Yeah, I did see the review on the sonic cane, didn't know it was limited though, also lets hope they someday make a toy of 2nd doctor sonic because that's one of my favorite sonics

Just an FYI for anyone wondering: The third tone on 11th's screwdriver was used in the episode "Closing Time" to defeat a Cybermite.
With the 11th screwdriver you were supposed to be able to use the handle button as if you take off the top of the screwdriver you can see that it actually has two buttons under the handle. 1 for extended and 1 for non-extended. A simple design flaw
I always though that button would allow the red button on the bottom to light up the screwdriver

Technically, all versions of the device, even the onscreen ones, are toys.

In the UK, way way back when the 9th and 10th doctors first aired, the 9th doctor's screwdriver was marketed as the yellowish one and the 10th was the grey one

@@garydorrian7869 thass not true at all, in fact the original Aztec props were originally painted gold, which is why they look creamy with the crackle paint. Just CO being misinformed sadly
@@rafeski_ Yes, to be exact, two props were made for the production of series 1. The primary colour for both was cream, but the base coats were different. One had a gold base coat, making it look beige, while the other had a brown base coat, making it look grey. The beige one appeared in three episodes of series 1, before it was modified to have a slider. When this modification was made, it was repainted to match the other prop, so from then on, there were two grey sonics.
Two new props were made for series 4, and these used grey paint. One was given to David Tennant after the series 4 specials, while the other was used one last time for "The Eleventh Hour". That one was repainted blue for that episode, so it's possible that CO might have been trying to replicate that one when they did the cyan one.
Cool stuff. I admit I was waiting for the sonic lipstick. Alas....

For the fourth doctors sonic screwdriver you have to pull the collar down two times and hold on the third pull and it will emit a different sound. For the fourth sound pull the collar down 3 times and hold on the fourth hold! Hope this helps
(This is for all of the Classic screwdrivers, even the 8th's)

Just wanted to say that the first weird noise for the 11th Doctor's sonic was used in 'Closing Time' against a Cybermat, and the second weird noise is the sound of the sonic struggling to open a deadlock seal.
Omd I remeber I had the 10th one back in the day for like my 6th birthday. I remembered the invisible Inc n all that 😂sick👌

Turns out I wasn't working it right, so I tried again and got all four sounds. As shown in the Secret Tricks video. :-)
12:44 when you open it up, there should be a little button on the green that was revealed when you open it up below the silver. I have one at home.
The 4th and 8th doctor's screwdrivers has multiple noise settings, you just pull the thing down 3 or 4 times.

the war doctors sonic was actually just made from a modified toy sonic, so the toy of it is the only perfect replica they ever officially released
I have the first 12th sonic screwdriver and I don’t know what I did but it some how played the third noise.

You gotta triple click the button or quad click the button really fast to get the noise

Great review! I can tell I'm going to love this channel! What a great review! I've enjoyed many different sonics in the past. I believe including my siblings and me, we've had the 3rd, War, Sonic Pen, 10th Blacklight, 11th Doctor, River Song Sonic, Master's Laser and Build Your Own sonic screwdrivers. Plus Sarah Jane's Sonic Lipstick. My favorite thing to do with them is to add them to my War Doctor cosplay. We modified an ammo holster strap that was designed to hold bullets so that it could hold sonics! It makes a really cool addition to the cosplay! Thanks for the awesome video!

6:29 I have that 10th Doctor Sonic, it has two tones there's just a subtle difference between them. If you hold it on for a few seconds each, you can pick up on the differences easier.

Something to mention, especially as these get harder to find, the personalize your own sonic set comes with the pieces to make an 11th/12th doctor screwdriver
The triple press on the eleventh’s is the sonic sound when it makes a really loud noise. It was used by the eleventh doctor in his first episode with the 10th doctor’s sonic screwdriver that caused the sonic to break so the tardis gave him a new one.

