    Enjoyable content Tom 😎 A lot to get done but you done it 👍 Them bricks are typical of an old out building, crumbling away - awful to core drill sometimes if they are damp and awful trying to find a decent spot for fixings sometimes too! Have a good week mate 👍

    • @PlumbLikeTom
      @PlumbLikeTom  Рік тому +2

      I think I got lucky on this one with my fixings, the bricks seemed ok in most places but you always seem to get the odd where its hollow, the boiler itself was really secure, probably better than some I've seen that are hung on dot and dab and light weight blocks, thanks for the support as always mate 👍

    Nice work Tom. That was a lot to do in one day. Those auto air vents in the Worcesters tend to leak, so I think a manual vent is better, if less convenient.

    • @PlumbLikeTom
      @PlumbLikeTom  Рік тому

      That can be the problem with auto air vents, Worcester should put a piece of tube on the manual vent like on the RI boilers to divert the water out of the case, thanks for watching mate 👍

    Whoositter Botch OMG what crap Boilers, more plastic than a Tonka Toy!!!........Very prone to Fan failures & leaks, very poor Hydro Block.
    Turn your Milwanky pipe cutter upside down to cut 22 & 15 tube Tom. You need to hold 15mm to the front of cutter & support it, works a treat, great tool!!
    Always paste compression olives, you’re a cowboy if you don’t👍👍
    It’s a laugh watching you disconnect fittings, cause it looks like you’re tightening them. Reminds me of the old Cowboy Movies & the Wagon Wheels going backwards😂😂
    Cheers Tom thanks for sharing.

      The blades about blunt in the Milwaukee to be fair, I've been wanting to upgrade to the newer model but can't justify the price tag. Your right about the hydro blocks on the Worcester's although I don't think its as much as an issue as say sumps on ideals for example. When I use my phone to film it flips the image on selfie mode so everything's in reverse. Thanks for the support as always mate

    • @plumbertime
      @plumbertime Рік тому +1

      Most blocks fail as no shock arrestor on the mains.
      The pressure can build up towards 20-30 bar with no shock arrestor and obviously a non return valve somewhere.
      I’ve got 15 plus year old boilers doing fine with the plastic

    • @TheDickPuller
      @TheDickPuller Рік тому

      @@plumbertime At Vokera, we could get pressure readings of up to 86 Bar on short runs Mains Water pipes to a Combi, this with a DCV at the Stopcock. Vokera Hydro Blocks are much superior to WB. In 40+ years of fitting Vokera boilers, I’ve never had a cracked Hydro Block.
      On various contracts using various boiler(up to 5,000 boiler a year), without question WB were the worst & most unreliable.

    • @plumbertime
      @plumbertime Рік тому

      @@TheDickPuller 86 bar!
      Is copper event rated to 86 bar.
      Personally I just fit a shock arrestor and adjust it to .25bar below incoming and had no issues.
      I would prefer brass tho I guess.
      I do wonder why the dhw prv don’t pop tho on boilers where hydroblocks have failed.
      Although I don’t fully understand at what pressure or when it would activate. Just know it’s their.

    • @TheDickPuller
      @TheDickPuller Рік тому

      @@plumbertime New Push Fit installs on New Builds are pressure tested to 16 Bar mate. Water is not like air when it comes to static pressure.
      The PRV will not blow-off as its on the Primary side of a Combi. The Hydro Block failures, as said, are on the HW Secondary Side.
      Of course the 86Bar was only on a test rig for a short while.
      A shock arrestor is very limited in capacity, it’s just a small expansion vessel.
