The werewolf design from Dog Soldiers is the absolute best design ever. Since the first time I saw it that design set the bar for every other werewolf ever. It's such a rad movie.
So glad to see Dog Soldiers at the top of your list! It is definitely at the top of mine, too, just above The Howling and American Werewolf in London. But to avoid retreading ground that everyone else seems to have covered before, here is my personal list, staying away from the most popular of werewolf movies that are no-brainers, and including several that aren't even werewolf movies at all: 1. Bad Moon - It might not be the best werewolf movie ever, but I love the idea of the film's main protagonist being the family dog. 2. Ginger Snaps - Criminally underrated werewolf movie, in my opinion. It's not perfect, but I still think it deserves some love. 3. Feast - A quite funny non-werewolf monster movie that goes in some weird directions, but it definitely captures a similar "under siege by monsters" vibe. 4. Antlers - Another movie that I think deserves much higher praise than it gets. Not a werewolf, but the transformation from man to beast in this movie is gnarly and I love it to death. 5. The Monster - I saved this one for last. Holy shit, I love this movie. It left a lasting impression on me. If you are looking for a sharp-toothed, razor-clawed "monster in the woods" movie alongside a rich character story and a killer atmosphere, look no further.
Dude, you just started showing up in my feed. Love the vids. Werewolf movies.... SOLD! Subbed. Dog Soldiers is my #1 favorite werewolf movie, hands down.
My top five werewolves movie list from last to first: Bad Moon (1996), Silver Bullet (1985), Ginger Snaps (2000), An American Werewolf in London (1981), and last but not least, The Howling (1981).
Saw Ginger Snaps while on a horror run back in October.... it was very good! Watched part 2 as well. Silver Bullet is one of my childhood creepy faves! Thx...
1. Dog Soldiers is one of my top ‘monster movies’ of all time. It took a lot of faith by the actors & eventual investors, to get this film off the script pages and onto film. Sean Pertwee signed on as sgt Wells right at the start. The werewolves were played by dancers to encapsulate the graceful movement of the creatures. They had to wear fake legs that bent back & could barely see out of the costume. But for me, the tension in this film is awesome & the Military style sense of humour felt right & doesn’t distract from the horror. Yes, I totally geek out with this film. 2. Late Phases is in second place on my list. I kind of see it as Blind Fury, but with Werewolves. 3. My third, although not a werewolf film, is A Company of Wolves. I watched it when I was a young teen & it kickstarted my progression into werewolf films. It’s eerie, it’s gothic, it’s fantastic. 4. Howl. There is some ambiguity as to whether the beasts are werewolves, or some kind of other mutation. But if it walks like a werewolf & howls like a werewolf…😂 5. Ginger Snaps. It definitely has its issues, but left a lasting impression on my older teen self. Just for a fun watch I also enjoy Werewolves Within & yup, the trashy Wolf Cop, it sits right beside Planet Terror & Tank Girl as my guilty pleasures.
I collect VHS tapes, and when I hear the word werewolves, there are five rare werewolf movies that collectors desire that come to mind immediately. 1. Rage of the Werewolf 2. Eyes of the Werewolf 3. Lone Wolf 4. Lycanthrope 5. Night Shadow And here’s one honorable mention: Moonchild
You should do a top 5 movies to challenge your friends to watch. Here's some that I would recommend. Winterbeast, Devil Story, Sledgehammer, Things, and Robowar. Keep up the good work!
For me the number one Werewolf film of all time is The howling the transformation scenes are awesome and it's really scary also number two would be American Werewolf In London the transformation scenes are equally awesome the movie has more comedy in it but it doesn't take away from the horror Dog Soldiers would be next the werewolves in the film look a lot like the ones from The Howling plus the gore is really good Bad Moon is another one people should check out The company Of Wolves is pretty good also I haven't heard of howl or Late Phases but I will definitely check them out especially for the practical effects which I loved growing up Looking forward to Werewolves when it comes out I've heard the effects are good love Escape From New York and The Terminator even though they are not horror movies
DUDE, Dog Soldiers AND Late Phases, You got my Sub, Bro!!!😄😄😄 ...hmmm...Howl, eh? I saw that one quite a while ago, and the only reason I watched it was cause Sean Pertwee was in it, the Train Conductor!!! Like You, I wasn't really impressed, but because I respect Yer opinion, I'm open to give it another try!!! 🤣🤣🤣🥰🥰🥰
I think howl is a great film. English too so even better 😁. . English werewolf films always seem to be that little bit more scarey. Like dog soldiers. Love that film and the howling. Apparently my mum was watching it (the howling) in hospital the night i was born 🤷♀️ maybe thats why i have a fasination with werewolves. 😂🤣 they scare me but fasinate me at the same time 🫣🤣😂😎
Hi do you prefer dog soldiers or werewolves ? I'm French and werewolves isn't to theaters in my country 😢 I hope to see as soon as possible, maybe on streaming or blu ray I'm very exiting by trailers werewolves For me until now, the best werewolfs movies is an American wolf in London and dog soldiers Thinking both are like Alien and Aliens, the first with one creature and the second with many I would like werewolves will be like the trailer of this movie, because I love the trailer❤
Company of Wolves the Howling AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON WEREWOLF (tv show) Wolfen Wolf Bad Moon Dog Soldiers Howl Wer (for shits n giggles that one weresheep movie from Australia....can't remember the name right now) (also that Tales From the Darkside circus of monsters episode with the werewolf)

Definitely agree on Late Phases, such a good one!
Late phases is great, so is stake land that the same people made. Doesn't get much more classic than vampires and werewolves
My top five werewolves movie list from last to first: Bad Moon (1996), Silver Bullet (1985), Ginger Snaps (2000), An American Werewolf in London (1981), and last but not least, The Howling (1981).

The Dog Soldiers werewolves are the best werewolves ever caught on camera!
I'd like to add the short-lived TV series "WEREWOLF", from Fox's early days.
Network interference, then they canceled it before the first season even finished, if I recall.
My five would be 1) American Werewolf in London, 2) Dog Soldiers, 3) Ginger Snaps, 4) The Howling, 5) Curse of the Werewolf ! xx
American werewolf in London and the Howling by far are my all time favs never get tired of watching them👍☺✌

Thanks for subscribing, I appreciate the support!
Howl was excellent and had creativity with storyline and with the werewolves which were horrifically designed
My soft spot is ginger snaps. Such a good movie
I like Howl but the creatures seem more simian than lupine but it's still worth the watch.
I really loved Werewolf movies ever since I was a little Kid Too Man!😉☮️🖤
I have to wait until Sunday to see it!!!! Smh I can’t wait to see WEREWOLVES!!!
