Great video! Do you know if this setup works with a macbook m1 air? I have a wd sn850x and tried the satechi USB 3.2 C enclosure but when I go to do a file transfer it comes up with the error "disk not ejected properly" even though I haven't touched the drive
The 3.2 enclosure won’t give you fast speeds and that is OK for the MacBook Air. Have you tried a different usb port ? Looks like there is some sort of connection issue between the ssd and the MacBook
@@techbythaz yeah I tried both ports--same story. Thats why I was either thinking it was a power supply issue or thermal throttling. Tried swapping the usb c cable to my cablematters tb4 with no luck
No, thank you for watching my video, it’s a new channel and it definitely helps! My plan is to get a Mac mini too and keep this SSD plugged in 24/7. If you are also intending to use this with a windows machine then make sure you use exFat as the format. You will lose the functionality of APFS but it is what it is.
Some users have found that the included cable is not TB4 but USB 3.2 and has to get replaced to achieve the TB speeds. Note the cable has no markings.
That sucks. Guess I was lucky!

Do other ssds work ? Any chance you can try ? Wonder if it’s an issue with the enclosure or even the SSD
This looks like a nice setup for my M4 Mac Mini Pro. If I want to use the drive for a PC as well, what format would you prefer? Thanks for the video.

Hi , can we use for ipad , how much the total setup cost like enclosure and ssd .
Yes you can use it on iPad. I spent around £300 for both during the Black Friday sale. I am working on a review of this setup. Please keep and eye :)
I only have 2000 mb/s write speed in a macbook m1 pro with the same combo. Do you know what problem is it? Because I’ve just purchased both things
Is it the 16 or 14 inch MacBook Pro ? Can you try one of the other ports and see if you are getting faster speeds? There should be 3 ports.
@ same speed. It’s the 14 inches macbook pro m1 pro
Are you using the provided cable ? Also, did you try rebooting your Mac ?
@ yes and yes
One last thing you can try ? Try swapping the cable around and see if that helps.
