We recently got this coop for our first stint at backyard chickens.
The solidity of the metal framework puts it far ahead of every other store brought style coop I have seen.
We placed the coop inside the Producers Pride poultry pen to give our chickens (4) the ability to move around all day in safety.
It also gives me added piece of mind that there aren't racoons clamboring around on the coop at night terrorizing the chickens while they sleep.
I placed rectangular paving stones around the perimeter of the pen to keep anything that might dig, out of the enclosure.

Got one, it really needs windows for more light, and some venting, good strong construction though. (too dark inside, until I added windows to it my chickens just stayed in it and slept all day.)

How did you add windows? I'm trying to figure out how to add more light and ventilation to mine. My birds just turned a month old and will be moving out in about 2 more weeks 😳

Just got this coop for my 4hens. What are you doing for ventilation? Are you adding another roosting bar? How many do you plan to let live in there? Here in TX I paid $480 from TSC you are lucky !

Question: not sure where you’re located, but we have the same coop for four hens. We live in NE Oklahoma where the winters get down to between 0 to 20 degrees. How have you winterized your coop in order to keep the hens warm?

what do you mean when you say you have a metal base all one piece that you will weld to the bottom. Can you explain? I am sure you don't mean to block off their access to grass, since you intend to turn it into a type of tractor to move it around.
    Thanks.

@@FarmerBrad so you mean that it is also a frame, just welded to the bottom existing frame? That makes sense, thanks.

What kind of wood is the wood that’s used for the chicken coop!

I’m not really sure. I just know it’s a lot better quality than any coop I’ve purchased from Amazon.

Can you buy just the panels to extend it out some

I’m not sure if tractor supplies has additional panels that would work. You might be able to buy two of them and then combine them together.

You think it would be good for 3 leghorns 3 easter?

I have a couple of these coops. Personally, I wouldn’t keep more than 3 chickens in one coop. If you let them free range during the day you may be able to keep more than that as they really only use the coop to roost and lay eggs.

@@FarmerBrad it helps alot! The weight is both a pro and con. They are durable but not as easy to move. 😎

@@FarmerBrad how long have you had this coop? Holding up well?

@@FarmerBrad good to know! One of ours went through the winter just fine. Got the second one about 3 months ago. These are by far the best coop in that price range. 😎
