I grew up in the 1940's with Miller, Goodman, Shaw etc and have always loved the big band sound. Trust me. These youngsters compare most favourably and I have bookmarked much of their material. I am sure they could fill any venue. They are quite simply, marvellous.
The most together professional-sounding big band of highly accomplished multi-talented swinging young musicians out there! This complex piece of jazz was made for them. Outstanding!
As if the beautiful music wasn't enough, the video productions makes for a more complete experience! The camera angles, the closeups and the expressions in the musicians faces that are captured as a result, really brings me closer to the band and to a more enjoyable journey through the music production. It touches more of my physical senses and leaves me wanting for more! Thank you to the video technicians for a great job!

Amazing performance, especially the ensemble segments - sans rhythm section - first saxes, then trombones followed by trumpets, each section playing as one. And what an arrangement ! Perfect sound balance and camera work. An absolute pleasure to repeat over and over again ... I'm speechless ! Thank you so much, Joan.

Can't help adding another comment. Of course I noticed the drummer inspite of the rich harmony. Yet it's not just that, the whole band is in sync rhythmically. Concentration and relaxation. I can view this video on demand thanks to you tube and of course to Joan!
