You are attacking it to slow it down, or potentially stop it. Kinda shows how even without it's core, when it's moving at a constant speed towards it's core across Michlan, and it's only defending itself, it's ultimately going to end you and you can't win against it.
@Esdeath They become in Data Lost, but don't worry, you can recover them after you defeat ORT, or you can surrender... There is a special button to do that with the legend "try again and save the world!"
You can even see it in the Master's face, the facial expression of your character's standing art changes to become more and more stressed as you lose more and more Servants.

Might as well be one of the most powerful beings known in the entire universe that was already heavily nerfed in the first place when we fought it.
