Jeff those leaves you cut off you can plant and many will germinate and produce tomatoes. Won't work late in the season as growing season wont be long enough but for the first week or so
Great video guys. Y’all are definitely getting things done. Garden is looking great. What an amazing helper Miss Lilly is. ❤. Keep up the great work. Have a great week.
Well thank you for watching! We picked some spruce tips and made a vinaigrette today....it's so good. Lily is gardening away ....she just gets lost in her plants. So funny
What great plans and the garden looks amazing. Good growth family constantly working and growing along with it. Hey I heard that man say he was hungry 😂😂😂
Absolutely....we have been together since 1997! My mom used to tutor him when we were 12 yrs old, so we go way back... He likes his food and old fashioned big boy toys...he's a pretty simple man😊
Yes! We are sprinkling them around our tomatoes. That is another thing I never knew was nutritious to plants! I was in the medical field for 20 years so I am a huge newbie to this...but I am trying and love learning 🍅🍅
Thank you! Probably 10 to 16 acres cleared. No more pigs this year, just more structures for us built first.... Wood shed a must. I don't want to do the frozen tarp under 2 ft of snow again! Lol.
For a little over 6 years I did firewood for room and board every time I watch somebody doing firewood I just really enjoy it thank you thank. Is this the kind of birch that you can make lumber with, I'm just asking, I don't know.
I'm catching up on your videos. My wife has been in the hospital and it's been very hectic. I'm having to run farm by myself and she's my partner and right hand woman.
Oh no, is she going to be ok? I am so sorry to hear that. Does she need any medicinal salves? I would be happy to send her some if it would help! Hang in there...let me know if we can help in any way...
Do you guys have plans for the area that you cleared the trees from? I just learned from my dad about using the bananas, except he put the peels in a container with water & let them set for a time. I did the same.
Greetings! So we are hoping to do a couple 30x90 greenhouses. Utilizing the hoop house program through the FSA. It will be lots of work but imagine the amount of food that could be grown. Also we like that in greenhouses it's a covered area and we have more control. We feel like the weather does strange things and the forecast seems to always change. In a greenhouse it doesn't really matter as much! Yes a viewer actually educated us on bananas! I never knew....Fun to learn new things! Lily actually made some "banana soup" she calls it. We will strain and feed to our plants today
@@Alaskan6pack wow that's awesome! I wish I could have a big greenhouse! I will be looking forward to seeing them built & full. Lily sure is a good helper & learning lots. 😊
I literally don't think we could do all this without her. She is very focused and a natural leader...she is out planting 100 red onion starts today in the greenhouse so I can have time to clean up the cabin. It's nice having her help😊 Plus the best part is learning gardening skills early on.
My Self Reliance music. 😮
Great video. Life in Alaska , wow! ❤
Never a dull moment here!... It's good though it keeps us all moving!😊

Garden is looking great. Lots of hard work to clear the land but so worth it.
Thank you! It's a great physical work out too for everybody! Hoping to get an excavator here in next 2-3 weeks!...
Good job guys! The property is moving along!
Yeah!!! We are all working so hard

He is always hungry!!!! Lol.
He never wants to feed himself either.
He claims it tastes better when I make it 😊....
@@Alaskan6pack 🤣🤣🤣🤣Enjoy it as long as you have him. My husband used to say the same thing the fact is my cooking was always better 🤣🤣🤣

Always hardware from Georgia always heard to put Epsom salt on the outside of the circle that you going to put your tomato in and it boosted them up
Oh so good to know! Thank you for sharing.... Need to go get me some Epsom salt! We will try that 😊🍅🍅🍅
Also used coffee grounds are great for those tomatoes 🍅

Making progress every week! How much land do you eventually plan to clear? Do you plan on getting feeder pigs again? Great pasture area.

Thank you. Yes with some of the straight birch logs they are the milling logs.
6 years is a long time to do firewood..
It's a lot of work!!

I just lay the banana peels on the ground by my veggies...
Ok thank you for your input....do you notice a difference with it?
I never knew bananas were an added extra until a viewer educated me! ...

Thank you. Very proud mama
Just the banana peel is necessary.
Ahhhh...didn't know that thank you.
I love to always be learning....!!!
