Hey hey y'all! Today we are putting together our chicken coop and I thought I would share the process and give you a little review of the Producer's Pride Sentinel Coop.
My name is Tiffany and this is Our Small Town Life. I am a homemaking, homeschooling, homesteading mama to four children. I'm married to my high school sweetheart and we recently purchased a double wide mobile home and put it on a little land that we are turning into our own one acre homestead. @@marymahaffey4618 thank you Mary. We think lightening hit it last week when we had the storms but didn't notice it till late last night/ this morning.
Sending prayers it gets fixed quick,i have oxygen and sleep with it on b/c of sleep apnea,i can't stand heat in my face
We have the same coop. Had it for 2 years. It has held up very well.
I've had that coop for a year, and its best use is a brooding coop and chick starter coop for purchased chicks. It is very sturdy and functional.

The chicken coop is beautiful, and the chicks have grown so much. Wyatt's smiles have set me up for the day. Buddy in the coop was adorable. Have a wonderful weekend 💞

We got the same coop...love it....the one problem we had is I think the ladder is to steep for them ...instead of walking down the stairs the chicks were sliding...so to make it not so steep...we just put a brick

I like that they used metal for your up rights and horizontal bars. So many of these coop kits use wood and they rot out or get ate up by termites in a couple of years. Plus it small enough and looks sturdy enough you can move it around the yard so it can function like a chicken tractor. Help fertilize your lawn or garden space.

So do the chickens stay in this all the time? Is it just something they go in when they want to? I love this! Was it very expensive? Great helpers!
Ours stay in it all the time unless we are out with them and even then it makes me nervous. We have several hawks that hang around here and they will swoop up a chicken real fast. We have a bigger coop in the works that they will move to and this will be used for breeding and as an in-between place when we are getting them use to being outside. They love being in it
We just bought this coop as well. Couple questions: can the door to the coop be closed from the outside without opening a door that would let the chickens out?
Is the roosting bar close enough to the nesting boxes that they will be pooping into them at night?
You have to open the outside door to close the coop door but it isn't hard at all. I have thought about adding a piece if wood off of it like a handle that sticks out the side to push and pull it but I don't know that it's even worth that effort since it's pretty simple as it is. And I don't forsee poop in the nesting boxes being an issue with the location of the roost bar. I think it's far enough away.

Do you think it would be easy to move around the yard ?
It's heavy enough to feel heavy duty but also lightweight enough that two people can move it easily. We've even moved it just with one person before, but two makes it much easier.
how are you going to knock the grass down under the coop? I am so interested in this.
