Fun fact, the War Doctor's sonic screwdriver has the most accurate toy, because that's what John Hurt used for Day of the Doctor. A modified Fourth Doctor sonic screwdriver toy.
I was aware of my first 12th doctor smart touch screwdriver (even though I still consider it the 11th Sonic) having the sounds, and learned then on my own, and in doing so 3 years ago I got scared when doing it. But glad to see that others have these special sounds.
A great review. I recently acquired a secondhand 'build-your-own-sonic' on eBay and in addition to it's versatility, I was pleasantly surprised by the wide range of sound effects. Underground Toys really should reissue that - it's certainly very marketable. Love your Eighth Doctor costume, by the way.
Glad you liked it. I do still see Build Your Own brand new around. They should make a new set, in my opinion. And glad you liked the costume. I am running out of costumes to wear in these videos...
I agree! Three completely new sonics, rather than a simple reissue, would be great. Not sure I could give a more experienced cosplayer such as yourself any advice on what to do next as, personally, I've only ever cosplayed the First Doctor. If you're interested, a friend and I did a 'fan-service' minisode last year, in which the Eleventh Doctor meets the First Doctor on the last day of the Time War... I'd be interested to know what you think of it ua-cam.com/video/lEVVcJp6JBk/v-deo.html
I have the Trans-Temporal sonic screwdriver (i carry it everywhere.), I have lost the endcap, it's quite loose, and the sticker is peeling, but it still works, still makes noises, still lights up. And i love it.
No problem... I like to give credit where it's due. Doctor Who fandom is a community I'm happy to be a part of. Hope you liked the other stuff in the video as well.
Thank you so much for showing me the trick about the 10th doctor's sonic screwdriver. I have a 9th doctor's wave 3 sonic screwdriver and 2 10th doctor's screwdrivers(one of them is old and the other is the 50th anniversary version). I tried the trick, and it worked.
That Trans Temporal Sonic is cool looking (and sounding!)! I may have to get one of those if they are still available and try to replicate your combo of parts. And that's amazing they have that many sounds! Too bad there's not an easier way to access them than tapping so many times in rapid succession. Always have loved the Sonic, 4th Doctors is my favorite, followed by the 10th Doctors in a very close 2nd. IMO the Wand Co 10th Doctor Universal Remote is the closest thing to a real Sonic, and am gutted they aren't making them any longer! I even emailed them back in the heyday and suggested an updated "Ultimate" model that would allow the USB port to connect to a PC/Mac for easier programming, and to enable file backups add one of its features. Also suggested more memory to allow for more configurations (at least 10 over the included 3) and an "fast config" option either via PC or by entering the same 4-6 digit identification code found with most Universal Remotes to program the Sonic for particular devices much faster and easier than the tedious method required (ie in programming mode, press the button multi times to enter the digits for a device, and then all functions are married to a default set of actions - which can still be customized to the users preferences, but would allow the Sonic to be setup for deducts in a few seconds instead of programming or learning a few functions one at a time as is the current case. Alas, twas not to be, but I'd have happily paid a couple hundred for such a useful device! And now always we'll never get a 4th Doctor Sonic Wand Co either, and that just hurts my hearts!
I think I mentioned I was shocked too. LOL. Thanks for subscribing. More Doctor Who stuff coming down in the next couple months (plus other stuff, too).
oh, so they did rerelease the third doctor one with the other sound chip from the 50th anniversary ones. that's great, because one of those sounds is accurate to the third doctor's era sound
Glad you liked it. That background is actually from footage I took at the Doctor Who Experience in Cardiff. And I like to credit people. This is also not the first video where my cat decided to make an appearance. I think he's more popular that I am. LOL. And yes, that is an 8th Doctor Costume from Cosplaysky.com.
Thank you. Actually, the interior was a frame from my video at ua-cam.com/video/uCypiVgQKP8/v-deo.html - which was a fun trip and it gives me Doctor Who backgrounds without worrying about copyright. LOL
Fandom Spotlite thanks now I’m getting the 11ths my 1st one that I had but lost so thx so much keep being a great channel and as my 2nd fave doctor would say Allonsy
wow i did not know the sonic maker thing kit had more sounds we learn something new everyday in fact im making my custom Screwdriver out of real metal and it suppose to look like tombakers one but my one has a crystal instead of a bullet in the ring. the way it scans things you press the button and the jem lights up and you suppose to look though it like a doctor Otoscope by the way nice video
No hate but you still forgot 2 other sonic devices. The 8th doctors dark eye sonic screwdriver. Ramana's sonic screwdriver.(sorry can't spell her name correctly)
No problem. I like hearing from people and having conversations. So I can figure out what else I might be able to contribute to the fandom and to meet cool people. :-)
Perhaps. I've had comments from some who didn't even know the 11th Doctor's sonic had extra sounds. Others were blown away with the number of sounds for the transtemporal and build you own. :-)
the sonic pen you can get a toy of it but i found out a nvisible Ink Magic Security Writing Secret Pen With UV Light on ebay but it has no sound effect but you could find others beside what i found and its more cheaper
I'm always rather annoyed that a replica of The Tissue Compression Eliminator, as used by the original Master (superbly played, with gleeful menace, by the late, great, Roger Delgado), has never been made available. Saying that, Missy's 'Device' would be nice to have, too. Character Options also made a prop replica from the show 'Primeval' - an 'Anomaly Detector', and oddly, it looks exactly like the sort of thing that The Doctor, or Captain Jack, would have in their pockets. Whilst it has light and sound effects (although it doesn't go 'ding!' when there's stuff), it's a pretty cool gizmo.
@@FandomSpotlite yeah, the handle of the actual prop was a bit tan, and the wire was a black wire and a red wire rather than gold wires. so swapping the handles makes a lot of sense with these two. that's what i did with mine. you can also swap the battery covers so they don't show through the slot
Did you know, with the 9th/10th sonic,if you do the screw holding the battery/emitter in tight and slide it up in between the two buttons and push the emitter in towards the body of the sonic the light and sounds will come on!!
I got my sonic for $45 off ebay, prob'ly more than the original retail, but it did come with parts for 3, not counting the inside, & the 12th's is $20 on amazon, so maybe.
I'm not sure if this works but I used to have the 11th doctor's sonic screw driver and I think I remember the if you pressed it a certain number of times it would show the light but have no sound. I Could be wrong but worth a try
I tried to replace my 10th doctors sonic but I pulled the wire inside accidentally and it is fully gone do you know a viable link for an affordable sonic screwdriver your help would much appreciated ?
There were two companies putting out sonic screwdrivers, with different electronics. Plus sometimes they changed the electronics for different batches.
The 9th Doctor should be linked in the description, though for visual accuracy, the 10th Doctor 50th anniversary version is closer. The 6th and 7th didn't have sonic screwdrivers, though the 6th did use a sonic lance, which wasn't made as a toy version by Character Options. Reproductions are hard to find and somewhat pricey. Good luck.
Yes, I am from the US. My family on my father's side came over from the Middlesex area, I have been told. I visited the UK once. Would love to visit again.
Are there more sonic props I am not aware of? Awesome! Please let me know more. I will say I am aware of the 8th Doctors sonic from the Big Finish adventures, but getting one is difficult and expensive.
Argh! The inhumanity of it all! Well, thanks for letting me know. I do know a number of people made their own. I might take a stab at that one of these days.
Actually, I talk about the Master's laser screwdriver and all the sonics (except the new one for 13, which will get it's video as soon as I get one) in this video: ua-cam.com/video/4fNSQzmjHNQ/v-deo.html

