There will be some peak jokes and some strange off-putting moments. But aside for that, nothing happens. But they build up the story for the next saga. And that one will be truly amazing
That moment with Ussop is the culmination of his character character arc in this story arc. His insecurities leading him to leave the crew and coming back for his friend and showing his strength, even though he is not a monster like the others his strengths lie elsewhere and him realizing that means the world to me. People also overlook sanji supporting him throughout all of this since water 7. Him kicking luffy during the argument then going to warn him about aqua laguna, beating up franky on the sea train and finally making him realize that he needs to do something that the others can't. Helping him find his worth. Just brings me so much joy. I'd also like to mention that people usually miss luffy's arc in this saga. Becoming a better leader, by the end he is putting his trust on a former enemy to save his friend. He is thinking like a leader, he had to grow up and lead by example, takes me back to when zoro says to him to stay strong because the whole crew looks up to him. Him taking charge and setting priorities for the crew leading them to victory is such an underrated arc from what luffy was previously "the guy who will defeat the bbeg". Also I've said this already in a previous episode, Nico Robin you are my hero. o7
one piece will uniquely surprise you, it ages like wine. every 300 episodes you will find yourself engaged with what feels like the peak of storytelling, just for 300 episodes later to top it. its told masterfully in repeating intervals, slowly raising the stakes every time.
@@nerdydaily I'd also like to point out the other transformation we went from "it's the end of the world, how in the hell did a gun eat a dog devil fruit" to "Oh cool, look at that, Zoro has three heads, six arms and nines swords now" with no other explanation needed. Well, done I say!
This Usopp moment makes me laugh because the poor guy is so unlucky. Usopp really has the potential to be one of the best snipers in the verse, a universe of massive-crewed ships that just drift around and plan their battles….and this guy ends up on the one understaffed crew of a lunatic that doesn’t plan a goddamn thing and keep putting him in melee-range of every psycho they encounter. Bro is fighting a permanent nerf just from being Luffy’s underling XD But I guess he’ll get to be the sniper of the future pirate king so it’s probably worth it
In the manga, oda occasionally adds answers to questions from fans and noted in that Kaku wanted to always work as a ship wright if not as a government agent
You're right that "you could work in a zoo" is the best zinger in the whole series. Despite being really funny, One Piece doesn't contain that many actual jokes, and many of them don't land super well because of the lost in translation effect. This one is just universally incredible. Usopp on the Tower of Law is, to me, the first moment in the whole series where he really embraces his role in the crew. There are situations where you just need a sniper, and it doesn't matter how strong the other members of the crew are, he can just do things that none of the others can.
True true, there are several moments in the story where for an entire arc the moment stops but then you get several arcs after that just keep building tension and feel really good. So yeah, the next "big" arc is really not that good compared to this one. But honestly, I like it fine. I have fun reading it whenever I reread it. But yeah, you can't just do a water 7 after an Ennis lobby all over again and again and again.
As always, you pick up on interesting things, like the Usopp Franky full circle! I've watched this series dozens of times and never noticed that particular aspect. Well done!
I've heard "You deserve 100 slaps" but only spandine, and that one chicken they tried to cook with slaps actually got hit that hard. Pun time: Robin is cookin' chicken.
Agreed. Though even here, they were talking about pure physical muscle power, i.e. how hard can you hit. Jabra even says that when you take his devil fruit into account, it balances things out
oda tried it out and was immediately "hold on this sucks actually" and I appreciate that a lot XD the wanted posters instead measuring how much of a menace someone is is so much better
A lot of people aren’t fans of the next arc but I like a less serious funish arc where the crew can hang out and if this arc just rolled into the more serious upcoming arcs it’d be too much
If you remember back in Zorro's flashback , when he challenged the dojo, he originally grabbed nine three swords. Three in his mouth and six in his hands.
One Piece doesn't slow down. Somehow it manages to keep the momentum and gets even better every year. Well, thats mainly because it just build's and builds on each self so that all the past seems relevant also, and who doesn't want more intrigue, more story and drama? :)
lol one of usopp shining moments and yet some so called one piece fans who hating on usopp block every shining moment of usopp yeahhh i see you usopp haters 🤣😂
You definitly should not have too high expectations for the next arc. Personally, i like it a lot but i know a lot of ppl dont and there will be things that will make you hate it.