The Ninth's did extend during the show, and the toy released at the time had that feature too. As I recall it was slightly more yellow than the toy produced for the Tenth Doctor.
If it was slightly more yellow like you said, then you could probably use the tenth doctor’s day of the doctor sonic if you want it to be different

9's sonic when the slider was at the top only the sphere was exposed but in parting of the ways, it works exactly like 10's
I saw from your other video, that you did come across the 8 sounds that the build your own makes. I like using the blue light up, all grey with the black on the handle, for my version of the Doctor that I came up with. The third sound, has an almost original Star Trek scanning type of sound.

On my 11th doctor screwdriver I noticed a small button on the green interior when you extend it.
He missed a feature on the twelfth doctors screwdriver because I have it I found that you can take off the bottom of it to reveal the energy cell on it.

After seeing the 11th and 12th sonic screwdriver I remembered something from my childhood. When I was 7 or 8 I got the tenth and eleventh doctor sonic screwdriver and I didn't know doctor who existed so I ran around with it and that's when my neighbor told me about doctor who. And here we are now and I can't stand a day without doctor who in my life

I got the 11th one in a dvd set for christmas and mine has 4 sounds so either it's from a different company or it's a newer model.
That 9th Doctors Sonic was a really botched job by character options. His sonic was absolutely NOT that green blue color, his was a cream color.
Yeah, the blue tint didn't jive with my memory. The 50th anniversary 10th looks more like 9's.
Agreed, and even that one isn't quite right. It's more yellow than cream. Plus the spiral in 9's was black while 10's had a yellow spiral

I also had a problem with my twelfth doctor touch control version, because i extend it, and touch arround the fake leather impression, and it does work a sound arround 3 to 5 seconds and it stops, then, I try again & the time´s more short and finally, it turns off. What can I do?
Depends on how long you've had it. I would try to exchange it if you purchased it recently.

The journal that the other mini one comes with is the one used in the family of blood. It's where the doctor writes all his dreams. The journal is legible, but it's difficult to read due to that doctor's handwriting.

The 3rd setting of the 11th Doctor's screwdriver is, I believe, the one used against the Cybermat in Closing Time.
What about the sonic Trowel? I have seen it have made one in fusion 360 and printed it but have not seen much on it. Do you have anything on it?
well, the tenth doctor's sonic *did* have all four sounds later on, I didn't know they had a yellow one, so another one to add to my collection!
I would suspect they changed the electronics over time. So brand new ones likely have all 4 sounds, but older models do not.
That must be really annoying for the people who already bought the early 10th sonic screwdriver. Although I can understand, because the tenth doctor was the doctor for a long time.
Well, it could also be considered that those early buyers have an original 10th sonic toy, not the later, more common model. It's a collector's item!

Romana II also had a sonic, but like the 2nd Doctor, they never made a toy of it. I have all of the sonics shown here (except for the sonic blaster). I am searching for something to use when cosplaying Romana or the 2nd Doctor.

Many years late but I can confirm I have a grey 10th sonic that has 4 sounds. Also the 11th has a button just above the standard button that is normally hidden unless extended you can use to make a noise while it is extended!
There's another version of the 12th Doctor's first sonic that has a button except that there's no bottom button so it works in both positions.
Interesting. There are differences between ones released by Character Options and Underground Toys. Plus different batches.

Actually the victorian sonic has multiple noises but you need to click it rapidly a certain number of times to get different ones (eg. press it 3 times very fast four times etc.)

I found a video as a tribute to River Song merging the episode where 12 gave her the sonic with when 10 met her in the library. It actually brought tears to my eyes.