You don't need to tap twice with the 11th Doctor sonic, the second sound comes "naturally" when you tap it again

This was uploaded the day before my bday!!
I had no idea the fourth doctor Sonic had a secret sound
the tenth doctor's sonic screwdriver has a different sound. it is just so quiet you have to put it near your ear to hear it
I think they should have a competition to see what the next sonic should be

The Dark Eyes sonic doesn't have a toy, as desperately as I want one. I dont think Romana's has one either.
What the hell is the 8th doctors dark eye? ._.
For the 12 the doctorwhen you toch one it does a normal sound and then when you press it again it does the second sound
you dont need to do the 2nd sound 2 time

The celestial toystore isn't making the sonic cane. CT made I believe just the 1 off a wim to see if he could and it's amazing.
There are two in existence.
the sound effect at 3:56 reminds me of a sound the OMNITRIX would make from the Original ben 10 (2005-2008)

the gold handle with the black wire is closer to 9's sonic as well
Yes, I've heard that. I've seen pics of the original release of 9's sonic. Very hard to find, but definitely closer to the 50th anniversary version.
@@FandomSpotlite yeah, the handle of the actual prop was a bit tan, and the wire was a black wire and a red wire rather than gold wires. so swapping the handles makes a lot of sense with these two. that's what i did with mine. you can also swap the battery covers so they don't show through the slot

However he does replicas Sonic Screwdrivers and is currently doing 11''s but it's like over $1000.
Did you know, with the 9th/10th sonic,if you do the screw holding the battery/emitter in tight and slide it up in between the two buttons and push the emitter in towards the body of the sonic the light and sounds will come on!!
+tom selby Nice! Tried it and it's a cool bonus. If you check out my video on all the sonics, there's a way to activate 11's differently.