The show honestly doesn't cool down until 200 episodes from now(although some may dog on the next arc.) It gets back in its stride pretty quickly, too. Water 7/Enies Lobby is definitely some peak fiction, I hope you're prepared.
yeah, that's the thing, some people who work for the World Government actually think they are doing the right thing. the powers that be are puppeteers and those like Kaku are Marionettes, dancing to the symphony... of destruction. bow wow, do do do do do! lol
9:55 Oh American History X anyone? Oh that scene hurt a lil 12 year old innocent boy at school who wasnt even alloed to watch Lord of the Rings lol. (seriously, that scene..)
How long for the next peak after fishman? I just finished that, they fought a dragon (?) but i haven't liked one piece that much after enies lobby. I mean sabaody was great and the halloween town arc was hella funny but it went on forever
The quality of the series is obviously very subjective. A lot of people do think that it peaked in Water Seven and Enies Lobby, and it's very possible that you're gonna be one of those people, I have no idea. But even if I can't promise that you'll always like it as much as you liked this saga, I can promise that there are more amazing arcs and amazing scenes you still haven't seen yet and I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy those. But we'll see I suppose For me personally, I might agree that Water Seven / Enies Lobby is the best _written_ saga overall (mostly because it has a perfect balance of just the right number of characters and just the right amount of build up and just the right level of stakes) but it's not necessarily my favourite arc (even if it's up there). My favourite arcs come later. They might not be as tight in terms of writing, or they might lack some build up, or might not have as much depth in terms of character drama, but I've reread them more than I've reread Water Seven or Enies Lobby because I just enjoy them so much. Also there are still amazing scenes even in some of the weaker arcs. Some of my favourite scenes are in my least favourite arc. Every One Piece arc has something great IMO, they're all worth reading (or watching I guess) I think for me the "objective" quality of the writing, however that's defined, doesn't matter as much as how much the story is affecting me and in what way. So there are storylines I love that I know nitpicky bastards love to hate because they're "bad writing" but they mean a lot to _me_ and they're things that I feel like I don't see enough in other works of fiction. Things that feel empowering and uplifting or at least validating Not that I don't also like the tragic moments or the well-written moments, I'm just saying that's not all that matters to me (also what even counts as good writing anyway? Sometimes people just seem to complain about the series because it's not "serious" enough, but is seriousness the same thing as goodness?)
Also it helps that the series keeps gaining depth over time, just by the virtue of being so longrunning and being able to build on the arcs that came earlier and the worldbuilding that's already been done.
Don’t let these fools try to get you with the “nothing happens” next arc. It’s a stupid false meme people who think they’re clever spam across every OP reactor for thriller bark. It’s beyond ridiculous the amount of people who do this.
Also I love that Zoro wasn't even trying to be mean or drop a burn when he told Kaku that he could still work in a zoo. The fact that he burned him while genuinely trying to help the guy feel better makes it so good.
in reality it isnt random, see like Asura, Zoro seeks to shake the pillars of Heaven, only in Zoro's case it's to become the world's greatest Swordsman.
The Fishman Island arc is getting remastered from 57 down to 21 episodes, so the episode count will probably go down with some given time, the biggest criminals are the Dressrosa arc and Wano arc where the pacing is terrible, but with enough luck they might get remastered too.
The next saga is a bit of a letdown. I'd rate it on the same level as Skypiea, so maybe you'll like it. However, the saga after that is pretty amazing.
100%, TB has some of the best singular moments in the series, even though nothing happens. But the pacing is the worst aside from roofpiece. Skypea was just consistently mid outside of few peak moments. Enel Face makes it all worth it though.

Sanji wasn't lying when he told Usopp "You're the only one who can save Robin."
You're right about the next arc, it dials down the emotions a bit and other than a bigger comedy focus for it, nothing happens in the next arc.
yeah it’s really just fun and jokes, nothing happens at all
Yep nothing happens
Yeah now that I think about it, nothing happened
Lol you guys. 😂