You probably know this by now but thought I'd share for others who may not be aware- most of the Sonics shown here come with different sound chips based on the date of the production run (ie whatever chips Character Options had handy at the time). For example, one of my 4th Doctor Sonics (yes, I've bought multiples, usually because I manage to wear the silver paint down - either I have acidic sweat palms and/or I just pay with my Sonics vwaaayyyyyy too much!) :-) Anyway, one 4 the Doc Sonics has the same 4 sounds as the War Doctor Sonic (assuming even it has a standard chip) while the other two only have 2 sounds like yours. My 5th Doc Sonic has the hidden damaged 11th Doctor Sonic sound! I wanted to get the updated 3rd Doctor Sonic (which has updated deco more like the screen version, ie 3 thick black stripes around the caution tape /barber shop yellow section, darker red emitter, etc) but have never found it, too see if it has updated sounds too. And I really wish they still included those incredibly cool lenticular cards that used to come with the Sonics of that Doctor's opening titles sequence (I have the Pertwee color diamond flames and Bakers time tunnel titles). Those were beyond amazing and couldn't wait to have the Stars for the 5th etc but they stopped!
Great review, love seeing all the Sonics together!!! For me, the Wand Co's 10th Doctor Universal Remote will always be my favorite of the "actually does stuff" Sonics and goes with me literally almost everywhere even though it's died and regenerated a couple times. Infuriatingly and depressingly enough they are no longer being produced so I can't buy another new one if anything happens to this one (my 3rd, not counting the 11th and opening 12ths!)! Was really hoping they'd do a 4th Doctor version or a War Doctor base convertible to the 3/4/5th, and a River Song Future Sonic but seems they have lost interest in Who. Having used a Sonic that can actually of use at times, I can no longer be satisfied with just a model or toy version, and seems the tech to produce a real one is still a ways off. :-( Great video, apologies for the long post but hey, who can we share this stuff with but other Who and Sonic screwdriver fans! :-)
No worries about the long post. I did figure the sound chips are based on production times and some have updated chips. We're actually working on a special new Doctor Who sonic screwdriver video featuring a different version of a couple of these, so keep an eye out. The remote versions are cool... but Doctor Who's popularity has waned a bit, so I doubt they'll be making more style anytime soon. Glad you liked the video!
Where the cap was on the 11th on the 12th there is a thing you can pull called the power source, (not really a power source though)

Im going to get the Eleventh Doctor screwdriver :D He is my first doctor, I just watched his last episode today and have been crying all day :`) I started with 11 since they only have season 5 - 9 on netflix in my land :`D Love 11 though! What a emotional ride that was! and the end, The Doctor really is the wise man of the universe! Matt Smith is an genious actor! :D I look forward to see all the other doctors as well :D I got a sneak peak on 10 and 1(?) in the sepcial episode :) Great video! :D
Matt was a great doctor. And you'll enjoy 10 as well, I would think. That "special episode" had 10, 11 and the "other" or "war" Doctor. He's an unnumbered regeneration between the 8th and 9th Doctors.

For the 11th doctor when we viewed it face on when you first showed it, when you put the light on, it looked black

Nice video! There is another version of the 11th docters sonic called the single button version. It replaced the red button on the bottom. This seems to be the best version of them all. Though the claws on the 12th touch activated version work much better. Another thing to note is the original prop had no springs in it and it was flicked open. You can remove the springs from the toys and they work that way as well. Just don't flick to hard. Also the trans temporal has 8 sounds and the build your own has 9 or vise versa. You just have to keep pressing to get each one. 2 time for one sound 5 times for another and so on. :)

the weird thing is that thers like 5 different versions of the 3rd, 4th and 5th doctors due to there being like 5 waves of them
There was a sonic lance released, not sure buy whom but its out there .. Also there was a 9th doctor sonic released but the only difference is a beige color and has a silver core, it is super expensive though.
I have seen 6th Doctor Sonic Lances, but they weren't "official" toys. That's interesting about the 9th. A lot of people suggest using the 10th Doctor's 50th Anniversary version.
I have the river song screwdriver but when I press the button behind the panel nothing happens and I can't hold down the button
That's odd. Two possibilities. Your sonic is defective. Or possibly it was made by a different manufacturer. Character Options and Underground Toys both made sonic screwdrivers, the former in the UK and the latter in the US. Not all of the screwdrivers had the same electronics. I would be curious if you could see any type of manufacturing information on your sonic.

Yea, the river song ones panel is easy to lose or break, I lost mine but it still looks nice.
It does still look fine without it. If someone still has their's and is going to a con, they might want to leave that part home.

That thing with three and four times press that has 11th doctor's sonic also functions on 4th, 5th and 7th doctor's sonics.
The 10th does have a later version with 4 tones that isnt 50th anniversary
