@@BenTheRules sounds like a totally native speaker that has forgotten the language and relearnt it. So thats a great effort, and I would guess he learnt it from a Bosnian native. But not many Hungarians would take an interest in our language to such a degree.
Tryck! That is Swedish for push. So interesting to see our old Swedish trains in Bosnia. You are a true romantic, Ben. I also love that old communist aesthetic.
There is an electric trolley bus in Sarajevo whose destination sign is permanently stuck on "Jonction". There is a contest to find out where the hell in Europe Jonction is located. Let us know if it's in Sweden. If it is, that you for the trolley bus.
Both of my parents worked for the railroad before the war and would have one free ride a year for the family. We travelled to Valencia, Spain to see family couple of times during my childhood and all with the train. During the war my mom worked in an office in Zenica at that station. Volim Zenicu, ali ne miris Željezare😅
Hello Ben. Zeljeznicka stanica was built in jugoslavia komunist Tito’s era. And you are right all we have in Bosnia is built in that era. Like your videos
Ben! I know its frustrsting but nit having certain produce is a good thing! In bosnia a lot of things are seasonal meaning it’s better for the environment and you’re likely eating better/tastier things. Not sure when you went to the Zenica market but id think even in deep winter it’ll be harder to find strawberries
I have just realised where the accent sounds from. So, especially when you don't say grammar correctly, you sound as if you were from Macedonia. (It doesn't sound western at all.) Especially the talk with strawberry lady gave me that feeling.
Thank GOD pijaca is still a primary source of fruits and vegetables. they’re locally produced (often), supporting local farmers and the taste is always better. One day when we enter EU we will be forced to submit to corporate food overlords and Pijaca will be destroyed like it is in Croatia.
The pijacas are the best! You never know what you’re gonna find Interesting. I was going to say that hopefully they can still survive, like in Italy for example it seems like the open markets are still doing well. I’m not there every day though, so I don’t know

Sellers have connections with local importers who import large quantities from number of countries. Even small grocery shops have them. It all depends how much someone is good businessman and how good are his importers... They may combine local or self grown with imported. for your info 40KM is daily wage in country ,now you know how is difficult to live in Bosnia even worst if you have to pay the rent thats way people moving to other countries
They charged you more for most of everything when realized you were stranger. That's why I never buy if no price shown. I bought same paprike for 3 marks
i only paid 1 mark for the 2 paprike, 1 mark for garlic. the strawberries were 5 marks, the ajvar was 10, so i don't think they over charged. and even if they did, I'm happy to help them out a bit
Sto po sto amerikanac! My family’s been in the US for over a hundred years, but I’ve learned the language over the last couple years, starting out with friends from my hometown, and recently because I’ve lived and traveled in the region
At some point you should go to Serbia. Not just to Kosovo and Sandjak. You even went very nearby beautiful places like Kopaonik, Zlatibor, UNESCO world heritage sites like Studenica and Zica monasteries but seemed to prefer staying in Muslim areas, how come? Vojvodina is also unbelievable with towns like Subotica, Sremski Karlovci, Vrsac, Sombor, Fruska Gora too!
I hear you, I have plans to explore more of Serbia, don’t worry. Twice I wanted to go to Vojvodina but I couldn’t because of problems I had while traveling. I did make it to Niš, Priboj and Belgrade though (I didn’t film in Belgrade but I really liked the city). I ended up spending a few months in Sarajevo which is why I’ve made so much content in Bosnia lately
I never get tired of hearing you speak Bosnian
hvala buraz I never get tired of learning it 😈😈😤💯

If I recall correctly, his girlfriend is from Sarajevo. I think he also said he's been to Bosnia many times before.
I also think it's funny how probably 50% of the people don't even think he's foreign

The synagogue of Zenica is truly a beautiful building.
I agree, really unique building right in the middle of the old town
Nowdays, its museum of art or gallery… something like that
Very nice videos, feels like I'm there

Yesterday I bought some very nice Visocka pecenica in that same market. I like Zenica.

Hahaha I was so confused when I saw "Tryck." Not just because I was wondering what language it was but also because I didn't know to push or pull...

Bosnians don't eat avocados nor papayas haha
i'm not sure those are homemade strawberries :D i think even people from pijaca get their goods from everywhere. would like to know more for sure
Maybe not, but they’re still much better than the ones in the supermarket :)
Where do the market sellers source those strawberries at this time of year? Im not convinced they grow them in Bosnia.
