving cream for morning workday shaves. It is faster to lather and I get a good shave with it too. I am interested in hells now though because I have a beard and mustache that I shape. I will check it out. Any suggestions are welcome if you have the time.
I bought my first straight razor and would like a professional opinion if I did the right pick i bought a union straight razor set with a Duke Cannon shaving cream that has aloe and would really appreciate to know if it was a good purchase? also an older lady that sold me the razor gave me advise to start shaving a balloon before my face which I said to myself thats a great idea what is your professional opinion sir 😊?
Whether your purchase is a good choice is hard to say, of course, we always recommend our own products. :-) I think everyone practices the first steps with a razor differently, in fact the handling and feeling on your own face is a lot different than on a balloon.
all good sir, if the razor is sharp its down to skills. I’ve never shaved a balloon. I’m a straight razor shaver only. some useful content on my channel if interested. regards dapper shaves
In these Inflationary Times. HERE IS AN EASY WAY TO DO IT MY FRIENDs better then Can Stuff''''''''''''' Use any hard Bar Soap, Tallow or Glycerin based Soaps out there? To fit in any Mugs or Cups? Recently changed from Barbasol to Pacific Shaving Co’s cream products. Love it so far. Good all natural brand
Another down side to shave foam or gel is the propellant(butane) which can usually irritates the skin

In that case our skin is going to be ready as well as our facial hair , and we are going to have a close shave.

I use Truefitt & Hill shaving cream which I consider the best for strait razor.
Ive used a couple of shave gels in my life, not one of them was transparent. Not sure what youre talking about tbh.
Do you understand what the definition of transparent is??? Maybe look it up
i using tabac barber soap
Not all shaving gels are transparent in fact very few are.
Bar soap in a hot shower. Rub the soap directly into the beard and make sure it's thick.
I'm looking for shaving advice from a guy who hasn't shaved since 1865....dafuq....
Yes!
He is a barber. He shaves multiple people a day.
