Hay man love your videos I have a 2012 ram 3500 Ho and I’m starting to get into mods for it because of your videos. I hope you find the issue and get it fixed with no problem whatsoever ever. Keep up the great videos 👍
I made a plug out of a old injector line to test my injectors on my 5.9 ...workes great ! Should be a hard start with a leaking injector, so when you plug the leaking injector off it will fire right up.
Mine is making same sound but is getting worse an worse which i literally drove it 1/4 miles since it started and now it starts very hard. Been smoking white blueish few months before it started with the tapping sound and rough idle an hard start. Im thinking injectors being it has 180k
Bad cp3 I had the same problem changed my injectors still the same knock then finally swapped the cp3 pump it went away. Some people say to rotate the gear like 30° or something like that I don’t remember anyways try your cp3 before injectors but that’s just my advice hopes it works out for brotha love the content 💪
Sounds like injector. I haven’t had any go out yet or bad on my ISB 6.7 but i have had them go on my ISX and it almost sounds exactly like this but obviously semi size it was masked a whole lot more. Id drain the oil and start there see how potent the fuel is mixed in.
I think it might be a dropped valve or valve seat. If you cut out the injector the noise is still knocking. It’s definitely top end for sure. When you replace the injectors put a bore scope down it
Have you firmly attached the exhaust to make sure its not bring moved in the exhaust stream, a small movement can leverage the tip or move it against the firewall
I had the same thing happen on my 12V when one of my injector nozzles cracked on the tip. Granted those are much easier to replace and diagnose but that for sure sounds like an injector knock.
Man I can understand the frustration. I've got a 6.7 and I swear sometimes it feels like a bad girlfriend. It takes all my money and it doesn't appreciate the work I put in sometimes lol. If everything seemed normal until what you have done to it, I would check the wiring on the rocker box to the injectors. But then again your luck might be like mine, if I didn't have bad luck I swear I wouldn't have any luck at all. Could be an injector, but if it was doing good before then start with the small shit. A ringing Could be the cp3 is why I asked. Hope you get it going soon man.
@joshua6200 it's very common for the grid heater nut to melt the stud off and drop it into the cylinder and a lot of the time when it does it it will sound like that.
👍🏻 also if you’re planning to replace all the injectors, when you adjust the valves Try using the torque wrench method Do you have a inch lbs Torque wrench? If so Find the torque you’re comfortable with and use it on all valves. This way all valves will be the same. That’s how I adjust valves on heavy duty engines. Been working on Cummins engines most of my like Also Mack and International engines Give it a shot 👍🏻

Where can I get a scanner like that?
Ever figure it out? I have the same issue on my 5.9

Having the same thing happen to mine this morning. What scan tool model is that?
How does it run ?
Has that ringing sound been there when you started thinking it was an injection issue?
What ringing sound? The turbo? It's making a clack sound
No it sounds like a ringing sound and a knocking sound on the video not turbo.

What is rhe tester you are using i need to pick one up
Most obd scanners will do a injector kill yesr. its under special functions. Quick learn will be there too if you ever need to reset transmission.
Could be a maintenance issue no oil change in over 2 years 😮
I'd say you dropped a bolt down the intake
"a bolt down the intake"? seriously?? take a time out bud..

Keep a eye on oil and pressure I had a bad injector and it flushed the cylinder put fuel I'm the oil pan.
Had that noise and turned out to be a rod knock. #6.
Did you ever figure it out
Most likely Rod bearings, or piston fked on One cylinder or more
You need to check your rock arm make sure . They’re not heating anything.
You'll fix it very soon👍💪
So… what’s going on?
more than likely a bad injector
Just doo some 100 over injectors and some tunes it'll be spicy
I’d go back and just check your rocker arms and push rods
Sounds like #5 injector when you kill #5 no change
When you kill #6 injector
You can hear the difference
Appreciate the advice buddy. Gonna more than likely replace the 5 & 6 injectors
@@EVERYTHANGDIESEL
Hey Cam, why not change all 6 injectors instead of just 5&6
The engine has how many miles on it?
@mikeb6300 that is a valid point and I have 167k miles on them too

@mikeb6300 appreciate the insight man thank you!
