      A lot of folks downplay the role of advlsors until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for licensed advisors and came across someone of utmost qualifications. She's helped grow my reserve notwithstanding inflation, from $275k to $850k.

      After so many years, I came to the conclusion that using chart analysis alone to forecast market moves was not a viable strategy. It is obvious that these forecasts are erroneous due to the market's unpredictable nature. Thirteen years of terrible experiences followed because there was no mentor during that time. But ultimately, I discovered how to take a more straightforward and methodical approach and align myself with the direction the market was headed.

      Find stocks with market-beating yields and shares that at least keep pace with the market long term. For a successful long-term strategy you have to seek guidance from a broker or financial advisor.

    So many questions... Hardly anything is explained in this video.
    1. After a company initially goes public and sells their stocks to people, how does the buying/selling/trading of stocks between people actually affect the company? It's just people buying and selling the ownership of the stocks between themselves, right? What does it matter to the company if their stocks are being bought & sold between people for more or less money? From what is explained it seems like only the sale of the stock owned by company people would benefit them (but not the company itself). Hypothetically if no one wants to buy the stock then the stock price crashes, the company could still be really successful and be turning a huge profit in whatever product they sell, right?
    2. Does the owner of the company before going public own 100% of the stock, and when they go public they can choose what percentage of stock to put up for sale (like 49%)? Therefore any stock they retain is stock they could sell later at a higher price?
    3. Does the company decide what price to sell the stocks at when initially going public? Or is that also decided by demand? If it's decided by demand, then do the first people to buy the stock get it for much cheaper and the price then just rises after each purchase?
    4. So are stocks that don't give dividends essentially "useless" to their owner until they are sold?
    5. Can a company force buybacks of stock?
    6. Are "shareholders" different from "stock owners"? From movies and media it always seemed like "shareholders" have great influence over the company, and the company has to please the shareholders, so it makes it seem like they are continually giving money to the company, thus they have leverage over the company. But if they are just people that own a lot of stock then how does that give them leverage over the company, haven't they already bought the stock? Is it the voting thing mentioned of "common stock"? They own a lot of stock so have greater voting rights?

    Good video! By the way , once a company sells its initial stocks out, they wont get any money from investors who are trading the stocks right? Im still confused on this.

    • @ConcerningReality
      @ConcerningReality  4 роки тому +3

      Correct! But the company will still hold some stock and they pay out a ton of bonuses in stock, so if the value goes up they still see benefit that way.

      You don't lose money until you sell. Yes your account would show down $10, and if you sold, you would lose $10, but if you held and it went back up to $60 and then sold, then you would make $10. How much money you make is purely the difference between when you buy and when you sell.
