I've wanted to make a Nomad beginners character course for ages. We do sell one but I wanted to make sure anyone who isn't in a position to purchase that can still get into making cool characters in Nomad Sculpt. I really take me time in this first one and that the sort of pace I'm going to maintain in these beginner videos.
Just getting into Nomad and I'm interested in a course (now that cozyblanket AND UV unwrapping is available) where you go from Nomad to finished product for either a 3d print or game development (using mixamo with the retopo model). I know you have videos kind of covering these aspects individually but a full project based course would be amazing.
Everytime I look at tutorials I find that I need to watch multiple beginners guides to find the answer that I need but you seem to cover it all really well. I really appreciate your guides here on Nomad, I have also been through your guides on Gravity Sketch and both gave me the basics I needed to get started. Keep it up man, love your work
I've been looking all over UA-cam and I've found the best introductory course on Nomad. You answered at least a dozen questions that I've had from being left in the dark from others. Thank you.
I've been using Nomad for a year, self-taught, and was looking for a video to show a friend how to get into it. I learned a thing or two from this still, still. Great video.

thank you for this, genuinely useful start up tutorials are so hard to find! though the fact this is now using a dated version of the ui throw me for a loop afew times.
Yeah that's a really pain sorry. The software had a major overhaul as I was halfway through the recording of this course. The last 4 parts are all done were delayed for a few months while the developer was still adding and changing things around. The last 4 videos all have the new interface (which is awesome) and I do apologise in the latest videos as I know it's a pain in the ass
Thanks for making these. I was getting frustrated with z brushes weird interface and was looking for an alternative that had good sculpting tools. I haven't utilized my iPad pro as much as i should and this course has been great really well paced simple and direct not skipping steps like many tend to do. It fosters a solid understanding of the tools and how they are used as well as application of concepts and construction.
This is a really great tutorial. Thank you for this! The only thing is (and it might just be me) I would have an easier time understanding what you're selecting if you just had the view with your hand and stylus.

This is an amazing tutorial! The only question I have about nomad is how to make hollow objects? I’ve been wanting to make a few but I just can figure it out
Great tutorial thank you. Just wondering why you keep holding down the smooth button when smoothing with the pen? Does tapping on the smooth icon not select it so that you can use the pen?
just for those budget conscious, i use nomad sculpt on my samsung s6 lite which cost me $250 (including the pen and the cover). Nomad sculpt has been a treat for on the go 3d sculpting (max ram is 2.6 gb - but thats plenty for a beginner). Disclaimer, i primarily use irl clay and also have a pc that I could use for blender. But all i use these days is my samsung s6 lite, me clay over there collecting dust. sigh. great tutorial btw!
Really love your tutorials! Just exponentionally improved by watching you work! Do you think, perfecting Nomad can be taken to a professional level? I think, in general learning Blender or C4D for example is a must, to truly level up, but I just wanna hear your opinion on this! Keep up the great work!
Not even close. It is essential that you add full polygonal modeling, retop and loads more skills/tools and features to cope in a professional environment. Nomad is one of the best ways to start digital sculpting but moving on is essential. We use ZBrush and Cinema4D mostly but the C4D part can be blender, Modo, Maya, Max etc. whatever works best for what you want to do. We use Maxon Cinema4D as our main tool because our main client (SKY) uses that for almost all jobs. I love Blender but it isn’t even close to being able to handle what ZBrush can when sculpting. For everything other than sculpting Blender is now exceptional but still under represented in industry. Nomad is a gateway drug into the world of 3D sculpting and it’s used by professionals to allow them to still sculpt when away from the desk. Thanks for the kind words. Means a lot and make me want to keep making content.

How can you merge the eyes and whole head without losing the roundness of the eyes? Sorry totally beginner here because when I started to voxel merge, the eyes are no longer round and defined.
Is there a way to smooth the mesh but relax it? I know you showed smooth but if you look carefully it's not clean I find that you can't have a completely smooth curved surface and there's always this result of being able to very slightly see the strokes even after smoothing.

Hello,
I hope you’re doing well. I came across the “NOMAD FOR BEGINNERS - sculpting a character on the iPad” tutorial, and I noticed that there are supposed to be files or assets mentioned in the video description. However, I couldn’t find the links or files.
Could someone please help me get access to these files? It would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you so much for your time and assistance.
